Age of Adepts

Chapter 1006 - Frost Giant Legion

The news of Grim's successful return to the Wizard World was tightly sealed by Alice.

When Mary saw the returning Grim on the fifth floor of the Flame Throne, she immediately jumped on him and viciously bit him to vent her frustration of being pinned down on the ground and beaten up by her powerful enemy all these years. But her little tantrum eventually turned into a bare knuckle 'physical' fight, which Grim eventually 'won' the hard way!

Since Grim was directly transported to the top of the Flame Throne through the Destiny Gauntlet transit, there was no more than a handful of people within the entire Crimson Family who knew the news of his return.

Ever since advancing to Level 3, Mary had always thought that she would not be too inferior to Grim in every aspect, even if she was the sole master. But it was only through this period of control over the Crimson Family that she suddenly understood the hardships of being a householder.

If all of the 4th rank witches in the Scattered Tallinn region in the middle of the continent were added together, there were at least 11 or 12 of them, and they had all created their own families or witch organizations. However, if you looked closely, there were only five families that could be called large sorcerer families in the entire Sandi Talin.

Why? The only reason is that growing a family requires too much effort involving the witches!

Many shamans established families either because they wanted to shade their bloodline descendants or to be able to conveniently collect some rare resources and sorcery items. They weren't willing to spend too much energy and effort outside of sorcery, so it was extremely difficult to rise to become a large family in the middle of the continent where the weak were the strong and competition was fierce.

Especially like the Crimson Family, which had risen quickly, gathered a red-hot and huge amount of resources, seriously threatened the territories and resource points of the other surrounding witchcraft families, and didn't have a strong backstage of its own. That was the real reason why the Crimson Family had been at war for nearly a hundred years!

Like the Sarubo family that Grim originally came from, although it didn't have a 4th rank wizard sitting behind it, it had a 6th rank great wizard who lived outside the domain. Therefore, there wouldn't be any unsighted witch powers waiting to trouble them.

Although the disputes and frictions between the Sarubo family and the surrounding witch powers never ceased, there were too few cases like the Crimson family where there were wars of extermination at every turn.

And in less than fifty years, the Crimson Family was already facing a second extinction crisis!

The Fabreus Family, as one of the five large sorcerer powers in the middle of the continent, had a 4th rank sorcerer sitting behind it, and the number of 3rd rank sorcerers within the family alone was as high as 15. This time, in order to not give the Crimson Family a chance to turn over a new leaf, it forcefully summoned back 7 3rd ranked sorcerers from the ruling different plane and outside the domain.

With this kind of strength, it's easy for them to deal with a Crimson Family that apparently only has two 3rd-ranked witches. As for the Crimson Family's ability to summon a large group of dragons from the Other Side, to be honest, the Fabreth Family wasn't shy at all.

The Crimson Family had its own indigenous mercenaries from the Other Side, and the Fabreth Family, being a large sorcerer family, was certainly more than capable of doing so.

As the war line got closer and closer to Sonta City, the resistance of the Crimson Family became more and more fierce, and the famous foreign legions of the Fabres Family also started to appear one by one.

The first to appear was naturally the Frost Giants.

The Fabreth family had occupied a sub-domain that clearly belonged to the Ice World, thus forming a powerful land warfare regiment made up purely of Frost Giants.

The Frost Giants belonged to a cold subspecies of the Giant race, and their appearance was that of an unusually stout, muscular human, usually around five meters tall, with frost-white skin and light blue hair braids.

The frost giants also have a gender, but both men and women are formerly strong warriors.

Individual Frost Giants can also master all the frost spells without any knowledge, becoming a different kind of ice mage. Although the spell combinations were a bit monotonous, the attack power and range was amazing.

However, the good news was that the probability of a Frost Giant Mage being born from the Frost Giant Tribe was still very low, so there were only seven Frost Giant Mages in this 500-strong Frost Giant Corps that the Fabres family sent to the battlefield.

However, as soon as these Frost Giant Corps stepped onto the battlefield, the pressure on the Crimson Family's side increased drastically!

It couldn't be helped, although most frost giants were just warriors, they could still do simple frost armor and freezing gas. Even these two extremely simple class spells, when combined with their brute strength, were instead more difficult and frightening than the Frost Giant mages.

When 500 Frost Giant warriors, who were more than five meters tall, with big and strong bodies, solid and dense muscles, and a pair of frost armor with freezing ability lingering outside their bodies, wrapped in spine-chilling cold currents, wielded their powerful demon-possessing battle axes and roared onto the battlefield, the Crimson Family's defense line was ripped apart in a matter of seconds, and their heads and tails were difficult to care about.

