Chapter 536 - 533: Miles Would Never Like Her
"But what else can we do? Seth really hasn’t broken up with that bitch, and they got their marriage certificate a long time ago. They’ve just been hiding it this whole time."
As she spoke, a vicious look crossed Autumn Shelby’s face. "I really underestimated that bitch before!"
"What? They got their marriage certificate a long time ago?" Chloe Grant was in disbelief. ’How long have they even known each other? Was it love at first sight? A flash marriage?’
After a long moment of shock, she still couldn’t believe it. ’What on earth does Seth Quinn see in Clara Grant? To actually pull the love-at-first-sight, flash-marriage card?’
"So, s-so what do we do now?" Chloe Grant finally asked, her voice laced with anxiety. Before Autumn Shelby could answer, she quickly offered a suggestion. "Isn’t Aunt Quinn really good to you? Why don’t you, Autumn, go and..."
Autumn Shelby knew exactly what she was going to say. Shaking her head, she cut her off before she could finish. "It’s no use. Even if she’s good to me and supports me getting back together with Seth, it’s pointless if Uncle Quinn and Seth don’t budge. So, we can forget about her. Let’s think of another angle."
Autumn Shelby didn’t tell Chloe that Sienna Hale’s attitude toward her had actually changed long ago. It happened after Sienna found out that she was the one who told Clara Grant that Seth had used Cherie to trick her into marriage.
Although Sienna Hale had seemingly believed her explanation at the time, she was no longer as warm and friendly toward her as she used to be.
Since then, she had tried to meet with Sienna many times, but Sienna had rejected most of her invitations with various excuses. The few times they did meet, the encounters were brief and rushed, and Sienna rarely mentioned anything about Seth anymore.
She was desperate for a chance to get back into Sienna Hale’s good graces, but a suitable opportunity had never presented itself.
Autumn Shelby took a sip of her coffee. A thought suddenly occurred to her. She put down her cup, looked at Chloe Grant, and asked, "By the way, did you know that Miles likes Clara Grant?"
Faye Jennings had told her that Miles Quinn liked Clara Grant. Ever since then, she had been trying to find some solid evidence. She wanted to crush Clara without giving her any chance to breathe, to defeat her so utterly that she could never recover.
But she hadn’t found any yet.
’Since Chloe likes Miles, she must know everything about him, right? She hates Clara Grant so much... maybe it’s because she already knows Miles likes Clara.’
But she had barely finished her question when Chloe Grant bristled. "What? Who told you Miles likes Clara Grant? There’s no way Miles would ever like that bitch!
Did that bitch Clara tell you that nonsense herself? She really knows how to flatter herself!
She just wants everyone to think both brothers are into her, to make herself seem so damn charming. What a bitch!"
Autumn Shelby frowned. "So, you’re saying Miles doesn’t like Clara Grant?"
"Of course he doesn’t! It’s that bitch who likes Miles, not the other way around. I even know that she had a secret crush on Miles for three years before she ever met President Quinn. Even after she met him, she still liked Miles.
But Miles never liked her back. At most, he just thought of her as a fellow student, a junior from his school. Yup, that’s it."
As she finished, Chloe Grant nodded emphatically, as if to confirm her own words.
"Really?"
"Of course it’s true! I found out by accident that the bitch liked Miles, and I started paying very close attention to them after that. So of course I’d know whether Miles liked her or not!"
Autumn Shelby was puzzled. ’Then why would Faye Jennings have told her that Miles liked Clara Grant?’
’Did she not want to work with me, so she just made something up to get rid of me?’
