Chapter 115: Focus
Hu Yan noticed her mind was wandering. His gaze fell on her rosy lips, and he gave her a punishing bite. "You’re getting distracted at a time like this?"
"Hiss—" Bai Zhi gasped in pain, her eyes welling up with tears.
Seeing her eyes glisten with tears, Hu Yan’s gaze darkened. He gently kissed the spot he had just bitten and said in a husky voice, "Pay attention."
Hu Yan’s voice was raspy. "Hold me tight."
Bai Zhi’s mind was a complete blur. Hearing his words, she obediently lifted her fair, slender arms and draped them over his shoulders.
The temperature in the room rose steadily.
Meanwhile, in the other rooms, Yue Junxiao and the others had all leveled up after absorbing their Beast Cores.
Before falling asleep, Bai Zhi thought back to that night with Sang Mo. She vaguely recalled hearing the system announce it was shutting down for an upgrade just as she was drifting off, but her mind had been so hazy then that she had completely forgotten about it. That’s why she’d thought the system had ’run away from home’.
That explained why she hadn’t heard from the system at all yesterday, no matter how many times she called for it.
The system must have just finished its upgrade.
’But I’m too tired and sleepy right now,’ she thought. ’All I want to do is sleep. I’ll just have to ask the system about the upgrades tomorrow.’
It was late by the time she woke up. The spot beside her was cold; Hu Yan was long gone.
Bai Zhi lay with her eyes closed for a moment, collecting herself. Suddenly, she remembered she hadn’t asked about the system’s upgrade yet. Her eyes snapped open. "System, what’s different now that you’ve upgraded?"
System: "To account for the regional differences, missions have been significantly upgraded, and the corresponding rewards have been increased. Additionally, the host may now use Star Coins to purchase items from the App Store."
Hearing this, Bai Zhi was instantly wide awake. She immediately asked, "So if the missions are upgraded, does that mean the payout for each one is bigger?!"
System: "Yes."
Bai Zhi was thrilled. Back on Blue Star, missions had been worth a few million, with super missions reaching into the hundreds of millions. Now that they were on the Main Star, where the cost of living was higher, the system had upgraded to match. ’I just wonder how many Star Coins the new missions will be worth.’
But either way, this upgrade was definitely a good thing for her.

’At least, I can’t afford it anytime soon.’
Just then, the system’s voice sounded again.

Even on the Main Star, that kind of money could buy a very nice house.
Bai Zhi was instantly filled with fighting spirit. ’Who needs sleep? It’s time to get up and spend some money!!’

Good fortune puts a spring in your step. When Bai Zhi went downstairs, she discovered that her husbands were in high spirits too; even Lang Qiu had a faint smile on his face.

At these words, an excited Yan Yichen rushed right up to Bai Zhi. "Can we get anything?"
Bai Zhi nodded. "Yep, anything you want."
Yan Yichen said without a moment’s hesitation, "I want a gorgeous red Mecha! Can I? I’ve wanted one for so long!!"
’A standard Mecha only costs a few million Star Coins,’ Bai Zhi thought. She agreed immediately. "Of course."
Then Bai Zhi turned to the others. "What about you guys? Do you want Mechas too?"
Yue Junxiao didn’t have anything specific in mind. He’d already driven a Flying Sports Car and flown in a Starship. "In that case, I’ll take a Mecha too," he said.
Lang Qiu said, "I’m fine with whatever."
Sang Mo wasn’t too concerned either. "I don’t have a preference. Anything is fine."
Hearing their answers, Bai Zhi said, "Alright, one Mecha for each of you then."
Now that they’d decided what to buy, the next problem was their unfamiliarity with the Main Star. They decided to ask Zelda if he knew anyone who could help.
Zelda was a little taken aback when Bai Zhi asked. He hadn’t expected her to buy Mechas for her Beast Husbands.
After a brief pause, he said, "I do. When are you planning to go? I can let them know you’re coming."
Bai Zhi said, "We’re heading out soon."
Zelda replied, "Alright, I’ll head over now."
’I can’t keep bothering Zelda,’ Bai Zhi thought. ’He comes from a huge family; he must be busy. He can’t spend all his time with us.’ So she said, "You don’t have to come over. We can go on our own."
Zelda said, "I’m fairly knowledgeable in this area, so I can give you some suggestions. Besides, I figured you’d all be up by now and was planning on coming over anyway."
Since he’d put it that way, Bai Zhi felt she couldn’t refuse any longer. She told him to go on ahead and that they would follow using the information he provided.
After a quick meal, Bai Zhi set out with her Beast Husbands.
The store Zelda had told them about was the largest Mecha Store on the Main Star. It carried every type of Mecha imaginable, spanned tens of thousands of square meters, and was three stories high.
The first-floor hall had numerous Mechas on display. A particularly dazzling one caught their eye the moment they walked in.
Zelda had arrived earlier. As soon as Bai Zhi and her group stepped through the door, he strode over to greet them.
Zelda got straight to the point. "I’ve picked out a few Mechas that I think are pretty good. There’s a range of prices, but they’re all top performers in their respective classes. You should be able to find something you like within your budget."
