Age of Adepts

Chapter 1005 - Destiny Confrontation

Destiny Gauntlet.

The Tower of Destiny, which was high in the Dragon Bone Wilderness of the Northlands, had been shrouded in mist for a day and a night.

Ever since nightfall, the silent and restrained Tower of Destiny had been lit up like a huge torch at the top, emitting a dizzying glare that pierced through the mist and reached the dome of the sky.

Inside the tower, many Fate Witches were gathered in the Astrological Hall, trying their best to pull the power of the stars in order to show the way home to some lost wanderer in the distance.

The Mist of Fate that enveloped the tower's outskirts was clearly not the work of the Witches of Fate, but when the Fate markers pierced the vault of heaven and projected themselves into a distant void, the Mist of Fate rolled and shook and gathered, intending to regroup and cut off the pillars of light.

The mists and the pillars of light mixed and stirred together, causing the wind and clouds in the sky above the Dragon Bone Wilderness to change colors and waves.

The two powerful forces of destiny collided, twisted and annihilated each other, forming fragments of destiny and chaotic whirlpools of destiny that scattered everywhere, almost bringing about the destruction of the aborigines living in the Dragon Bone Wilderness.

Even the Tower of Destiny had to hold up its force field protection to avoid being damaged in the head-on clash between the two forces of Destiny.

When the terrifying torrent of Fate's power surged in the sky, the world's will, which had been sleeping quietly, suddenly pulsed and shattered the foreign Fate's power on its body with an incomparably strong will.

Like a pot of kerosene suddenly poured onto a torch, the bright pillar of light from the tower of destiny suddenly grew ten thousand times brighter and turned into a cluster of light arrows that pierced through the vault of the sky, instantly dispersing the white mist that had been enveloping it.

Above the emptiness, a woman's muffled grunt of anger and pain was faintly heard.

Immediately afterwards, this foreign force of fate slowly withdrew from the Northlands, exiting the Wizard World and dissipating into the endless storm of energy tides.

Within the tower of fate, the heavily armed Alice opened her mouth fiercely and couldn't help but spurt out a mouthful of blood, dyeing the prophetic scepter held tightly in her hand red. Her thin body swayed a few times, but eventually she gritted her teeth and stood firm.

Elemental elf Helen was flying anxiously at her side, constantly waving her little wand to give her one gaining spell after another, which was how Alice managed to survive the sparring session with the other 'Witch of Fate' that she had just had.

Grim was still careless!

The one-time inter-dimensional teleportation array he obtained was originally from the Fate Witch 'Misa', and how could he escape the interference of the other party if he wanted to use that teleportation array to return to the Wizard World. So, Grim chose the Tower of Fate instead of the Throne of Flame when setting up the bitmap, which gave Alice a chance to save his fate.

The Misa Witch attempts to use the power of Fate to tamper with the final teleportation waymark to transport Grim to a place outside the domain. Alice used the power of the group of Fate Witches, the astrological rituals, the prophetic scepter, and even a hint of the power of the long river of fate in the wizarding world, which is why she used the time and space beacons to pull Grim back to the correct trajectory.

The Misa Witch's recklessness had also triggered a backlash from the Wizard World, and as one could imagine, the first Destiny Witch was not necessarily better than Alice at this point.

After a delay of 31 hours, when the milky white light that lit up inside the teleportation formation began to slowly fade, the figures of Grim and the other four only turned from virtual to real, becoming clearer a little bit.

As soon as the teleportation was completed, the three witches inside the teleportation array brushed themselves together and fell to the ground, convulsing with a strong dry heaving. Even Grim, whose physique wasn't weaker than that of a rank 2 Body Refining Witch, had to be dizzy for a long time before she moved out of the teleportation formation step by step.

As a 3rd stage sorcerer, Grim had already experienced hundreds of teleportations, and even inter-dimensional ultra-teleportation would only have at most two or three handfuls of missing time, which would be like this one, where the entire teleportation process lasted for a full 31 hours.

It was like being in the midst of the intertwining of two space-time forces, a teleportation process that was obviously extremely short, but was stretched out into an endless space-time drift. Grim and the other four people were wrapped up in it, and they could be considered to be tossed miserably.

If it wasn't for the fact that the teleportation of several people had powerful sorcery protection, I'm afraid that just the tearing and stretching of the space-time force would be enough to leave them with terrible injuries that would never be healed.

Waiting outside the teleportation formation is naturally Alice, Helen and Xuefu hurriedly arrived.

When they saw the three bizarre witches inside the teleportation array, who had become foaming at the mouth, they couldn't help but raise their eyes to look at Grim.

"You're too risky this time! Knowing that the teleportation array is 'her' thing, you still dared to use it casually. If I hadn't noticed in time to draw you back, I'm afraid you'd be outside the domain at the moment, having tea with 'her'!" Alice grumbled in a haggard whisper.

Grim was now aware of his own recklessness.

The fact that this inter-dimensional transmission was so difficult had already made him realize that it was bad. Now that he heard Alice mention it, it was only now that he completely understood the whole story behind the scenes.

