’Everything else on me is still here, so why did only the Scroll disappear?’

Lin Mo pondered the question. He refused to believe it was a mere coincidence. Perhaps it was related to the trial at hand.

Scroll, Space Magic...

And this vast, white, seemingly boundless space before him.

Lin Mo seemed to have realized something. He calmed himself, closed his eyes, and emptied his mind, entering a state similar to Meditation. Then, he revisited the knowledge of Space Magic in his head, going over it again, word by word.

Gradually, that faint, elusive sensation from before returned. And this time, perhaps due to the special nature of this space, it was significantly clearer.

He felt he was on the verge of a breakthrough, about to shatter his constraints.

Time trickled by. In this vast, white expanse, Lin Mo had no idea how long had passed.

He only knew that after a long period of trying, it finally came to him in a flash of inspiration. He had grasped something.

His fluctuating Magic Power finally caught a trace of the spatial flow. It was a profound and mysterious sensation. As he completely immersed his mind in the subtle changes of his Magic Power, it felt as though his entire being was sinking into the constant currents and overlaps of space itself.

Before his eyes, space seemed to become a tangible entity, composed of undulating frequencies.

Lin Mo attempted to use his Magic Power to interfere with the space before him. This time, he succeeded!

Riding this momentum, Lin Mo began to attempt using the [Flash] Skill.

After successfully breaking through the fundamentals of Space Magic, everything else seemed to fall into place. Without much effort, Lin Mo quickly grasped the knack of the Skill.

He opened his eyes and looked out into the vast, white space. Suddenly, his figure vanished, reappearing several meters away.

"Skill Comprehended: [Flash]. Received attribute points: Magic Power +2, Spirit +1."

’Three attribute points. Looks like Flash is an Excellence Level Skill.’

Lin Mo opened his panel to check on the Skill he had just acquired.

Sure enough, the Skill appeared in blue on the skill panel—the color for Excellence Level Skills.

[Flash]: Use Magic Power fluctuations to influence space, instantly teleporting yourself to any point within 5 meters.

The Skill’s Introduction was concise, leaving little to elaborate on.

Lin Mo tried using the Skill again. Normally, every use of Space Magic is like a gamble, possessing a certain degree of instability. In other words, the feeling of using Space Magic is completely different each time.

Lin Mo did indeed experience this phenomenon, but his Skill usage felt perfectly smooth, without the slightest hitch.

Lin Mo used Flash a few more times, and the result was the same. It felt as if it had been lubricated—impeccably smooth.

’Does this mean my Space Skills aren’t affected by spatial fluctuations?’

He couldn’t be certain after just a few attempts. It might also be related to the relative stability of this particular space. ’I’ll have to run more tests after I leave the Secret Realm.’

Of course, the Flash Skill was not without its limitations.

First, the Skill’s cost was not low. Its drain on both Magic Power and Spirit was higher than that of a typical Excellence Level spell.

Furthermore, because space possesses a powerful self-repairing quality, continuous Flashes were not possible.

There had to be an interval of at least ten seconds between two Flashes.

However, this didn’t mean the Skill’s hard limit was a ten-second wait. The delay was because Lin Mo wasn’t proficient enough yet; it took him a relatively long time to use his Magic Power to influence space again after it had repaired itself.

This should improve as his Skill Level increased.

As an Excellence Level Skill, just like his others, [Flash] also had different Evolutionary Paths.

Please select an Evolutionary Direction—

Evolutionary Path 1: Distance I: Increases Flash distance. Maximum distance becomes 10 meters.

Evolutionary Path 2: Carrying I: Flash can carry 1 additional target.

One Evolutionary Path increased the distance of Flash, while the other allowed him to bring someone else along.

From a purely combat-oriented perspective, Evolutionary Path 1 was undoubtedly the more suitable choice.

However, Evolutionary Path 2 could be used to save someone or launch an attack at a critical moment.

For example, if he encountered danger in battle, Lin Mo could Flash away with a teammate. Alternatively, he could bring Shefilya and Flash right into an opponent’s face as an aggressive opening move.

Both options were useful, but after careful deliberation, Lin Mo still chose the first.

Ideally, Evolutionary Path 2 offered greater tactical possibilities, but those were for special circumstances. Most of the time, Lin Mo fought alone, which made the versatility of Evolutionary Path 1 more valuable.

’Besides, there’s no rush. Once the Skill reaches Level 4, I can choose another Evolutionary Direction anyway.’

’I’ll just pick the second path then.’

Having learned the [Flash] Skill, he returned his focus to the present. He still couldn’t find a way out of this vast, white space.

However, Lin Mo now had a lead. While testing the [Flash] Skill’s effects, he’d had a subtle feeling, like a high-speed train about to derail and fly off its designated track.

But every time he tried, he was just missing something...
