Age of Adepts

Chapter 0945 - Battle Under the Night

The night was deep.

Under the starry and moonless night, the Cedarrak Mountains seemed especially silent, even somewhat close to death.

It had only been three days, and Grim and Katie's unbridled battle had already gone on for nine rounds, also creating nine deadly areas of life in the Sydrak Mountains.

Although the beasts and demons of the Sydrak Mountains could not be called sentient, they had become cautious and sensitive under the threat of death. As soon as two wizards set foot in a certain mountain forest, a natural disaster-like tide of beasts would quickly erupt there.

Beasts and birds, as well as powerful demons, would all scramble to flee the area, not daring to stop by the two witches' side for a moment.

And with the passage of time, the more the two sorcerers parsed the laws of the En Vik's position, the more power they could exert, and the more terrifying the damage they could do to the surrounding environment.

During a battle, the Flame Gate forged by Grim Sorcery had summoned hundreds of powerful flame creatures, turning a valley deep in the mountain range into an apocalyptic world of lava running and lava everywhere.

Combined with the special geographical environment, it was highly likely that the Flame Gate would remain for years and years, and the flame creatures that crossed the valley with the help of the Flame Gate would become the guardians of the valley, blocking all creatures from approaching.

The two sorcerers who had created this heavenly danger and desperate situation did not care how much damage their recklessness had caused to the Cedrac Mountain Range, and were still immersed in attacking and fighting with each other.

The two sides would always come up with all sorts of sinister and despicable ways to assassinate and sneak attack each other during the day. Unfortunately, so far, all of them had failed.

Neither side could end this war quickly, and could only turn the battle into a tug-of-war!

Both sides are suffering!

After night fell low, Grim started a campfire at the foot of a snowy peak.

On top of the bonfire, a thorny boar that had accidentally bumped into his hand became his food for the night.

The process of deflowering, gutting, cleaning, smearing with sauce, and racking it on a stick for smoking was all done by Grim himself. With the aid of the chip, Grim could call up a hundred and eighty recipes for smoking, cooking, and frying the wild boar at any time, transforming himself into a stunningly beautiful chef and cooking the boar into a mouth-watering, mouth-watering meal.

And, as he gently stirred the wild boar chops on the wooden rack, brushing them with layer after layer of amber, sticky, sweet sauce, Grim was full of masked gloom as he looked up at another fire on the far side of the mountains.

Unlike Grim's laid-back comfort at the moment, a bonfire was also burning on top of another mountain peak ten miles away.

But unfortunately, what that Knife Katie had set up to smoke on the campfire wasn't wild boar or coyote meat, but snake meat. And from the colorful snake scales that hadn't yet faded from the snake meat, it was clear that Katie was smoking all venomous snakes.

It wasn't that Katie didn't like boar or coyote meat, but she couldn't fight it.

The Tyrannosaurus King Moshe droppings she was covered in had been cleaned off, but the peculiar fetid stench lingered. It also caused Katie to find almost no large creatures at all within a ten-mile radius of where she went.

Without large creatures, there was also no food source for supplies. Although Katie had some nutritional potions with her, that could only sustain basic physical strength, but it couldn't allow her severely depleted strength to recover quickly.

Compared to ordinary people, witches were powerful, but their great strength also needed to be replenished by eating a lot. Therefore, even though Katy was as small as a girl next door, her appetite was incomparable to that of ten strong men.

These days, not being able to find enough meat to eat, Knife Katie had devoured almost all the poisonous snakes and gophers in the places she passed.

She's not an elemental witch, who regains her elemental powers naturally with meditation and sleep. She was a mechanical sorcerer, and the source of all power came from her constitution, which in turn could not be restored without magical food and a good night's sleep.

Therefore, her own energy reserves had been decreasing since she had entered this Enwick dimension. And these hours of constant battles with that damned male witch had also caused her to suffer a lot.

After devouring a few half-burnt vipers, slightly relieving the blazing hunger in her belly, Katie was able to free up a little time to repair those few personal wizards.

From her storage ring, she took out some spare metal blade wheels to replace the ones that had been ravaged by foot tenderness during the day. With the glowing campfire, Katie took out some more sorcery materials and slowly repaired and maintained the broken parts and body.

To be honest, under the darkness of the night, next to the campfire with the light of the fire beating, watching a petite and beautiful-looking girl, like taking apart parts, removing a part of her body to clean, maintain, maintain, and then carefully put it back together again.

Such a scene is downright creepy!

Grim, on the other hand, was gulping down the food while silently examining and observing the powerful mechanical witch with the aid of the perspective of the dispatched wind spirit.