Seeing Alice's body so wasted and her spirit so depressed, Grim could fully imagine the intense confrontation that had taken place between the two Fate Witches during that time just now.

"Sorry, I was in a hurry this time!" Grim took a step forward and gently wrapped his arms around Alice's waist, letting her lean on him, apologizing in a low voice, "Somehow, I had a feeling that something was going to happen at home, and that's why I rushed back..."

Alice's pretty face blushed and reached out to push a few times to leave Grim's embrace. Unfortunately, the long mental and physical exertion made her really unable to lift much energy, so the hands braced on Grim's chest didn't look like pushing, but rather like caressing something.

Grim smiled slightly and kissed Alice's red lips as soon as he lowered his head.

Alice let out a wince and whirled around, lost in the sweet kiss.

"Oh my gosh, it's going to be a needle's eye..." little Helen quickly covered her eyes, and a whisker flew up. The ice maiden standing to the side, Snowflake, reached out and caught Helen in her hand, flicking its forehead with her finger as punishment, before placing it on her shoulder to go keep company with her own elf, Hannah.

It was a long time before Grim let go of Alice, who was red-faced and already somewhat unsteady on her feet.

After a few more moments to calm her mind a little, Alice then pointed to a couple of up and down witches in the teleportation array and inquired curiously, "Italiel... why did she come back with you? Where's Lena?"

Hearing Alice's mention of her mother's name, Xuef, who was standing on the side, also pricked up her ears.

"The teleportation slots are limited, so we'll have to be the first ones back." Grim explained a couple of sentences briefly, "Lena is still staying in the Enwik position to assist the witches there in re-establishing a permanent camp. Even the new teleportation waymark we brought back, as long as we give it to the Fraud Witches, they should be able to transport the remaining witches back."

With a strong sense of fate, both Alice and Xuef could sense that the story behind it couldn't be as simple as Grim's words. But in front of outsiders, they didn't have time to slowly interrogate anything.

Under the instructions of Xuef, the two pixies flew in front of the three witches and waved their little wands to cast a magic rainbow into their bodies, obliterating the remnants of the power of time for them.

Both Italiel and Old Poisoness were rank 3 existences, and although their physique and spirit were inferior to Grim's, they had a not weak foundation. As soon as the disordered force of time disappeared, they also rubbed their heads and slowly climbed up from the floor.

That teleportation just now was definitely not normal!

It was just a single inter-dimensional teleportation, but it almost killed him....

Italiel knew full well that there was something fishy behind the scenes, but in front of Alice and Grim, it was really hard to find out what, so she could only show her affection to the two.

As a 3rd level fraudulent witch, Italiel also has a tower of her own in the North. Whether it was her own strength or the power she belonged to, Italiel could not be an ordinary person, otherwise Lena wouldn't have begged for her to protect her.

"This time, I was able to escape back from Envik alive, but it was all thanks to Lord Grim's strength. I'll take down this favor from you, and when I return to the clan and finish reporting on the situation there, I'll definitely make a special trip to visit your witch tower!" Only after Italiel sincerely expressed her position to Grim did this tug the other rank 1 witch to step into the teleportation array and directly teleport back to her tower.

Seeing that this 3rd rank witch was actually so polite and humble to Grim, who was of the same rank, Alice and Xuef's mouths couldn't help but pout into an 'O' shape.

You know, most of the Northern Witches could be feminists and never looked down on those male witches who were not as strong as themselves. At any rate, Italiel was a Witch Tower Master, whose strength among the Fraudulent Witches was second only to the two 4th rank witches, and was usually never false to the male witches, but right now she called Grim 'my lord'....

The two women couldn't help but secretly wonder what had happened in that distant Enwick Plane to make the other party become so cautious and humble. Looking at this attitude, it was completely treating Grim as a 4th rank wizard!

Alice couldn't help but be puzzled as she had a fresh look at Grim, although his scent was obscure and mysterious and he couldn't see the concrete reality, the soul level was definitely 3rd stage right.

Seemingly seeing the two women's doubts, Grim smiled calmly and said in a low voice, "Don't move your head, if you want to know, I'll find time to tell you slowly!"

Alice could only hold back her nod, which landed her eyes on the only remaining old poisonous woman.

A 3rd rank....a 3rd rank witch....

But this scent on the other side was a bit too weird!

Why was it that there was always a feeling that this seemingly human and strange guy vaguely had a hint of a soul connection with Grim. A contract... yes, the smell of a soul contract!

"She's... a level 3 witch you forcibly enslaved?" Alice could not help but ask in horror.

Grim wasn't a soul sorcerer or a mind warlock, so he shouldn't have this ability to capture human slaves, right? Moreover, what kind of soul contract could have such a powerful binding force when they were both 3rd rank?

"It's not me, it's it!" Grim could only shrug a little and raised his hand to release the Plague Poison Spirit Remy.

Alice couldn't help but have a little twitch on her little face as she looked at another strange 3rd rank figure that appeared out of thin air.

Damn, why is it another 3rd rank....
