Chapter 139: CH 139: Between Life and Death
"Warriors, prepare yourselves. The enemy has arrived!"
The archers continued firing their arrows, and the distance between them and the enemy army had become eight kilometers, but the Falcon race and the Silent Crow race, who were capable of flying, had already arrived.
The Falcons and Silent Crows fired arrows at the Elves from the sky, but their arrows could not penetrate the Elves’ armor. When they realized that this tactic was useless, they drew their weapons and descended to face the Elves directly!
But at this moment, something strange began happening behind the enemy army.
All those warriors who had died began to have strange white points and spheres emerge from their bodies and rise toward the Array above!
These white points and spheres emerged from the corpses of all the races except the Giants!
When the Array attempted to pull these things from them, a strange gray mist emerged from their bodies!
But the Array did not stop there. The corpses on the ground began rising once again, even those who had lost their heads or feet!
All the corpses rose from their places like the undead, and this time, the Giant race was no exception!
Within moments, tens of thousands of corpses rose from the ground and began attacking the enemy army from behind!
Titan Anar frowned upon seeing this and looked toward the souls that had begun rising toward the defensive Array, then looked toward the corpses that had begun attacking his armies. "The Soul Path and the cosmic law of Life!"
The rear of the enemy army became occupied with repelling the undead, and the more corpses accumulated, the greater the number of undead became.
While the undead fought the ground army, the Array directed the souls toward the aerial army to fight the Falcons and Silent Crows!
And whenever someone from the aerial army fell, they would rise again as an undead corpse to fight their former allies.
"Hahahaha, even in His Majesty’s absence, his blessing is still with us!" The commander of the Elf forces shouted happily upon seeing these new changes, and he quickly ordered them to increase the intensity of their attack!
The morale of the Elves rose, and with it, the ferocity of their attacks increased several times. And as time passed, the number of undead from both sides continued to increase... but one person was not pleased with this situation.
"So this is the trap you prepared. Good, good. I have to admit, it has far exceeded my expectations. I wonder which organization sold you something like this in the Eternal Night Heaven, or did you obtain it from that entity?" Titan Anar frowned as he pondered, then turned his face toward the central region of the City of Light and flew toward it. "But it no longer matters where you got it from, because I will destroy it now!"
Titan Anar stood above the Royal Palace, and beneath him was another Array protecting the palace.
Anar extended his hand, and a spear made of flesh and bone began forming within it. At the tip of the spear was a gray aura surrounding it. Anar then pointed the spear toward the defensive Array surrounding the palace, and a strange buzzing sound was heard the moment the bone spear touched the Array!
ZZZZZZZZZZ!
The spear slowly advanced, piercing through the Array, and after opening a large enough hole, Anar pulled his hand backward and then launched it toward the palace with all his strength!
The spear shot forward with tremendous speed and force, causing massive destruction throughout the Royal Palace and killing and injuring thousands of people, including Yasmin!
Just moments ago, the palace attendants had been watching the situation through the windows, but suddenly, the Royal Palace exploded, sending their bodies flying in every direction across hundreds of meters.
Several hundred meters away from the Royal Palace, beneath the rubble, lay Yasmin’s mutilated body.
She had lost the lower half of her body and her left arm, while the rest of her body had been horribly mutilated!
She was in a state between life and death at this moment, but what truly prevented her from dying was a white disc attached to her chest!
After destroying the Royal Palace that had stood proudly for one hundred thousand years as a witness to the history of the Elves, the bone spear stood directly above the core of the defensive Array, destroying it!
In the sky, the defensive barrier surrounding the City of Light was canceled, and the souls attacking the enemies disappeared.
On the ground, the undead stopped moving and fell dead once again, allowing the enemy army to catch its breath and focus on attacking the Elves!
When Anar saw that the situation had begun turning in his favor, Titan Anar smiled, descended, grabbed his bone spear, and sat beside it atop the rubble!
---
Several hundred kilometers away, above one of the highlands, two men hid among the trees. One of them held something resembling a telescope!
"Chief, what’s happening over there?" The other man quickly looked toward the chief holding the telescope when he saw his leader’s aura fluctuating.
"Shut up, Billy. Your voice is more annoying than what’s happening over there!" The chief waved his hands impatiently.
"Oh, are things really that bad!" Billy placed his hands over his mouth, but his voice still came out between his fingers.
"Oh, shit, since when do our relatives possess weapons with that kind of power! And what are those things?"
"Wait a moment, can our relatives control ghosts and the dead?" The chief’s eyes widened when he saw the undead rise from their deaths and attack their allies.
"Control ghosts and the dead!" Billy was stunned when he heard this and reached out and tugged at the chief’s robe. "Chief, I want to see too!"
BOOM!
"You bastard, are we spying on Elf women bathing in the lake for you to ask me for the telescope every minute?" The chief punched Billy hard in the face, causing it to cave in and his nose to bleed. "I don’t want to hear your voice until I ask you for something, or I’ll hang you from one of those trees!"
The chief looked through the telescope toward the City of Light again, and his eyes soon widened. "Damn it, how powerful is that Giant! Could he have reached Level Four!"
The chief felt his entire body tense at this possibility, and he quickly furrowed his brows. "Damn it, it seems our relatives are in a bad situation."
"Do you intend to intervene, Chief?" Billy removed his hand from his mouth and quickly asked.
"Damn it, forget it. I won’t move from this spot as long as that Abomination is there!" The chief said in a firm voice, making his decision clear, then turned toward Billy.
"Besides, didn’t I tell you I don’t want to hear your voice unless I give you permission?"
