He had also met the promotion requirements for Level 4 Assassin.

"Promotion requirements met. Professional Assassin (Lv3) promoted — Current Professional Assassin (Lv4)."

"Gained Professional Attribute Amplification: Strength +2, Agility +3!"

Just like with Level 4 Warrior, reaching Level 4 Assassin granted him 5 amplified attribute points. Lin Mo’s stats saw another significant boost.

But that wasn’t all!

In addition to those two skills, Lin Mo also leveled his [Wind Blade Skill] directly from Level 3 to the max of Level 5!

"Skill [Wind Blade Skill] Lv4 (100/100) has leveled up!"

"Current Skill: [Wind Blade Skill] Lv5 (Max)."

"Gained Attribute Points: Magic Power +1, Spirit +1!"

"Automatically evolved into a New Skill — Wind-Binding Blade!"

"Skill Comprehended: [Wind-Binding Blade]! Magic Power +2!"

[Wind-Binding Blade]: Uses Magic Power to form a blade entwined with a special airflow. On hit, the blade dissolves into a swirling current that reduces the target’s movement speed and continuously inflicts minor cutting damage for 3 seconds.

’This is also a skill focused on utility.’

’The damage probably isn’t much higher than [Wind Blade Skill], but it has the added slowing effect.’

Overall, Lin Mo was quite satisfied with his newly acquired Skills. They were all Excellent Level, but they each had unique characteristics and offered some utility, which was exactly what he needed right now.

He had plenty of offensive and defensive options, but he had always lacked crowd-control skills. Acquiring [Blizzard] earlier, and now [Wind-Binding Blade] and [Bone-Piercing Heavy Stab], finally filled that gap.

Of course, the more pleasant surprise was that with [Wind Blade Skill] reaching Full Level and his acquisition of [Wind-Binding Blade], Lin Mo’s Magic Power had increased by 3 points, reaching a total of 42!

This meant that in addition to his Assassin Profession, he was also about to become a Level 4 Mage.

"Promotion requirements met. Professional Mage (Lv3) promoted — Current Professional Mage (Lv4)."

"Gained Professional Attribute Amplification: Spirit +2, Magic Power +3!"

In just two or three days, Lin Mo’s power had once again taken a significant leap. He was now a Level 4 Warrior, Level 4 Assassin, Level 4 Mage, and a Level 3 Knight!

With this build, if he were to run into that Level 5 Giant Goblin from the other day, he could absolutely crush it with ease.

Even a Level 6 Giant Goblin would just require a little more time and caution to defeat.

This was the advantage of having multiple Professions and well-rounded Attributes.

Of course, besides Lin Mo, almost no one in the world could progress in so many Professions simultaneously. Even if they could, they would have far less Professional Attribute Amplification than he did.

’It’s about time I headed back...’

It was evening. After reading the notifications, Lin Mo prepared to start his journey home.

He had wandered rather deep today, he realized.

He had reached the edge of the outer zone and nearly crossed into the Deep Forest Area.

However, for the current Lin Mo, entering the Deep Forest Area was like a walk in the park; there was virtually no pressure.

The only issue was that the road back would be a little longer.

He set off on his way back, but before he had gotten far, his expression suddenly darkened.

’What’s this thing doing here?’

That’s right. Before him was a glistening green Slime, standing over two meters tall.

This wasn’t just an Ordinary Slime, but a Venomous Slime—a variant one tier higher than the Large Slime. Its Threat Level wasn’t low either, around Level 2.

’Why would something like this be in the outer zone?’

Loran Forest was a forest, not a Swamp. It was rare to encounter High-Level Slimes even in the Deep Forest Area. Even when wandering along the river, one would typically only run into a Large Slime at most. A higher-tier variant like this was extremely rare.

’Whatever. I’ll just get rid of it.’

Slimes were one of the Demons Lin Mo loathed the most, on par with Goblins.

