Chapter 645: Justice Kick - 3
Chapter 645: Justice Kick - 3
"Your E-Excellency—"
"DIE!"
Grrraaaooohhh!! A muscular Bronze bull charged.
Before the judges and lawyers could even speak a word, Kartus’s summoned towering Bronze bull stomped over all of them, killing them instantly. And for anyone who managed to dodge, Kartus himself used Earthen Spears to skewer them like sausages.
Kartus’s haste made it clear that he didn’t want anyone to speak about how he had allowed the corruption to happen. And surprisingly, Kaelion chose to ignore that.
After the killing was done, Kartus personally came over and slit the throats of the Judge and Lawyer that Kaelion had previously dragged out. Following that, he once again bowed before Kaelion after unsummoning his Low 4-star Bull.
"Kartus, do you really think I am such a fool that I cannot figure out the obvious?"
"S-sir, please, just once, give me a single chance—"
"Look up," Kaelion simply said.
The moment Kartus looked up,
Slash!
Kaelion slashed across Kartus’s face with his elongated, pearly white claws, formed due to his Soul-Fusion with Singham.
There was a moment of silence as Kartus registered what had happened, until he realized he could no longer see with his right eye and a searing pain was spreading across his entire face.
Sprut!
Blood gushed out, and Kartus threw himself back while clutching his face and writhing on the ground.
"AAAHHHH!!!" he shouted.
Somehow, Kaelion had kept the man alive.
"You will live with that mark of shame for the whole of your life as punishment, and I am sure I don’t need to say what needs to be done." Kaelion pointed at the Court building, and the next moment, the Skyreaver high in the sky unleashed a thick bolt of lightning through its beak that crashed down toward the building.
KABOOOOOMM!!
Clat—clutter!
The whole building was blasted apart, and its debris scattered all over the place.
"Ahhh! Ahh! Ah!" Kartus was still screaming, but somehow, he managed to quieten his voice.
"Yes! AHH!"
"I-I ahh, I will rebuild everything! Arrghh! Everything! And this time, aahhh! I will hire only good people, aaarrhhhggg... And ahh... I will change, arrgh, my ways..."
Somehow, Kartus managed to say it, and Kaelion only nodded without even feeling a hint of pity.
Leo could hear the cheers of civilians outside the soldiers’ encirclement who had come to see the spectacle. This just showed how much common people were troubled by a wrongful court.
"Remember what you said, because the next time any complaint comes about you, you will find your heart slashed instead of your eyes."
Leo finally understood why Kartus was being spared. It was to save Kaelion the trouble of finding a new person to act as a head and going through lengthy procedures. Not to mention, a person with a Low 4-star beast was already a rare sight in the Empire. One could not simply kill them and find a quick replacement.
This was also the reason Umar was given a way out. Good or bad, Umar was indeed a ruler of a vast region in the Empire, directly or indirectly. Eliminating him would simply mean eliminating the support system that kept the region functioning. And Kaelion was very knowledgeable in this field, so he knew that if Umar were to die for immediate satisfaction, in the end, as the person killing him, he would unwillingly get tangled up in selecting a new heir.
Which was, of course, not suited for a 1st-term academy student whose very important period of the Inter-Academy Competition was about to begin within a week.
This entanglement was the major reason many powerhouses who were not interested in ruling a vast region refrained from killing City Lords who had offended them. But this act slowly made these said City Lords entitled and gave them a false sense of feeling that they had protection.
Which was the same feeling Umar was going through.
But that didn’t mean there weren’t other ways of punishment.
"Lord Milti," Kaelion now turned toward Umar, who immediately straightened up.
"I am waiting for the punishment that you give to the unruly subordinates."
"Y-yes!"
He immediately turned toward Hubert, who was shaking in his boots and on the verge of collapsing under his heavy weight.
"M-my-my L-Lord! I-I was just taking revenge f-for my grandson who was killed by Vintage and new City Lord James! Please talk with the Imperial Punisher!" Hubert pleaded as the soldiers holding him stretched him wide open. One even held his head up so that if Umar wanted to slash his neck, it would be easy.
Umar raised his head and shouted.
"Let the civilians come in! For the offence Hubert Milti had committed, which made the lives of innocent people difficult, I punish him with public execution!"
Umar’s eyes were unusually fierce while staring at Hubert, as if telling him not to speak anything more.
"Ohh..." Leo understood it. He had interestingly read a book named "Ways Of The Nobles Part 7", in which it talked about how nobles faced with the situation of punishing their subordinates without any prior notice in front of an Empire official would have already made things settled so that the noble didn’t get trapped.
And that was family hostage.
In this, Umar must have already talked with his subordinates that if they were caught, they shouldn’t open their mouths to trap Umar himself, because if they did, Umar would go ahead and slaughter all of Hubert’s family.
This way, if Umar was indeed an accomplice, he wouldn’t get trapped in front of Kaelion, with no chance of Hubert opening his mouth because a man’s dearest thing is their family, even at death, be it a good, bad, neutral, or evil person.
And if the death was certain, they would never drag their family along with them if there was a chance. Of course, there were always exceptions to this, but Hubert wasn’t one of them.
"M-my Lord, I was j-just avenging my grandson... please, forgive me and provide me with justice..."
"You want justice? You will get a justice kick!"
Tham!
Umar kicked right at the center of Hubert’s chest, throwing the man away from the soldiers’ hold with his chest slightly caved in that made him wheeze. After which, Umar unsheathed his sword and aimed it at his neck.
In the distance, Vintage was shedding silent tears.
Father, you are finally getting your revenge...
He closed his eyes, recalling his face, then opened them to see Umar slash across Hubert’s neck, after which the head rolled onto the ground.
"WOOAAAHHH!!"
"Yeaaaahhhh!!"
"Finally!"
"Long live the Empire! It always cares about us!"
"This fat fuck finally got his punishment!"
The crowd of people cheered in happiness and sang praises of the Empire.
"Lord of Milti City, Umar Milti," Kaelion once again began, making the person in question shiver, already fearing what Kaelion might make him do.
"Due to your negligence, a once flourishing city had so many opportunities snatched away. What are your plans to compensate for that, and, of course, what are the future measures you will take? Because I promise you, the next time, it won’t be your subordinate’s head."
