The pleasant surprise of obtaining two New Skills didn’t end there.

With his two original Excellent Level skills reaching Full Level, and on top of successfully acquiring these two new Excellence Level skills, Lin Mo’s Magic Attribute increased by a full 8 points. It rose from the original 56 to 64, exceeding the requirements to advance to a Level 6 Mage.

This also meant that Lin Mo would finally break out of the ranks of Entry Level Professionals and become a Senior Level Professional!

Holy crap...

’A full twelve-point attribute boost?!’

After all, when a Level 4 Mage leveled up to a Level 5 Mage, they only got a six-point Attribute Amplification, but going from Level 5 to 6 directly doubled it. No wonder they say the gap between a Senior Level Professional and an Entry Level Professional is as great as the gap between a Professional and a Non-Professional.

For a normal Professional, a twelve-point Attribute Amplification was indeed a nearly qualitative leap.

Even for an outlier like Lin Mo, this 12-point Attribute Amplification was a significant amount.

And that wasn’t all!

[Mage’s Heart] Level 2: The secrets of the Elements are hereby unlocked; the glory of Magic shines upon you!

Skill Effect: Magic Power recovery speed increased by 20%, mental strain from casting Magic reduced by 20%.

The Mage’s Heart Class Skill had actually leveled up along with it, its effects doubling from 10% to 20%!

And-and it still wasn’t over!

Magic Surge. Lin Mo had seen this term in a book before.

Lin Mo could see the subtle changes that came with a Mage Professional’s promotion to the Senior level with perfect clarity thanks to his panel. Other Mages, however, would have to analyze these changes through constant experimentation and combat.

After many years of continuous research by scholars, this phenomenon was eventually named "Magic Surge."

The term’s meaning was actually quite simple: it reduced the spell’s "silent period" after being cast.

Although the real world didn’t have a "cooldown" concept like in video games, Lin Mo had noticed a problem through his constant battles. After casting a spell, if he wanted to cast that same spell again, there was always a short period of "rigidity."

This was because spellcasting is achieved by operating the Magic Circuit. After the circuit completes a cycle, you have to wait for the Magic Power to flow back to its starting point before you can run the circuit again.

This was why Lin Mo had always opted for a different method. After casting a spell, instead of letting the Magic Power flow back, he would forcibly divert it from the previous Magic Circuit into a different one. This allowed him to quickly start accumulating power for another spell.

That’s how he could throw a Fireball Technique with his left hand and immediately start gathering energy for a Wind Blade Skill with his right.

This was a technique he had figured out on his own. In reality, it was a rather "brute-force" and extremely difficult method. Furthermore, it generally only worked when using Magic of different Elements, and was something that a normal Mage would find virtually impossible to do.

So, after casting a spell, a normal Mage generally needs at least two to three seconds or even longer to adjust their Magic Power. The greater the spell’s power, the higher its level, and the more Magic Power it consumes, the longer this adjustment period would be.

And "Magic Surge" simply increased the speed of this Magic Power reflow, shortening the "rigidity" period.

To put it simply, increased Casting Speed reduces a spell’s wind-up, while Magic Surge reduces its recovery.

But Lin Mo wasn’t a conventional Mage, so he wasn’t quite sure how Magic Surge would be useful to him.

It was surely useful, of course; it just required further research for him to develop his own unique way of using it.

According to Lin Mo’s current line of thinking, since he could already cast different spells almost nonstop using his unorthodox methods, and Magic Surge could increase the speed of Magic Power reflow, was it possible for him to split the Magic Power in his body into two streams and control them both at the same time?

One stream could follow the normal path for Magic Power reflow, while the other followed his current "wild" method, being forcibly diverted to other circuits.

And if the Magic Power’s reflow was fast enough, he could start the process for a second spell on the "normal" path before the "wild" path’s Magic Circuit was even finished. If that worked, couldn’t he cast two spells at the same time?

Taking it a step further, could these two spells create some kind of collision or combination? The combinations of Magic between different Elements that he had been thinking about might finally have a viable method!

However, there were two main difficulties in achieving this. The first was splitting his Magic Power into two streams and operating them simultaneously.

That alone would be enough to stump more than 99.99% of all Mages.

Anyone knows how hard it is to learn Magic. Just mastering the basics is difficult enough, to say nothing of getting fancy with them.

It was like controlling the Clone from [Shadow Splitting]—a feat akin to making your left and right brain fight each other, but this was far more difficult.

After all, controlling one’s own body is a simple task for a human—something any normal person can do with ease. The difficulty of controlling two bodies, therefore, was not that much greater in comparison.
