Chapter 193: Aurielle’s Tears
While walking through the hallways, Luke thought about when he should depart for the temple.
Because according to the system map, it seemed to be near Ashveil route surprisingly.
"MY LORD!"
Suddenly a loud voice came from the front, followed by Noah, the young butler whom Luke had met fizrst after awakening in Blackstone.
He saw his running figure and his breathing was even rough, while his face looked nervous.
So Luke stopped, and during the wait for him to come, he recalled that earlier he didn’t see him much inside the mansion.
Later he found out, that he had become the main head of checking the progress of the walls that were being built around the Blackstone.
"My lord." Noah called him again, on which Luke told him to calm down first.
So Noah took deep breaths to calm down, before telling the news.
"Lord, Miss Margaret and Sir Kai, along with other knights, have returned to the territory."
Luke raised his eyebrow upon this. ’That’s a good news, so why was his face still filled with worry.’
Noah, after saying that, added, "Lady Evelyne has also returned with them."
"Huh?" Luke became surprised that the aunt of Aurielle, who had managed Blackstone Territory earlier, had returned.
And she even got the guts to return with the Blackstone knights.
’Doesn’t she know that Blackstone has a new ruler?’
’And she had embezzled money from this territory before, So she should be afraid.’ While Luke was thinking about her guts, Noah said one last thing, which also made his face worry.
"And Lady Aurielle is already facing her."
"What!" On this, Luke immediately stopped his thinking and instantly headed toward the location. Because he didn’t know if Aurielle, in anger, would use her power openly.
Since this territory was like home to her, and the news about her aunt embezzling money, would had hurt her the most.
***
At the entrance of the territory, near the main gate, a huge crowd had gathered.
Initially it was for the welcome of returning knights. But later the crowd got bigger due to the appearance of Aurielle and Evelyne.
There both of them were looking at each other, where one eye held anger, while the other held calmness.
Margaret looked worriedly from the side, but didn’t try to stop Aurielle, as she also knew how much Aurielle loved her territory, which was her home.
Then she looked toward the other woman, who had long black hair, same as Aurielle, but her eyes were a little black, mixed with purple.
Even though Evelyne was in her 40s, no one present could deny the beauty she held, which was almost comparable to her sister, the mother of Aurielle.
"Miss Margaret, is it really okay?" Kai from the side asked in a low voice.
He was happy when he heard the news of the territory’s victory against Ashenford, and all of them felt proud of their master.
So when everyone was returning back, they found Lady Evelyne on the road who was also returning back to the territory.
Even though he had heard the news of her corruption, still he chose to let her be in his group.
With the thought that their master and his wife, would deal with her.
At that time, Margaret also didn’t say anything. But now it seemed the situation had become worse.
Margaret heard Kai’s answer and just shook her head, while hoping that Lady Aurielle would not make a scene, atleast in front of the crowd.
"Why!" But she did.
Aurielle shouted at her, as her eyes became moist.
Because before getting imprisoned, her mother told her to treat Evelyne the same as her.
Her second mother, which Aurielle did.
Even though Evelyne didn’t give her much attention all those years, she always thought of her as someone close.
Close enough, that she would take care of the territory while her sister was imprisoned.
So Aurielle asked this simple question.
Evelyne sighed seeing her niece’s behavior. And instead of replying, she looked around toward the gathered crowd.
She could even identify some faces among the merchants and adventurers that she had seen before leaving the territory.
While not any familiar knight faces. Even though she had heard about the upheaval in Blackstone.
And got surprised after finding that her niece had married a hero. Afterward, she even made him the lord.
Though, later she found that the hero was talentless and was not married to one but five princesses.
At that time, she became shocked with this news. So she hurried back from the kingdom capital to meet her.
Still she was also worried that Aurielle would find out about her embezzling money.
Even though she came back with full confidence that Aurielle would not make things difficult for her.
But now the situation seemed different.
"Aurielle, we should talk inside." She calmly said to her, but Aurielle didn’t reply to her, instead asked again.
"WHY!"
This time, her voice was even louder than before, which made the surrounding people start gossiping.
"Isn’t she Lady Evelyne? the sister of Lady Seraphina."
"Why then, her own niece, Lady Aurielle, was shouting at her?"
New people became confused, while the existing citizens and even many merchants and adventurers knew why she was questioning her.
But none said anything loud, only gossiping among themselves.
For a moment, only the sound of gossip echoed throughout the vicinity, while Aurielle and Evelyne just stared at each other.
Luke’s clone just came out this time and from afar saw this situation clearly.
"Thank goddess, she didn’t go berserk." He thanked his blessed stars, before moving toward them.
Everyone turned at the newcomer, when they found who it was, everyone’s expression instantly changed.
The previous playful manner and gossip stopped, while every eyes looked at Luke.
The Baron Luke with respect, fear, awe and reverence.
"Its Lord!"
Then murmurs spread again among the crowd, but this time they started discussing Luke’s deeds.
Though each of their voices was low, because everyone could see the situation.
Evelyne also became surprised by the gathered people’s reaction and turned to look at newcomer with a curious gaze.
"It’s nice seeing you, Hero Luke, husband of my niece." With a smiling face she said those words out.
Still, she didn’t mention anything about Baron.
But Luke didn’t care, he just gave her a nod, then turned his gaze toward the knights who had just returned.
They understood his gaze and the next moment,
"Everyone move back!"
"Don’t crowd the area!"
"Don’t block the road!"
Soon, all of them began clearing the roads, while Luke moved toward Aurielle, who was also looking at him.