This guy is by no means the current Witch of the North!

At least Grim had never heard of such a mechanical witch in the Northlands!

However, she clearly had a Witch World flavor to her.

Therefore, Grim estimated that she was most likely a resident witch sent by the Witch of the North in one of the sub-dimensions. Moreover, she was the one that was specially trained to be adept at killing and assassinating.

To be honest, if Grim was a little more ordinary, this Mechanical Witch's strength would be enough to exterminate him without even a scrap left. But now, as the progress of bit parsing continued to improve, the battle power that Grim could exert was getting stronger and stronger.

Finally, after a clear sound of a drop, Grim waited for the long-awaited chip tone.

"Drip, bit parsing work complete, 100% progress... Subject's basic strength is basically restored, maximum battle power can reach seventy-eight percent of the Sorcerer's World xxxx..."

Grim was no longer interested in listening to the series of numbers that the chip suggested, and although the strength unlocking didn't reach 80% of his expectations, the 78% was enough for him to play to his heart's content.

In the previous battles, he had been fighting alone, not using his elemental magic weapon. It wasn't that he wanted to train himself, but in a situation where his mental strength was severely substandard, releasing a 3rd level elemental magic weapon would instantly drain his mental strength.

Revealing such a big flaw in front of a mechanical witch who was adept at killing, wouldn't that be like applying a death ticket for himself? Therefore, Grim could only grit his teeth bitterly and use his not-so-'skilled' fighting skills to fight and tangle with a mechanical witch for so long.

Fortunately, the bitterness of these years had also given him a lot of hone, and with a plausible sorcery equipment, this was the only reason why he didn't gutter and become the opponent's prey.

But having been pestered by the other party for the past few days, Grim had also held a lot of anger. So as soon as he heard the chip beep, Grim threw down his meat steak without hesitation and rushed towards the distant campfire in big strides.

The mechanical witch seemed to have her own unique way of detecting and tracking, and at the slightest movement on Grim's side, she stood up in a puzzled form and looked out into the dark forest.

It was a journey that made no distinction between the two, and no distinction was made between the two, so if they got together they could clink and fight. But the number of night battles was still limited to a handful of times, after all, the two also needed some time to recover their mental strength and repair their own wounds.

Without the certainty of victory, neither side was willing to push the other into a desperate situation, thus incurring horrific injuries to themselves that were difficult to repair. Therefore, the night became a time of unspoken truce between the two. Although assassination, poisoning, harassment and a series of other small tactics were endless, an open battle had never been fought openly.

Therefore, regarding the unusual behavior of the wizard, Katy could not help but be extra vigilant.

In the current situation, the basic strength of both sides was still in favor of Kitty Katana. But when it comes to the cunning and difficulty of combat, Grim is the better fighter.

Often times, Knife Katie's superiority in combat was difficult to turn into a win with Grim's sneaky little tricks, which is why this otherworldly interception became so life-and-death, so drawn out.

The reason why he was so eager to fight that man wizard, given that Knife Katie was familiar with him, must have grasped some sort of winning opportunity.

Then...what could it be?

While Knife Katie was pondering and quickly preparing for battle, Grim had already whirled out of the mountain forest.

"Boy, haven't you suffered enough the last few times you've been beaten by my mother? Why can't you think of running to find... today?"

Before Katie's words were finished, Grim had already released the Elemental Magic Weapon without hesitation.

Seeing a 2-meter tall metal magic weapon rise up from the ground, with violent and fierce magic energy emanating from inside its golden alloy body, Blade Kathy's face instantly turned livid.

Rank 3... Damn it, this was a Rank 3 Magic Weapon!

From the strength of the other party's overflowing magical energy, and the momentum of destroying the heavens and the earth by raising her hands, the scarlet mechanical eyes in Knife Katie's eyes quickly judged the basic battle strength of the elemental magic weapon.

Damn damn damn damn.......This magic weapon was slightly inferior to herself in terms of agility, but whether it was strength, physique, or spirit, it was all a little stronger than herself. If she fought against such a big guy, Blade-Katie would barely be able to maintain a 60% chance of victory.

But even if she won, I'm afraid that her own strength and body would have to be greatly damaged.

If she fought against this big man and that wizard at the same time, the calculated odds of winning the battle were less than 3%.

So, with a wild roar, Kage-Katie's five metal blades flew out, intercepting the attacks of her two tall enemies. She herself, on the other hand, did not hesitate to turn around and run, quickly disappearing into the darkness of the mountain forest.

Face, dignity...what's that?

As if only the living needed those.

A war for the ages was over long before it even began!
