Vincent.

I kept smiling, keeping a pleasant look on my face while I waited for Daniel to arrive. Even though my mind was racing with different thoughts, I made sure my expression remained calm and relaxed. I had already put on my mask, hiding my true emotions completely behind a fake smile, and I had processed all the words thoroughly in my head. I knew exactly what I wanted to say and how I wanted to say it, planning every single sentence so I wouldn’t make any mistakes during our conversation.

Moments later, the heavy door opened, and Daniel stepped inside the room. As soon as he noticed me, he stopped and he bowed his head respectfully, showing the proper manners expected of him. It was a polite gesture, the kind he always gave, but it did nothing to calm the sudden anger rising inside me.

But I frowned, the fake smile instantly dropping from my face as a sharp realization hit me.

He had Galen’s scent on him. It was faint but definitely there, clinging to his clothes and skin. It was obvious they had just been together, and the very thought of it made my stomach turn. And I hoped he didn’t do anything funny with my sister, because I could tell he didn’t love her. I could see right through him, and I knew his heart wasn’t in it.

Although she is stupidly in love with him and completely blind to his flaws, I won’t allow him misuse her. She might be foolish enough to let him string her along, but I was her sibling, and I was going to protect her no matter what.

"Don’t you dare think about hurting Galen!" I yelled immediately, my voice cutting through the quiet room like a knife.

My sudden outburst might have taken him by surprise, as he visibly jumped at the sound of my angry voice, but I couldn’t care less about his shock.

I didn’t care if I frightened him or seemed unreasonable. I just needed him to get that message clear in his head so he would never forget it.

"Sit!" I commanded after a while, my tone dropping to a cold, hard whisper that left absolutely no room for argument.

And Daniel, who was still tensed from my earlier outburst, cautiously took a seat across from me.

He moved slowly, as if he were walking on eggshells, trying his best not to make any sudden movements that might trigger my anger again.

"Now tell me!" I paused briefly, assessing his face to see if he was hiding anything from me.

I stared directly into his eyes, looking for any sign of hesitation or deceit.

"How do you plan to deal with the quadruplets?" I asked, leaning forward. "Remember they are responsible for what happened!" I added, reminding him of the terrible mess those four had caused.

"I plan to kill them a day after your wedding to the Lycan Princess," he responded calmly, his voice steady despite the tension in the room. "But...." He continued, attempting to explain further.

But I didn’t let him finish his sentence.

"There are no buts!" I added firmly, cutting him off before he could make any excuses. "Tell me the necessary weapons you need, and it would be provided," I added, making it clear that he would have everything required to finish the job without any delays.

"Yes Alpha!" Daniel responded calmly. His voice was steady and obedient, showing that he accepted my orders without any hesitation.

He knew his place, and he knew better than to argue with me when my mind was already made up.

"Good!" I said with the brightest smile.

The anger that had filled me just moments ago completely vanished, replaced by a sudden wave of dark joy. Everything was finally falling into place exactly the way I wanted.

A day after my wedding is actually a good day. The timing was absolutely perfect. At least they would also witness me getting married to Maria. They would have to sit there and watch my moment of absolute victory, seeing me claim the life and power I deserved before their own time finally ran out.

And Noah would be taken care of. He had been a thorn in my side for far too long, constantly getting in the way and causing trouble. Getting rid of him once and for all would bring me a peace of mind that I hadn’t felt in a very long time.

As for Maria, she would be left with no choice but to learn to love me, and live happily for the rest of her life as the Lycan Princess. She might resist at first, and she might even hate me in the beginning, but eventually, she would accept her new reality. She would stand by my side, sharing my crown and my power forever.

Isn’t that the greatest thing in life? Having everything you ever desired right in the palm of your hand, with no one left to stop you? It felt like the ultimate victory.

"Alpha!" Daniel called out, breaking my thoughts. His voice pulled me out of my daydream, bringing my attention back to the present moment. "Does this mean you would free me from this curse?" He asked.

There was a faint hint of hope in his eyes, a desperate longing to finally be rid of the heavy burden he had been carrying for so long.

My smile deepened, turning into something much colder, though I made sure he couldn’t see the cruelty behind it.

Of course I would, only after he is of no use, but wouldn’t that end up with him being dead? The only true way to be free from a bond like this was death, but I wasn’t about to tell him that just yet. He was still far too valuable to me right now. He should have been satisfied with taking the antidotes monthly, keeping himself alive and functional under my control instead of begging for total freedom.

I took a deep breath, smoothing down my clothes, and smiled at him with fake warmth. "Yes Daniel!" I paused, letting the false promise hang heavily in the air between us. "You would be as free as a bird." I added, giving him the exact answer he wanted to hear just to keep him loyal.

But suddenly, I felt a certain presence, and my wolf became restless. A sudden shift in the air made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, and my inner wolf started pacing around wildly, growling in warning. Someone was right outside.

"You are dismissed Daniel!" I said immediately, my tone snapping back to a sharp command. "Go through the other entrance!" I added, pointing toward the private back door so he wouldn’t run into whoever was waiting on the other side.

"Yes Alpha!" He says immediately, as he bowed respectfully.

He didn’t question the sudden change in my mood. He quickly turned around and hurried out of the room through the side door, disappearing into the shadows.

The moment he left the room, I removed my mask, letting my fake smile drop instantly. I walked straight to the other door, my heart beating rapidly against my ribs.

I grabbed the handle, pulling the heavy wood open. The moment I saw who stood there, I paled. All the color drained from my face, and my breath caught painfully in my throat.

How could this be possible? Out of all the people in the world, how could it be her?

How could she be my mate?
