Chapter 644: Justice Kick - 2

Umar nervously chuckled.

"Haha, you have to be joking. I am just excited and a bit nervous to get a chance to talk with someone as important as you," he responded to Kaelion’s questions.

"I wonder if that’s really the case..."

Kaelion then pointed at Dama and Ramu.

"Do you recognize those two?"

Umar looked towards them and stared for a while.

"I-uh... vaguely remember them as having extremely far relations with the Milti family... Not sure though..." Umar responded, hoping for the best.

Leo immediately understood the cleverness of this man. By saying this, Umar could simply have these two get punished instead of dragging the whole family into it.

Dama and Ramu writhed in their bindings, and Leo loosened the straps around their mouths for them to speak.

"My Lord! I-I am Dama, Dama Milti! And he is Ramu Milti! W-we are family members from the west! Please save us!"

Umar gritted his teeth.

"I don’t know any of you. Do you think just inheriting the family name makes you eligible to claim the benefits and protection of the family? Then just dream on!"

"L-Lord! Please, save us! Lord Hubert knows about us!"

Wow... ’Bro, they found us’... is this what is happening here? Leo internally mused. This completely sealed the deal for whoever Hubert was.

Even Kaelion couldn’t hide his smile.

"So, Lord Milti, I don’t think you can keep pretending to not know them? This Hubert person seems pretty influential, no?"

Dama and Ramu realized their mistake and immediately shut their mouths, but it was already too late. Umar had no choice but to send his men to arrest Hubert and bring him here while Kaelion once again proceeded to narrate the crimes committed by the Empire officials, Dama, Ramu, and Hubert to Umar Milti, since he seemed genuinely unaware of what was happening.

"Lord Milti, if you are this lazy in handling your subordinates that it allows them to go to such extreme lengths and commit a crime, I wonder if it’s suited for you to keep remaining a City Lord."

"P-please understand, Sir Kaelion. I handle a very huge region of the Empire that requires me to have many subordinates like Hubert. And it’s not really in my full control to keep watch over all of them."

Kaelion narrowed his eyes and then glanced towards Leo. Leo’s ears immediately perked up, because right now, Kaelion was going to teach him something.

"Well, if that’s the case, I wonder if you have any punishment systems that punish your unruly subordinates. I would very much like to see it with my own eyes so I can be assured that you aren’t involved in any of this."

Umar hastily nodded.

"Of course, of course, there’s a very harsh punishment for this offense!"

Hm? Did Kaelion voluntarily give this Umar a way out? Leo thought. Right now, Kaelion was saving Umar Milti from punishment, judging by the way things were going.

At that time, someone came running out of the Court building. The man was very built, almost six feet tall, with bronze muscular skin and shiny black hair. But he radiated the aura of a Peak 3-star being, even stronger than Umar.

The moment he spotted Kaelion at the center of the scene, he rushed towards him and immediately kowtowed right at his legs.

"I am very sorry!!" he shouted, shocking each and every person in the vicinity except Kaelion.

This was the head of the Empire Court—Kartus, and he was a very prideful man. Being the strongest in the city, his arrogance had no bounds and would even go as far as to give subtle threats to Umar—the City Lord—if his demands weren’t fulfilled.

And here was the same man bowing down in front of Kaelion.

Smash!

Kartus smashed his head against the ground, breaking the brick tiles beneath him.

"Please forgive this fool’s mistake! I deserve punishment for not being able to perform my duties as expected!"

"You are?" Kaelion asked.

Kartus kept his head plastered against the tiles and began speaking.

"I am Kartus, the head of the Milti City branch of the Imperial Court."

Tham!

Kaelion kicked right at the man’s face, sending him flying towards a group of soldiers who immediately made way so as not to interrupt his flight, making Kartus smash against a wall.

"Kartus," Kaelion began.

"Being the head of an Imperial Court, do I need to remind you of your duties?"

"Cough, cough!" Kartus coughed, but immediately bowed at the same place where he had crashed.

"N-no! I am completely aware of my duties!" he shouted through his bleeding mouth so that his voice could reach Kaelion.

"Then would you care to explain what is happening in the court that has been entrusted to you by the Empire?"

"It’s all my mistake that happened due to my oversight! Please give me a chance to repent!" Kartus pleaded.

By that time, the soldiers had brought the panicking Hubert—another fat-bellied individual with brown hair. But nobody spoke a thing while Kaelion was engaged with Kartus.

"You want to repent? Let’s see how you repent, because if I am not satisfied, you will repent with your life."

"T-thank you for your grace," Kartus said in genuine thanks.

While he was contacting people to help deal with Kaelion and the huge avian beast high up in the sky, he received the most dreaded call an Empire official head could receive.

A judgement call and a punishment order, directly to be enforced by the Imperial Punishment Officer who was present at the scene. And according to the call, the punishment officer was none other than Kaelion.

And whenever an Imperial Punisher was sent anywhere, it was at the officer’s discretion whether someone or many people needed to be executed, the whole facility was to be razed, or the offenders were to be sent to prison for their crimes. This was the reason Kartus was so scared. Kaelion literally had the right to kill every official at the scene, including him.

Umar was already sweating bullets at the scene and could only glare at Hubert venomously.

He had explicitly commanded every subordinate not to cross the line, even if the line was vague. And here, the vague line was James’s connection with someone from Aurelius Beast Academy.

And for that, Hubert would pay the price. Because as a City Lord, Umar Milti had a degree of protection, especially as someone ruling such a vast area, but Hubert didn’t. And to make things easier for Umar himself to escape intact, he would need to sacrifice Hubert.
