Zelda then turned to another Beastman who had accompanied him and said, "Kate, why don’t you introduce yourself."

Kate placed his right hand over his chest, bowed slightly, and said with a gentlemanly smile, "Hello, lovely female. You can call me Kate. I’m the owner of this Mecha Store, and also a friend of Zelda’s."

Bai Zhi hadn’t expected the friend Zelda mentioned to be the owner of the Mecha Store.

’I guess that makes sense,’ she thought. ’Birds of a feather flock together, just like how the rich kids all hang out with other rich kids.’

Bai Zhi reacted quickly, extending her hand with a smile. "I’m Bai Zhi. I’m sorry to have troubled you to come here personally. These are my Beast Husbands."

She then introduced Lang Qiu and the others individually.

After giving them a polite smile, Kate turned to Bai Zhi and said, "It is my honor to be of service to such a lovely female."

Zelda couldn’t stand Kate’s phony act. He scoffed, "Alright, knock it off with that overpowering cologne. She’s my bro’s female, so don’t even think about it."

Kate frowned, annoyed. "That’s a fragrance I put on intentionally! And I’m always this gentlemanly toward females! You can’t just bad-mouth me because you don’t know how to be a gentleman yourself!"

Zelda was speechless.

Just as he was about to kick Kate, he saw that Kate’s expression had already shifted. Turning slightly to the side, he gestured for Bai Zhi and her group to follow. "Shall we head inside?" he said with a smile. "We can talk as we go."

Bai Zhi nodded and followed them into the showroom.

The hall was lined with Mecha, each displayed in its own glass enclosure. Every Mecha differed in appearance and color; it was safe to say that each one was one-of-a-kind.

Both Yue Junxiao and Yan Yichen felt their blood pump with excitement.

Yan Yichen’s eyes lit up as he studied one of the Mecha. "This Mecha’s color is amazing."

Yue Junxiao had also found one he liked. He couldn’t resist pressing his face against the glass to get a closer look. "This Mecha is so awesome! Piloting it would be so cool!"

Kate explained, "These two are this year’s new models—upgraded versions of the T-Rex model. Both their core and performance are superior to the T-Rex, and their spiritual power connection speed is faster. The one you’re looking at is actually one that Zelda recommended. Its outer shell is made of..."

Kate went on to detail the differences between the two, and then showed them several other models of a similar type.

Bai Zhi felt a surge of excitement as well. She had never seen a Mecha in person, but she’d seen Transformers on TV, and these were the real deal.

A person sat inside and connected to the Mecha via their spiritual power. Once a connection was successfully established, the pilot could control the Mecha.

Mecha came in all sizes. The smaller ones were only about the size of one or two people. Because of their compact size, they were nimble and agile, perfect for close-quarters combat.

However, large-scale Mecha were the preferred choice for most, as the smaller models required not only exceptional control over one’s spiritual power but also placed immense demands on the pilot.

The requirements for large-scale Mecha were comparatively less stringent.

The model Yue Junxiao had his eye on was an imposing, powerful Mecha. Its very frame radiated an oppressive aura, and its spiritual power sensitivity was extremely high. In other words, the better a pilot’s control over their spiritual power, the greater their synergy with this Mecha would be.

As she listened to Kate’s explanations on one side and Yue Junxiao’s barrage of questions for Zelda on the other, Bai Zhi—a complete novice who knew nothing about Mecha—actually began to understand a little about them.

When they got to the upper floor, Yue Junxiao suddenly let out a piercing shriek. "AHHH!!! This Mecha is actually here!"

Yue Junxiao said, practically vibrating with excitement, "Isn’t this the Mecha the Cyber Major General piloted to victory during the great war against the Insect Clan? I can’t believe it’s on display here! This is the fighter jet of Mecha! Even if it can’t compare to the Third Prince’s, this Mecha still ranks among the very best in the entire Federation!"

Kate nodded. "You’re correct. This is indeed the Mecha the Cyber Major General used to pilot. After it was decommissioned, it was displayed in a museum for a while before being shipped here."

Though Kate’s tone was casual, his short sentence spoke volumes. It took a combination of connections, resources, money, and influence to have such an important Mecha displayed here, which was enough to prove that Kate’s background was anything but ordinary.

But Yue Junxiao was too overcome with excitement to notice any of that. All he heard were the words "the Cyber Major General’s Mecha."

Kate smiled. "There are quite a few other decommissioned Mecha inside that you can look at. This floor isn’t normally open to the public."

He didn’t have to say another word; everyone present understood the implication.

He had specially opened this floor for them because of Zelda.

If Zelda hadn’t put in a word for them, they wouldn’t have been able to see this vast collection, even if they had come. These weren’t sights that money alone could buy.

Yan Yichen and Yue Junxiao were both thrilled at the thought of seeing so many Mecha retired from the battlefield.

After they had seen everything, each of them chose a Mecha based on their personal preference.

Hu Yan got one too.

He probably didn’t even need it, but since the other Beast Husbands were all getting one, Hu Yan had to have one too, of course.

In the end, Yan Yichen chose a cool, red-orange Mecha that Zelda had recommended. Yue Junxiao picked a black and blue one, Lang Qiu a black one, Sang Mo a deep teal one, and Hu Yan a golden one that looked particularly stunning in the light.

Thanks to Zelda, Kate gave them a special discount. Even so, the five Mecha cost almost fifty million Star Coins.

On the Main Star, it wasn’t uncommon for a female to buy a Mecha for her Beast Husband, but it was quite rare to see one who treated them all so equally. It made Kate give Bai Zhi a second look.

The moment Bai Zhi’s payment went through, she heard the system’s notification chime.

[Congratulations, Host. Mission complete. Relevant documents for a mansion valued at 500,000,000.00 Star Coins have been sent to Host’s Light Computer. 50,000,000.00 Star Coins have also been successfully disbursed. Please check for confirmation.]

All of Bai Zhi’s attention was fixed on the system’s reward; she didn’t notice Kate at all. Not that she would have cared even if she had.

Everyone has their favorites, and Bai Zhi was unabashedly partial to Hu Yan.

But she did her best to treat every Beast Husband as fairly as possible.

’Fortunately, they’re all wonderful,’ she mused. ’Maybe they don’t have the powerful backgrounds that other females’ Beast Husbands have. They might be ’ordinary,’ but they’re all wonderful.’

Lang Qiu and the others were already used to how happy Bai Zhi got whenever she spent a lot of money, but Kate and Zelda had no idea.

Kate watched Bai Zhi spend tens of millions, yet she looked as if she’d just earned that much. No, she looked even happier than that.

For a moment, he found it strange, but also very curious.
