Chapter 83: The Cost
Yet it wasn’t devoid of life either...
Looking around, Rios discovered that some tiny blades of grass had sprouted tiny grass-like limbs. They left the ground and began running around aimlessly, without purpose or thought.
In the rivers, he saw some water gathering together, forming something that resembled a snake.
The watery snake started leaping wildly above and below the water as well, with no purpose and no thought.
Even the air gathered together, forming a floating sphere with a large, cheerful mouth.
That sphere was no exception either. It drifted through the sky without any destination or purpose.
After observing them for a while...
Rios noticed that these things, which had only just gained life, would wander this world aimlessly for a short time before completely exhausting the life energy they had obtained and returning to their original forms.

The moment those things returned to normal, other similar objects would come to life and wandering around just like them, without purpose or thought, until all of their life energy was depleted.

Rios stared at the scene in amazement and admiration, then muttered in an almost inaudible voice, afraid that making too much noise might cause his own voice to become a living creature like those things.
"Lily... how much does it cost to stay in a place like this?"
"The cost of staying within an Eternal Path Dimension depends on the law you choose, Master."
"If it’s a major law, then one hour costs one Prime."
"But if it’s a cosmic law, then one hour costs ten Prime." Lily smiled as she floated around him.
"Th-That’s expensive!" Rios blurted out, his mouth hanging open in shock.
If that were really true, then according to Lily, he would need over five hundred hours just to deepen his understanding of the cosmic law of Life.
That meant he would have to spend more than five thousand Prime merely to improve his comprehension of the cosmic law of Life.
And that was assuming he only possessed an Immortal-grade bloodline.
"Yes, Master, it is expensive... but it’s absolutely worth it." Lily nodded confidently.
"Does everyone who wants to comprehend their law have to stay here for that long and pay such a price?"
Rios frowned and asked seriously.
If that were true, then those with lower talent would have to spend enormous amounts of Prime just to comprehend a fourth-level law.
No matter how Rios looked at it, it was undoubtedly a losing deal.
He could only afford it because he possessed a relatively large amount of Prime.
But did everyone at his level have a similar amount?

"You have a golden assistant—me! That means the entire fourth level of the Eternal Path is completely open to you free of charge, with absolutely no restrictions."
Hearing those words, Rios blinked several times and stared at Lily in disbelief.
After taking a moment to process what she had just said, he finally opened his mouth and asked suspiciously,
"Does that apply to every door in the Eternal Path... or only to the cosmic law of Life?"
"Hahaha, Master, of course it applies to every door."
"As long as you don’t exceed the fourth level, every door is open for you to use whenever you want, for as long as you want."
"Once you surpass the fourth level, though, you’ll naturally have to start paying." Lily waved her hand playfully.
After receiving Lily’s confirmation, a crafty grin slowly spread across Rios’s face as he muttered in an almost inaudible voice,
"Hehehehe... this just keeps getting better and better."
"Well then... if I don’t have to pay anything, that certainly makes things much easier."
Rios sat down and took out two scrolls from his storage space.
One was the Gene Tracking Technique.
The other was the Level Four Cosmic Law of Life Comprehension Technique.
Rios picked up the Gene Tracking Technique first and began studying it.
He sent his spiritual sense into the scroll, and half an hour later, he finally opened his eyes.
"In terms of content alone, this technique contains barely thirty percent of what the Nine Lotus Leaves Technique contains."
"And it’s also much easier to understand." Rios murmured happily, his eyes lighting up.
Then he immediately began practicing it.
He sent his spiritual sense inward and started circulating his energy exactly as described in the Gene Tracking Technique.
One second later...
He saw everything.
