Leo, James, and Vintage simply acted like bystanders as they watched Kaelion do his thing.

"Now say, how is the Empire going to save you two?" Kaelion asked menacingly while the judge and the lawyer started to grovel at his feet.

"W-we made a mistake! Please forgive us!" the lawyer pleaded.

"Y-yes! It will never be repeated again! Please let us go just this once—ahh!"

Kaelion kicked the judge in his fat belly before he could finish his sentence, sending the man rolling away.

"How many lives did that stomach even consume to grow that much?"

He then sharply turned towards the Empire Court building, making the other lawyers and judges who were watching the scene flinch hard.

"I am sure you are not alone in this one. Wouldn’t it be best to replace this whole facility?"

"Hm?" Leo also turned towards the building when he felt a person with considerable strength rummaging through his things in one of the rooms inside the court building. The object the man was rummaging through even seemed to send communication signals.

"Is he the head that these people are talking about?" Leo muttered.

Since a judicial head position—though having power—was dangerous in many ways, a person of proper strength was required for it. Dangerous in the sense that if a judgement was passed against someone and he or she held a grudge against the head, the head could very well be assassinated if he wasn’t strong enough. This even led to wrongful decisions if the head was weak, because he could be forced to pass the wrong judgement under threat.

At that time, Leo turned towards the Skyrend Eagle convoy that was descending towards their location.

Kaelion immediately proceeded to wear his academy badge and bring out a communication talisman.

When the judge and lawyer saw the badge, their expressions made it clear that they had already accepted their fate.

Even Dama and Ramu had similar expressions as they turned towards Leo, not hoping for the worse.

Leo smiled at their faces and brought out his own badge before wearing it.

A reason for them to not kill James outright through an assassination attempt.

"City Lord Umar Milti," Kaelion said without a change in his tone, there was still that threatening edge to it that he used for the judge and lawyer.

"You seem to be awfully scared of something. May I take it that you are aware of your crimes?"
