This time, a silver door did indeed appear before him, but this one was different from the others. Its edges were trimmed in gold.

’What is this... Gold-Plated Silver?’

In any case, it looked like a chamber a full level higher than a Silver Level one—no, more like half a level higher.

The enemy behind this chamber’s door was bound to be different from the previous ones. ’I wonder if my Clone can still handle it.’

Lin Mo focused his full attention, carefully controlling his Clone as he pushed open the Gold-Plated Silver door.

The moment the door opened, a black shadow shot out.

Lin Mo reacted in time, raising his Black Sword to block, but was still sent flying over ten meters before he could regain his footing.

’Such immense strength, and so fast!’

Just as he’d thought. This was completely different from the Demons in the Silver Level chambers. Even the Crimson Flame Tiger he’d just killed was far, far weaker in comparison.

’This isn’t a Level 4. It’s most likely reached Level 4.5.’

"Lin Mo" raised his head. Coiled before him was a black body over a meter thick, its forked, scarlet tongue flicking in and out.

’Based on its appearance, could it be a Black Water Snake?’

Lin Mo wasn’t entirely sure. He had only glanced through the Basic Monster Atlas before and hadn’t memorized all its contents. Still, based on appearance alone, it certainly looked like the Black Water Snake from the illustrations.

This was also a very powerful Demon. The Black Water Snake’s bloodline might not match the Crimson Flame Tiger’s, but it wasn’t far behind. Moreover, this particular Black Water Snake was clearly a much higher Level than the tiger.

’It’ll be tough to take this thing down with just the Clone.’

’Should I test the waters first?’

’Anyway, the Clone has made it this far, and time isn’t up yet. Might as well treat it as a little experiment, just for fun.’

"Lin Mo" gripped his Black Sword and charged the giant snake. But before he could even get close, its thick, whip-fast tail lashed out.

In the narrow corridor, the Clone had no room to dodge and could only brace for impact. Unsurprisingly, the tail sent its body flying once again. It felt like being hit by a train, as if the Clone’s body was about to fall apart.

It was a good thing he also had the Knight Profession, which meant his Constitution Attribute was relatively high. Otherwise, an ordinary Level Three Warrior or Assassin would have been severely wounded by that single blow, losing all ability to fight—they might have even been killed outright.

’Definitely not just Level 4!’

The creature’s power was just as Lin Mo had suspected: Level 4.5.

It looked like he’d have to deal with this one himself. But Lin Mo was naturally annoyed to see his Clone getting thrashed so badly, so he had it charge forward again.

The Black Water Snake’s eyes held a distinctly human look of mockery and contempt as it whipped its tail out once more.

However, this time, the instant its tail made contact with the Clone, Lin Mo had it initiate Self-Destruction.

A massive explosion erupted. The Black Water Snake felt a searing pain and hastily retracted its tail, only to see it was now a pockmarked mess. It shrieked in a furious panic.

"Hmph."

Lin Mo sneered. ’Even for a Level 4.5 Demon, that last explosion couldn’t have felt good.’

He was fairly certain he’d be heading for this chamber, but since he’d already scouted three of the paths, he couldn’t just skip the last one.

So Lin Mo summoned another Clone and sent it toward the final chamber.

This time, an ordinary silver door appeared before it, looking like a standard Silver Level chamber.

After pushing open the door and stepping inside, its opponent was revealed to be a jet-black Cat Demon.

’An Agile Type, huh?’

’It doesn’t matter, though. I have ways of dealing with any type of opponent. That’s the advantage of having well-rounded Attributes. A stat-freak can do whatever they want.’

But he clearly had no intention of wasting much time on this fight. He chose the quickest, most convenient method. As the Cat Demon shrieked and launched its attack, the Clone just stood there, as if scared stiff.

But the very instant the Cat Demon’s claws touched Lin Mo’s Clone—

"BOOM!"

The resounding boom was so loud that even his main body could faintly sense the disturbance.

[Shadow Splitting] Skill Level +15

’This Self-Destruction trick is way too useful!’

’Alright, now it’s time to take care of that damned Black Water Snake.’

Lin Mo stood up. Beside him, Shefilya, who had been resting with her eyes closed, opened them. "Have you decided?"

"Yeah."

Lin Mo nodded and pointed toward the third path. "We’ll take this one."

Shefilya followed silently, falling into step about half a pace behind him, studying his back with keen interest.

’Though nothing has been said outright, the only one who doesn’t seem to realize Miss Feney’s feelings is the man himself.’

’Especially for someone like her, who had grown up alongside Feney. She’d been quietly observing them this whole time, and all of Miss Feney’s expressions and actions were painfully obvious to her.’

’Even her Ladyship had given her tacit approval, which clearly meant she wasn’t opposed to it. And that meant...’

Shefilya shook her head, not letting the thought continue. But the expression on her face was somewhat unnatural—a rare sight for the typically stoic woman.
