Adventure: My Skills Evolve Infinitely

With the time each person needed to stand watch greatly reduced, everyone could get some proper rest.

As half a Mage, Lin Mo was scheduled for the last watch.

Landon chose to take the first watch, which achieved a similar result.

Feney was scheduled for the watch just before Lin Mo, which was also quite a good arrangement.

Lin Mo returned to his tent but didn’t go to sleep right away. Instead, he sat cross-legged and entered a state of Meditation.

After a while, once his Basic Meditation Skill Level had increased and his Spirit felt clear and relaxed, Lin Mo finally lay down in his sleeping bag and slept soundly.

He slept exceptionally well that night.

"Mr. Lin Mo... Mr. Lin Mo?"

Near dawn, Lin Mo was awakened by Feney’s voice. He opened his eyes to see her cute face right in front of him.

Feney’s face was already endearing, and her innocent, naive eyes inspired a strong urge to protect her.

Lin Mo sat up and looked outside.

The summer days were long, and the sky was already faintly lit. He stepped out of the tent and stretched his limbs.

He had slept so well last night, perhaps because of the Meditation session before bed... ’It seems this Skill also works as a bit of a sleep aid.’

’That’s an unexpected bonus.’

He got up to check the traps and found no issues. Lin Mo returned to the campsite, where Feney was waiting for him, sitting quietly under a tree.

"Aren’t you going to sleep a little longer?"

Feney shook her head. "It’s almost dawn."

Lin Mo remembered she seemed to be a bit groggy when she first woke up, a little dazed and confused.

He had seen it before, that dazed state... ’Hmm, it’s even cuter.’

"You must be getting used to adventuring by now, right?"

Feney nodded. "Mr. Lin Mo and everyone else have been taking good care of me."

"So, do you plan to keep being an Adventurer in the future?"

After all, when Feney’s mother first agreed to let her become an Adventurer, it felt more like she was just letting her try it out.

Normally, as a daughter of the Ravel Family, Feney would be groomed to be the next Lord of Silver Stream City.

"I do!"

But that didn’t seem to be Feney’s plan. Her eyes were sparkling, full of longing and excitement for more adventures.

As someone with the rare Priest Profession, if Feney really planned to be an Adventurer for the long haul, Lin Mo certainly wanted to keep her on his team.

’I just don’t know if Lady Beixila would agree to her daughter wandering around all the time.’

’From their previous interactions, I felt she was a kind and considerate lady, but on a matter this important, she might have her own convictions.’

’I’ll just have to take it one step at a time...’

As Lin Mo was mulling over these random thoughts, a sudden weight settled on his shoulder. He turned his head to see Feney, her eyes closed, leaning against him with even breaths.

The large white hat on her head had tilted to one side. Lin Mo gently took it off to prevent it from getting wet with dew dripping from the leaves.

Her long golden hair cascaded down. The girl’s flawless face made Lin Mo stare for a moment, but then his scalp suddenly tingled, feeling as if he were being watched.

’It must be Shefilya...’

He glanced around. There was still a significant gap in their strength, after all. If she didn’t reveal herself, it would be difficult for Lin Mo to find her.

’But I didn’t even do anything. Feney was the one who leaned on me. There’s no need to glare at me so aggressively, right?’

Lin Mo made a helpless gesture with his free hand, the one Feney wasn’t leaning on.

The feeling of being pricked by needles on his back gradually faded. Apparently, Shefilya had no intention of actually coming out and disturbing her young lady’s nap.

And so, Feney slept until everyone else was awake.

Ali rubbed her eyes, yawning as she walked out of her tent, still half-asleep.

But when she saw the scene before her, she instantly became wide awake, as if she’d just splashed cold water on her face.

Looking at Feney leaning on Lin Mo’s shoulder, Ali’s feelings were, frankly, complicated.

Ali wasn’t stupid. The Little Wolf Girl actually knew everything. Her good friend Lena, and even Miss Feney... Feney herself might not even realize it yet, but she clearly had feelings for Lin Mo.

Ali didn’t want to bring any of this up. That way, the time when Lin Mo belonged only to her might last a little longer.

But when she truly had to face these things, Ali wouldn’t choose to run away.

This was something she had already decided...

Lin Mo was a very gentle and kind person, a rare good man who held no prejudice against Half-Beastmen.

Ali felt she had received a great deal of help from Lin Mo, so of course she couldn’t possibly ruin his chances at love and happiness.

That was why her feelings were so complicated right now.

"Ali... you’re awake?"

Lin Mo noticed the Little Wolf Girl had come out. Seeing the subtle expression on her face, he felt a little awkward.

"Yeah."

Unexpectedly, Ali just nodded, seeming almost no different than usual.

’Isn’t she jealous?’

Of course that was impossible...

Although Lin Mo wasn’t sure what Ali was thinking, he could guess that she didn’t want to cause him any trouble.

’What a good girl!’

After Ali, the others also began to emerge from their tents. They all witnessed the scene, each wearing a strange expression.

Huck and Sheela exchanged glances, winking and nudging each other with smug expressions that made Lin Mo want to punch them.

Sid, on the other hand, wasn’t interested in such things. He just washed up as usual and got ready for breakfast.

Benny and Landon also just glanced over, offering awkward yet polite smiles.

"Nnngh~"

Under everyone’s gaze, Feney finally opened her eyes.

The newly awoken girl was still a bit groggy. She even nuzzled against Lin Mo’s shoulder, like someone reluctant to get out of bed.

Then she realized something was off. She slowly raised her head, saw Lin Mo’s face right in front of hers, and her cheeks instantly flushed crimson.

"Mr. L-Lin Mo... Nngh~"

She bit her tongue.

’How can anyone be this cute?’

A doting smile spread across Lin Mo’s face. He then stood up to help her out of the awkward situation. "It’s getting late. Today is our last and most difficult quest. Everyone, eat something quickly so we can get ready to move out."

As soon as he said that, the squad quickly fell back into their professional routine.

They organized their gear, packed their things, and took out food from their backpacks, either roasting it over the fire or eating it cold.

Twenty minutes later, all the members of the squad were packed and ready to depart.

Landon held the quest map and pointed to the location of the final quest.

"From our current position, we’re still some distance from the area where the Frosty Corpse is frequently sighted. It’ll take us most of the morning to get there. After that..."

Landon frowned slightly.

Undead Creatures were different from Demons. Most of the time, Demons, including Goblins, had their own habitats and wouldn’t stray far from them.

But the movement patterns of Undead Creatures were unpredictable, so the area marked on the quest map was quite large.

He was afraid the search alone would take a very long time.

If they weren’t lucky, they might not even find the target by the end of the day.

"Finding the Corpse shouldn’t be too difficult, right?"

Lin Mo looked at Ali.

Ali had a very keen sense of smell, and the stench of a Rotten Corpse was extremely distinct.

With this worry resolved, the group no longer had any reservations. They picked up their pace and advanced toward the area marked on the quest map...
