Chapter 639: Spineless Arrogance - 1

James immediately got up from his seat and opened the door to see the panting soldier.

"Where are they?"

"My Lord, they have been sighted a kilometer away. By now, they should be arriving within a minute."

"Good work informing me. Rest for a while and get back to your work."

The soldier looked a bit confused.

"My Lord, what about the preparations?" he slowly asked.

Whenever the convoys would arrive, the entire castle would go into high alert mode to make sure the party didn’t have anything to complain about. Because they had the courage to nitpick even the smallest things, as if the castle belonged to them.

They had even gone as far as complaining about a horse suddenly taking a dump in the stables, far back in a corner of the castle inner walls that had come into their line of sight while they were looking around, as if it was the most heinous thing they had ever seen.

Leo, standing in the back, stretched his body as if getting prepared to do something satisfying.

"Don’t need to worry about that, because they will be leaving soon and never coming back."

Saying that, he turned towards Kaelion.

"Let’s go and see what type of people are trying to threaten Brother James."

This time, Lily stopped Sera from accompanying James.

"Sister Sera, please rest and watch how things will be settled." She grinned.

"I have already told Leo to pay them back for all the trouble they caused to a lady carrying a baby."

"But—"

"No buts."

Saying that, she made Sera sit on a chair and shifted her towards a window on the 3rd floor, from where the entire courtyard of the castle was visible.

Meanwhile, Leo and the others were just walking towards the door when Leo suddenly had a thought.

"Brother James, don’t people need to get an overflight permit to fly with their beasts above the city if they’re coming uninformed?"

"Generally, yes. Unless it’s an emergency or they’re a known individual."

Leo then looked towards Kaelion and smiled.

"Ahhhh~" A man groaned in relief as a manservant massaged his legs.

He, along with 14 other people, was riding on two Skyrend Eagles and approaching Kendru City.

"Ramu, what are you planning to eat today?" he asked a man sitting beside him, who was receiving the same type of massage from another servant.

"Hehe, I like their dishes made out of Orc meat. They better have it already prepared, or else I’m taking their City Lord today itself and presenting him in front of Lord Hubert so that he can be swiftly killed and one of us can become the new City Lord," Ramu said lazily as he spotted Kendru City in the distance.

"Oh? We already reached."

Then he patted the back of the Skyrend Eagle.

"These extremely strong Mid 2-star Skyrend Eagles are surely fast. I bet Lord Hubert is extremely impressed with us to give us this gift. Isn’t it right?"

"Haha, damn right. Nobody has even been given the opportunity to ride on these rare and strong specimens that can reach the Mid 2-star. Since we were given them, of course we’re special." The other guy, Dama, laughed.

They laughed and started to formulate ways to pressure James.

"Let’s seize one of the beasts as collateral until the required amount of land is captured."

"That way, he’ll die sooner."

"Nah, he’ll probably know that we’re trying to kill him and run away. Better, let’s keep his wife. Didn’t you see how beautiful she is? And I can even guarantee her cooking is even better than those chefs in the core cities. No, many times better. We’ll get the city and the beauty."

"What about that butler? He also looks decently strong and can be troublesome."

"Nah, don’t worry. I have many ways to fuck him over. Let’s just make sure that whoever becomes the City Lord between us, the other guy gets the power to control the city defence. That way, we can easily get hold of the whole city!"

By now, they were already near the city and told the Beast Master controlling the eagle to make a round over the city, as if wanting to get a proper look at something that would soon be theirs.

"Hoho, this James idiot is really good, I have to admit."

"Yeah, generous too. He’s giving us three things—his city, wife, and life!"

They both burst out laughing.

Skreeeee!

Suddenly, the leading eagle screeched and abruptly tried changing its path to avoid colliding with something.

Seeing the eagle in front, the one behind also panicked—the one Ramu and Dama were riding on—which made them tumble across its back, barely managing to stop their servants from falling.

"What the fuck are you doing?!" Ramu shouted at the Beast Master.

"That’s the question I should be asking!"

Suddenly, a loud voice echoed from the front, instantly making a chill crawl down people’s spines.

"Who—?!" Dama had only begun to speak when the same loud voice echoed again.

"What the fuck are you doing flying around the city without permission?!" Leo demanded in a fierce tone, and a strong gust of wind flowed through the sky, instantly throwing every passenger on board into the air.

"What?!"

"AAAHHH!!!"

"NOO!!"

People began to fall from the sky, shouting in disbelief, as Leo stood in his place, floating without a worry.

He didn’t target the eagles, as they were trying to stabilize themselves and attempting to reach their masters, but the wind only pushed them back.

"Hmm, this [Scream] skill really does the work when used nicely."

Leo had just used the skill on his speech, making his voice louder and dangerous to anybody hearing it.

"Oh, can’t have them dying so early."

With that, Leo controlled the wind flow and threw the men back into the air.

And just the way Lily used wind to juggle people around in the air, Leo did the same until he reached the open area above the castle.

But Leo’s control wasn’t as good as Lily’s, and people were getting thrown around erratically, making almost everybody vomit, their sickness flying along with them.

"Ugh..."

Leo spotted the two big-bellied individuals still vomiting tids-bits even after so long and could tell they were the leaders here.

When he made them land on the grass floor within the castle walls, he directly redirected all the vomit in the sky over both of them.

While himself coming down, he looked towards James and waved at the baffled man.

"Lord James! I caught these criminals trespassing the City’s airspace without permission!"
