Chapter 121: The Past (2)
"Using this loophole, along with his profound understanding of the Laws, he too managed to manipulate the world’s rules just as the World Spirit did. However, he could do so with far greater freedom than she ever could, because the rules and laws that bound the World Spirit did not apply to him—a cosmic being!"
The Falcon King narrowed his eyes as he revealed these truths. He felt a slight heaviness in his breathing, as though this conversation would change many of the continent’s rules from this day forward.
"By manipulating those rules, he guided that group of humans and lured them into serving him. Using his abilities, he transformed them with the First Dragon’s blood into humanoid dragons... what we know today as the Dragon Race."
The Falcons looked at one another in astonishment after learning the true origins of the Dragon Race, the world’s second race after humanity.
"After becoming humanoid dragons, they chose to serve the Lord instead of the World Spirit.
The World Spirit naturally disliked that. Fortunately for her, the Lord had weakened after making that move. After seeing how humans had been transformed into humanoid dragons, the World Spirit carried out her second act. She extracted another portion of the Lord’s blood essence and used it to evolve another creature—one of the most savage beings ever born for battle and war...
The second beast in this world to possess a Heaven-grade Mutated Bloodline... the Golden Lion!"
The Falcon King paused for a moment, sorting through his thoughts.
Was revealing all of this the right decision or the wrong one? Wise or reckless? In the end, he clenched his teeth and continued.
"The World Spirit guided another group of humans to that Golden Lion through divine revelation. This time, however, they did not use its blood to awaken their power as their human predecessors had done. Instead, they used it in the same manner as the humanoid dragons.
Thus, they became the third race in this world... what we now know as the Golden Lions.
Unlike the Dragons, who chose the Lord’s side, the Golden Lions chose the World Spirit."
The Falcon King let out a mocking laugh at the way this world’s history had unfolded before continuing.
"And naturally, just as their masters were enemies, the Dragons and the Golden Lions also became mortal enemies.
Hundreds of battles and wars erupted between them over long decades and centuries.
Wars that engulfed the entire continent before it reached the size we know today.
They stood at the center of every conflict, while humans were nothing more than a footnote—servants to both races, sexual tools whenever needed, and breeding vessels to increase their numbers!
But that balance between the two races did not last forever..."
The King laughed bitterly at humanity’s miserable history before his expression immediately darkened.
"In the midst of the conflict between the Lord and the World Spirit, a change occurred that no one had foreseen...
The Immortal Tree of Cradle!"
The Falcon King held his breath before continuing.
"It was the first being with an Immortal Bloodline ever born in this world.
Since there were no obstacles preventing advancement to the Fourth Level back then, the Immortal Tree of Cradle reached it very quickly, and its strength surpassed everyone else at the Fourth Level. This alarmed both the Lord and the World Spirit because it refused to take either side and threatened to ruin the game between them. And that was not the only reason..."
Everyone in the hall grew tense after hearing so many revelations about the world’s forgotten history, and countless speculations arose in their minds.
"What concerned them the most was the Immortal Tree of Cradle’s ability to transform humans into Elves without requiring the intervention of either the Lord or the World Spirit.
As a being with an Immortal Bloodline, the Elves it created inherited much of its talent.
Even if they did not possess Immortal Bloodlines like their progenitor, it was still possible for some Elves to awaken Heaven-grade Bloodlines, while many others awakened Legendary Bloodlines.
The Dragons and Golden Lions, on the other hand, descended from beasts with Heaven-grade Mutated Bloodlines. Among them, it was exceedingly rare for anyone to awaken a Heaven-grade Bloodline, while only a handful awakened Legendary Bloodlines."
The King sighed sympathetically and shook his head. The Falcons were no different from the Dragons and the Golden Lions.
"In addition to the terrifying power of the Immortal Tree of Cradle, it was also extraordinarily intelligent.
It transformed countless humans into Elves, raised vast armies, and conquered a large portion of the continent after defeating the Dragons and the Golden Lions in numerous battles and wars.
At that point, the Lord personally intervened and sent a portion of his blood essence into one of the flying beasts.
That beast became the ancestor from whom we inherited our bloodline—the third beast on this continent to possess a Heaven-grade Mutated Bloodline.
The Storm Falcon!"
The King smiled proudly as he spoke of their origins, while those around him were once again astonished by information most of them had never known.
"As before, another group of humans was guided by the Lord’s revelation to the Storm Falcon, where they obtained its blood and became what we are today.
The Falcon Race!"
The King looked at his own hand, slowly clenched it into a fist, and smiled as he continued.
"We were originally created to help the Dragons and the Golden Lions halt the advance of the Tree of Cradle."
His smile grew even more confident.
"And we succeeded!
Thanks to our overwhelming superiority in the skies, together with the Dragons and the Golden Lions, we forced the Immortal Tree of Cradle and the Elves into retreat. Unfortunately, we were never able to defeat them."
The Falcon King shook his head regretfully over that disgraceful outcome.
"That stalemate continued for decades, until the Immortal Tree of Cradle did something it never should have done."
The King smiled mockingly, shook his head, and continued.
"No one knows exactly what it did, but whatever it was enraged both the Lord and the World Spirit—especially the Lord."
The Falcon King’s body trembled involuntarily as he reached this part.
"The Lord’s fury shook the heavens, and lightning covered the skies of the entire world.
It was a night straight out of hell. Most of the continent’s inhabitants perished, and no one at the Fourth Level survived except those with Heaven-grade talent or higher... including the Tree of Cradle itself!"
Shock after shock swept through the entire hall. The truth they were hearing far exceeded anything they had ever imagined.
"After witnessing the Lord’s overwhelming wrath, the Tree of Cradle immediately retreated. It surrendered and finally decided to join one of the two sides...
But it set several conditions first."
