Chapter 138: CH 138: Trap
In one of the palaces of the City of Light.
"Please, Chief Gao, calm down a little. The guards will handle this." A green-haired maid ran behind the former advisor Gao and was almost in tears because she could not stop him. "You are currently under house arrest. The guards won’t allow you to leave the palace!"
"Do you think my city is being attacked and expect me to remain inside these damn walls!" Chief Gao waved his hands and pushed the door open forcefully, but the moment he stepped outside, he found someone standing in front of him!
"Where are you going, you old bastard!" Tala, the green-haired girl who had previously been tasked with going to the Falcon race to request their assistance before Rios arrived at the City of Light, stood in front of him. She was also Chief Gao’s granddaughter.
"My dear granddaughter, our city is being attacked right now, and you don’t expect me to stay here like a coward, do you!" Old Gao grabbed Tala’s hand and smiled nervously.
But before Tala could answer him, the sound of alarms rang throughout the entire city. But these were not warning alarms. They were evacuation alarms!
Hearing this, Tala furrowed her brows and then looked toward her grandfather. "Follow me."

Elsewhere, at the outskirts of the city, in the house of the old woman whom Ethar had been taking care of.
The old woman sat beneath the tree in the middle of her courtyard as usual, holding a withered flower and playing with it between her hands as she smiled calmly. "It seems the time for our meeting has finally come!"
The old woman looked toward the blue moon in the sky, and two streams of tears rolled down her cheeks. "Thank you, little bull, for keeping this old woman company in her loneliness. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to see you again...!"
Before the old woman could finish her words, a huge shadow fell over her, covering the entire courtyard of her small house, and then...
BOOOM!
The foot of a thirty-meter-tall Giant descended onto the courtyard, turning it into rubble. The Giant continued on his way without noticing the thing he had crushed, while thousands of Giants followed behind him!
Within a few minutes, the six armies entered the City of Light and began wreaking havoc throughout it!
But most of the buildings on the outskirts of the city that they destroyed were empty of Elves, with only a few who had been late to evacuate remaining behind!
As soon as the last member of the allied army entered the City of Light, followed by Titan Anar, the destroyed section of the Array began fusing together and rebuilding itself, while the destroyed parts of the city walls began returning to their original state once again!
"So it works as a trap as well." Titan Anar smiled upon seeing the Array’s new ability, then turned his attention toward the advancing armies. "Then show me what you prepared for me in this trap!"
---
In the outer region of the city center.
Fifty thousand Elf warriors stood here, most of them at Level Two, while only a little over three hundred were at Level Three!
But this small army was not without assistance. They were equipped from head to toe with Level Four equipment.
Equipment that could easily raise the strength of Level Two warriors to the peak of Level Three, while the sharpness of their weapons made cutting down Level Three warriors incredibly easy!
But what they were preparing to face was not merely an army equal to them in number, or even one several times larger. They were in the midst of facing an army consisting of six million warriors, including one million Level Three Giants, in addition to more than four thousand Level Three warriors belonging to the five races!
It was an army one hundred times larger than theirs!
The small Elf army stood on elevated ground, and at its front stood ten thousand archers. The archery commander raised his hands into the air.
"Prepare yourselves!" When he saw that the enemy army was ten kilometers away from them, he lowered his hands and shouted!
"Fiiiiire!"
In an instant, nearly ten thousand arrows were fired toward the enemy army, landing directly in the center of their forces and causing casualties estimated at tens of thousands of lives.
The Giant Kings and the kings of the five races frowned upon seeing this and quickly issued their orders.
"Scatter and advance!"
Seeing the enemy army scatter, the archery commander frowned, but he gritted his teeth and gave another order.
"Fiiiiire!"
The second wave of arrows was launched, but this time the casualties were far lower.
Only a few thousand!
The archers did not stop with this wave. Instead, they continued firing wave after wave of arrows without stopping!
At the rear of the small Elf army, both old Gansh and the girl Lona stood wearing white armor, prepared to face the enemy army!
When old Gansh and the girl Lona met Rios in the territory of Giant Anj, old Gansh was then approaching the peak of Level Two, with a progress of 70%, while Lona was one step away from Level Two, with a progress of 90%.
But after they used the Nine Lotus Leaf Array, old Gansh reached Level Three, a level he had never dreamed of reaching in his lifetime, while Lona reached the peak of Level Two, one step away from Level Three!
"Do you still have that thing His Majesty gave you?" Lona turned toward old Gansh and whispered in a weak voice.
"Yes, I have it with me." Old Gansh nodded and took out a small white disc resembling a coin, just like the one Yasmin had held while bidding farewell to Rios and the army that had gone on the campaign.
"His Majesty said that it could save our lives during difficult times. Do you think that’s true?" Lona took out a disc like the one old Gansh was holding and clenched it tightly.
"His Majesty has created many miracles, and I don’t think this time will be an exception." Old Gansh smiled confidently and continued, "Besides, I can’t imagine a situation that could be more difficult than this, so we will soon find out just how useful these discs are."
"Mm!"
Lona nodded and was preparing to say something else, but she suddenly heard the commander’s voice.
"Warriors, prepare yourselves. The enemy has arrived!"
