In addition to these prominent figures in the city, some of Silver Stream City’s officials, as well as Bishop Flate and Chairman Vick, were naturally indispensable.

One could say that the small conference room was now a gathering of all the city’s finest.

And more people kept arriving...

About half an hour later, the conference room doors closed. Lady Beixila, seated at the head of the table, finally stood up and officially began the day’s meeting.

"Based on our continuous investigations and intelligence gathering over the past few days, we can now confirm that the Goblins have amassed tribes possibly numbering in the hundreds of thousands. They are preparing to launch a siege, and their target is the very city we live in, Silver Stream City..."

"In this critical time, I hope you will all work together, each contributing your own strengths, to help this city, to help its residents, and to help yourselves get through this crisis!"

Lady Beixila’s formal speech was delivered with resonant power and was incredibly inspiring.

Many of the younger Adventurers felt their blood boil with excitement.

But slogans are easy to shout; the actual work to be done was far more complex.

What followed was the very long and tedious minutiae of the meeting.

This included various Alchemy Shops working overtime to produce more Alchemy Potions, the Adventurer’s Association adjusting the rewards for hunting Goblins, and the various forges offering temporary price reductions and rentals for Low Level weapons, among other things.

For those uninterested, the complex details of the meeting were an absolute disaster. Many young Adventurers began to quietly doze off.

Lin Mo, on the other hand, listened with great interest. However, since he didn’t know much about these matters, he had no room to interject.

All in all, this was a pre-war mobilization meeting for the city’s key personnel...

In fact, many of the things discussed had already been set in motion a few days ago. This was just a formal announcement and clarification.

The meeting lasted for the better part of the morning. The specific arrangements for the Guards, Adventurers, and other personnel would require further discussion and decision-making between City Lord Beixila, the city’s military officers, and Chairman Vick of the Adventurer’s Association.

But none of this had much to do with Lin Mo. All he knew was that the war was about to begin.

By the afternoon, news that the Goblins were about to attack the city had begun to spread. At the same time, Silver Stream City immediately imposed a curfew, forbidding ordinary citizens from leaving without a valid reason.

In an instant, the atmosphere in the entire city grew tense.

Lin Mo, however, felt fine. On one hand, his own strength gave him confidence; on the other, he trusted Lady Beixila.

’He had a feeling that her preparations for this Goblin war were not as simple as they appeared on the surface. Beyond the conventional methods, there had to be some other hidden ace up her sleeve.’

With all preparations complete, a feeling of an impending storm hung over the entire city.

「The next day, the weather was gloomy.」

Having taken the previous night off from helping Ali improve her strength, Lin Mo had a full night’s rest and woke up early.

Shefilya helped him dress as usual. Lin Mo put on his Leather Armor, draped his Mage Robe over it, pulled on his Secret Silver Gloves, and hung the Steel Splitting Sword at his waist, fully equipped and ready to go.

After a simple breakfast, he saw Guards being mobilized as he was leaving the manor.

He went to the Adventurer’s Association to gather some intel and, as expected, the Goblins’ siege was about to begin.

"According to the latest intelligence on Goblin movements, they seem to be focusing their main attacks on three locations: the main city of Silver Stream City, Silver Moon Town, and Starlight Town. The main city is facing the largest deployment of forces—more than fifty percent!"

Inside the Association, some of the quicker-witted Adventurers were already analyzing the battle situation based on the available intelligence.

The other Adventurers listened, thinking it all sounded very logical. In reality, they didn’t really understand, but they felt what he was saying made sense anyway...

It could only be said that while many Adventurers were indeed powerful, they really were all brawn and no brains.

Lin Mo picked up a map and studied it carefully, quickly noticing a few problems.

The three locations the Goblins were targeting were clearly from different directions and were all key areas on the greater map of Silver Stream City. This was a plan to leverage their numerical superiority for a swift, crushing invasion of Silver Stream City.

If even one of the three locations failed to hold against the pressure, the losses would be immense. The Goblins would gain a strategic territorial advantage, allowing them to pour in through the breach and leave the remaining two areas in the predicament of being attacked from both front and rear.

’While it wasn’t a brilliant strategy, it was clear they had a plan... From this perspective, those Silver Goblins really had something to them. They were probably a bit smarter than some of those bright-eyed but clueless college students—maybe even at a high school level.’

’Still, Lin Mo believed that Lady Beixila’s strategic insight was definitely superior to theirs. It was also likely superior to his own, so it was improbable that she and the high command of the army would miss something that even he could see. For now, all he needed to do was play his part as an Adventurer and contribute to the war effort.’

After the morning’s meeting, the Adventurer’s Association also urgently issued a large-scale special mission.
