The previous Demons hadn’t been worth much, so Lin Mo hadn’t bothered to take their materials. But the Crimson Flame Tiger before him was different; its hide and teeth were very valuable. He spent a little time taking the hide and teeth. During the process, Shefilya came forward to help. Her technique was exquisite, and she removed the tiger hide almost perfectly.

The red, beast-shaped sigil on the Treasure Chest slowly faded away. Lin Mo waited for it to vanish completely before opening the chest.

Lying before his eyes was a Scroll.

Lin Mo’s eyes instantly lit up, a look of delight spreading across his face. ’Here it is, something good.’

Lin Mo eagerly unfurled the Scroll and discovered it was a Skill for the Knight Profession called—Taunt.

This was a classic Skill for a Defense Class Profession like the Knight. It could be extremely useful in many scenarios, especially in team combat. Only with a Taunt-like skill could one effectively protect the backline. Otherwise, if the enemy simply ignored you, a Knight’s clumsy Agility would make it impossible to catch them, let alone stop them from attacking your side’s damage dealers.

For Lin Mo, however, this Skill wasn’t very useful at the moment.

After all, although Lin Mo was a Knight, it was only a sub-profession, and he didn’t fight like a Knight at all. To put it nicely, his combat style was quite freeform; to put it bluntly, most of the time he just charged in and fought solo.

This Taunt skill, aside from protecting teammates at critical moments, was practically useless for him.

’If only the Clones created by the Shadow Splitting Skill could use Skills.’

’If the Clones could use Skills, he could just have a Clone use "Taunt" to draw the Demons’ attention. It could even be used to group up enemies, setting them up for a satisfying Self-Destruction.’

[Taunt] Level 1 (0/10): Unleash a taunt on an enemy, attracting their attention. Has a chance to force the enemy to treat you as their primary target. Success rate and duration are dependent on the Level difference between both parties and the enemy’s Spiritual Attribute.

This was an Excellent Level Skill, and learning it had given Lin Mo two Constitution attribute points. However, what concerned Lin Mo more than the points was the skill’s specific description.

’The success rate and duration are also related to the Spiritual Attribute?’

After all, the Taunt skill was, in essence, a control ability that worked by interfering with the enemy’s Spirit.

If an opponent’s Spiritual Attribute was high enough, they would naturally have some resistance to this type of spiritual-interference skill.

After adding these two points, Lin Mo’s Constitution Attribute reached 37. He was still three points short of the requirement to become a Level Four Knight.

’But for now, getting those last three Constitution points won’t be easy.’

The Taunt skill seemed like it would be difficult for Lin Mo to level up. As for his other two Knight Skills, Resilience and Earth-Splitting Strike, they had both already reached Level 5 and given their mid-level attribute boosts. The next attribute increase would only come at Full Level. Both of these were Blue Excellent Level Skills, with a max level of 7. The 300 Skill Level points needed to go from Level 6 to Level 7 would be especially hard to grind.

’The Knight Profession still has too few skills...’

Besides the Scroll, the Treasure Chest also contained 8 Crystal Coins, which was equivalent to 800 Gold Coins.

Clearly, the value of this Treasure Chest was far greater than the Silver Treasure Chest Lin Mo had opened previously.

The value of that last Silver Treasure Chest might not even have compared to the two Bronze Treasure Chests Lin Mo opened at the very beginning. This showed that even among secret rooms of the same level and Treasure Chests of the same grade, the rewards could vary drastically.

That meant his luck last time had been truly exceptional. The contents of an Ordinary Bronze Treasure Chest were likely nowhere near as valuable.

But one couldn’t get far by relying on luck alone; after all, you can’t be lucky every time. Fortunately, now that Lin Mo had his Clone Skill, he had a way to scout ahead. He could definitely choose the best reward every single time.