Especially a big, glistening green one like this. The sight of it was nauseating.

Fortunately, he had Magic now, so he no longer had to touch such a Demon with his own weapons.

Lin Mo raised his hand, and the Fire Element rapidly condensed in his palm.

[Flaming Arrow]!

He had been prioritizing his [Wind Blade Skill], so his progress with [Flaming Arrow] was a bit slow. This was a good opportunity to grind it.

As expected, the Excellent Level Skill cast by a Level 4 Mage instantly one-shot the Slime.

Lin Mo didn’t think much of it. He used a branch to pry out and collect the Condensate from the Slime’s core, then continued on his way.

However, he hadn’t gone much farther when he suddenly encountered a pitch-black Cat Demon.

Compared to the Cursed Cat Demon Lin Mo had seen before, this creature’s appearance was clearly more peculiar. It was obviously an evolved form, a tier above the Cursed Cat Demon.

’What’s going on?’

As he pondered, Lin Mo raised his hand and fired a [Flaming Arrow] at the black Cat Demon.

The Cat Demon seemed to realize the danger and instantly dodged aside. It managed to narrowly avoid a direct hit, but the scorching Flame still ignited its fur and seared half its body, sending it rolling on the ground in agony.

Lin Mo stepped forward and finished it off with his Sword.

’Something’s strange...’

He looked in the direction from which the black Cat Demon had appeared.

’Once could be a coincidence, but twice... Something is definitely not right.’

’Could it be?’

As if he’d realized something, Lin Mo followed the path the black Cat Demon had taken. After searching the area for a while, he indeed found another Slime.

This one was a Flaming Slime. Lin Mo tried attacking it with a [Flaming Arrow] but failed to kill it.

’Just as the books say,’ he thought, ’some Demons have magic resistance.’

And Slimes, being rather unique creatures, were the most common type of resistant monster one might encounter.

A Level 4 Mage couldn’t kill a Level 2 Slime—in fact, it didn’t even seem to have taken much damage. Its resistance was impressively high. A typical Fire Mage would have had a real headache dealing with it.

For Lin Mo, however, it was a non-issue.

It was the perfect opportunity to test his new Skill, [Wind-Binding Blade]. A blade of wind, slightly larger and a shade darker than one from [Wind Blade Skill], flew out and precisely sliced the Flaming Slime in two.

After hitting the target, the Wind Blade didn’t dissipate. Instead, it transformed into a cyclone, violently churning and tearing the Slime’s body apart.

It was a very clear demonstration of the Skill’s effect.

[Wind-Binding Blade] Skill Level +14

"Skill [Wind-Binding Blade] Lv1 (10/10) has leveled up!"

"Current Skill: [Wind-Binding Blade] Lv2 (4/20)"

Since it was only Level 1 to begin with, [Wind-Binding Blade] leveled up smoothly after killing the Flaming Slime.

Lin Mo collected the Slime’s core and pressed on, encountering several more Demons along the path.

Their power varied greatly. Some were below Level 1, while others were Level 2 or Level 3. All of them were Demons that were bizarrely out of place in this area; some were exceptionally rare even in the Deep Forest Area or the Core Area.

And soon, Lin Mo found the cause of these anomalies...

The afterglow of the setting sun bathed the land. The surrounding vegetation was lush and vibrant, but in a small clearing ahead lay a long, narrow fissure—one that felt both jarringly abrupt and strangely natural.

A Secret Realm!

Secret Realms did exist in Loran Forest.

As someone who had personally set foot inside one before, Lin Mo knew this with absolute certainty.

Although he had been forced into it, he had gained a great deal from that trip to the Secret Realm.

These gains included the high-quality Flame Reagent he had consumed and the Flame Magic Stone currently embedded in his Secret Silver Gloves.

And now, the entrance to a Secret Realm had appeared before him once more...

Lin Mo walked up to the fissure and paused, hesitating.

’Should I go in?’
