Adventure: My Skills Evolve Infinitely

The fight itself was certainly easy. It felt like they had just started, and all the Goblins were already dead.

But cleaning up the battlefield afterward was a real hassle.

There were so many Goblins, and they had to cut off each one’s ears. It was a massive undertaking.

Everyone pitched in, and it still took them quite a while.

Thankfully, the fight had been quick enough that even with the cleanup, they had plenty of time to move on to the next quest.

The second quest was slightly more difficult.

They had to kill a Flame Cat Demon. Since Cat Demons were pack animals, there would likely be some ordinary Cat Demons and Cursed Cat Demons alongside the target.

Lin Mo was quite familiar with this type of Demon. He had dealt with them long ago and had occasionally run into them on the way to other quests recently.

Compared to Goblins, Cat Demons were clearly much faster and more agile. Wiping them all out would be no easy feat.

Fortunately, the quest didn’t require it. Cat Demons weren’t as much of a menace as Goblins; as long as you stayed out of the forests, they rarely caused trouble in human-inhabited areas. All they had to do was make sure to kill the main target, the Flame Cat Demon.

The two quest locations looked close on the overview map, but in reality, they were a considerable distance apart.

After all, there always had to be a buffer zone between two different Demon territories.

"About twenty kilometers to the northeast... We need to be careful. Cat Demons are highly alert, even when they’re sleeping."

Since the battle to clear the Goblin Settlement had been so easy, the group decided to forgo a rest and set out immediately.

Feney’s Physical Strength was still a bit of an issue on long treks like this. However, the others were considerate, keeping the pace from getting too fast. Thanks to the experience from their last few adventures, Feney had improved in this area and wasn’t holding them back too much.

The low mobility of Priests and Mages, especially at Low Levels, was a common problem for many Adventurer Squads.

Of course, it was a good problem to have.

After all, other teams would be green with envy to have a Priest and a Mage... Compared to that, this was a minor issue.

The main group’s pace was relatively slow, and since they were dealing with Cat Demons this time, the team’s Assassin, Sid, and Lin Mo went ahead to scout the path.

As he drew closer to the Cat Demon’s den, Lin Mo found patrolling Cat Demons, just as he’d expected.

But it was daytime, when Cat Demons slept. The afternoon, in particular, was when they were in their deepest sleep. So even though the three Cat Demons before him were on patrol, they looked listless, as if they wanted to lie down and fall asleep on the spot.

Lin Mo had always been a helpful person. At a time like this, he naturally wasn’t going to stand by and do nothing.

Invisibility!

He immediately entered his Invisibility state and rushed toward the three Cat Demons.

A Cat Demon was a Cat Demon, after all. It actually had some awareness. The lead Cursed Cat Demon looked up and glanced around, but in the next instant, Lin Mo’s Black Sword made intimate contact with its head.

Shadow Assault!

The sharp edge of his sword cleanly beheaded the Cursed Cat Demon.

Invisibility Skill Level +3!

Shadow Assault Skill Level +5!

A sub-adult Cursed Cat Demon gave the same amount of Skill Level as a sub-adult Mutated Goblin.

Therefore, for the Excellence Level Skill, Invisibility, the gain was somewhat diminished.

As the Cursed Cat Demon’s head hit the ground, the two other Cat Demons beside it flinched. They were just about to cry out when Lin Mo’s sword struck again.

Continuous Thrust!

His right hand thrust his sword through one Cat Demon’s throat. As for the one on the left...

Punching Fist!

Lin Mo’s left hand, clad in the Secret Silver Gloves, delivered a Punching Fist that caved its face in, just like in a cartoon.

There wasn’t much to say about the Ordinary Cat Demons. They were a bit stronger than Goblins, but not by much.

Meanwhile, Sid had encountered a similar patrol on his side and dealt with them just as quickly.

The two continued to advance from their different positions, with the main group following behind, all heading toward the Cat Demon’s den.

Punching Fist!

Lin Mo used this Skill quite a bit along the way.

For one, this Ordinary Level Skill leveled up quickly, showing immediate results. For another, the feeling of punching Demons was surprisingly satisfying—almost addictive.

In just the short time he’d been scouting, his Punching Fist Skill Level had already reached Lv1 (7/10).

And after Lin Mo took out three patrol squads in a row, the Cat Demon’s den finally came into view.

Compared to the Goblin Settlement, the Cat Demon’s settlement... if you could even call it that, was in fact just a large cave where a group of Cat Demons had gathered.

It had to be said that among Low Level Demons, Goblins were rather "aspirational."

Although they were a bit weak, they not only possessed greater intelligence than other Demons but also had a high degree of organization and initiative when led by a chieftain.

That was why these creatures were one of the biggest headaches for humanity and why they were known as "semi-sentient beings."

In comparison, Cat Demons seemed to be purely instinct-driven Demons.

While they did have a certain social structure, their organizational skills were far inferior to those of Goblins.