When the 3-meter-high metal weapons lined up in a row, spitting out metal projectiles and firing wildly at the frost giants advancing, the frost giant warriors covered their faces and throats with their thick, strong arms, ignoring the continuous stabbing pains on their bodies, rushing to the front of the metal weapons in one breath, before roaring and swinging their huge battle axes, sending one weapon flying through the air.

Visible to the naked eye, a large depression appeared at the chest position of the Metal Demonic Armament.

The original indestructible body at the bottom of the pit has been shattered and is turning into fine powder, revealing numerous strange magic weapon parts that are spinning wildly inside. The first thing you need to do is to take a look at the actual product.

Still flying in mid-air, a single Demonic Armament couldn't withstand such a majestic, giant swing and disintegrated in the air!

The successive martyrdom of the magical energy circuits and the sudden bursting of the magical energy source caused the metallic magic weapon to explode into a huge fireball in the air and sent thousands of metal fragments whooshing in all directions like bullets.

Relying on the power added by the Giants' tall size, even a 1st stage Frost Giant warrior possessed a power as powerful as a human 2nd stage Refining Sorcerer. In a one-on-one head-to-head fight, battle demons that weren't overly strong in metal obviously couldn't withstand the fury of the Frost Giant Warrior's blows.

In just the first charge, the Frost Giant Corps scattered the first line of defense of the Demonic Armament Corps and quickly strangled with the second and third lines of battle Demonic Armaments.

The top brass of the Crimson Family commanding the battle were also furious, and under their strict orders, a large number of Battle Demon Armaments rushed out of the defensive line and joined the chaotic strangling battlefield.

A dense stream of metal projectiles like rain crossed the battlefield and struck the tall and majestic bodies of the Frost Giant warriors. It was impossible for the Frost Giant's condensed Frost Armor to defend its body to the fullest, but vulnerable parts such as the throat, heart, crotch, and armpits were still heavily protected.

As for the other parts, the Frost Giant warrior could no longer care about them at all, and simply stopped protecting them, allowing the opponent to attack at will.

The metal curtain of bullets struck down, some of which were obliterated by the solid and dense muscles of the opponent and bounced to one side; some hit the frost armor, but apart from splashing out large puffs of ice and snow fragments, they couldn't damage the opponent at all; some avoided the front of the armor and penetrated the skin of the opponent, which was comparable to cowhide armor, and embedded in the muscle fibers or bones, and then fell down as the opponent took a big step forward....

Only those Frost Giant warriors who were set on fire by three or five metal magic weapons would be blown out of their frost armor and then beaten into a sieve in the stormy metal storm. However, even then, the opponent would still roll and howl on the ground for more than half a quarter of an hour, which would slowly and truly die.

The toughness and longevity of the Frost Giant warrior's life force was evident from this as well!

The Frost Giant Warriors didn't have the strict discipline and neat formation of humans, they were in groups of three to five, charging left and right like a daily hunt, indiscriminately hunting down the metal magic weapons that entered their attack range. The Demonic Armament Legion also sent out a large number of melee Demonic Armaments, holding a giant shield in one hand and wielding a two-meter-long steel sword in the other, to fight and entangle with each other.

As for the other Archer-type Demonic Armaments, they scattered to the periphery and flooded the opponent's body with a wildly roaring Magic Cannon and a dense stream of metal projectiles. It would often take more than 3 minutes of uninterrupted, frenzied fire from 5 Archer-type Demons to completely put a Frost Giant Warrior down, and in the meantime, the Demons would have to take turns from the squads of Frost Giant Warriors.

As a result, to eliminate a Frost Giant warrior, the Wraiths often have to pay 7-10 combat Wraiths.

And while the warriors were involved in the firepower of the magical weapons on the Crimson Family side, those middle and high ranking sorcerers of the Fabres Family stepped onto the battlefield under the cover of the Frost Giant mages.

A cloud of blinding blizzard, a violent and unparalleled thunder lightning, a shadow spear that lingered with terrifying black smoke, an incredibly powerful sorcerous fireball... With the protection of their frontline meat shields, the sorcerers' attacking power was instantly brought into full play, instantly bringing an astonishing number of attrition to the Demonic Armament Army.

However, the Crimson Family side was not weak either.

Amidst a resonant siren, the number of goblin organ warlocks numbering up to four hundred, the 'Tyrannical Blood Regiment', rushed onto the battlefield.

Compared to the monotonous and tedious attack method of the Combat Demon Armament, the Goblin Organ Warlock's attack patterns were simply multifarious and dazzling.

The front of the war demon armament body densely packed magic energy ray guns save shot out dense, different colors of magic energy ray, on both sides of the shoulder set up magic energy cannon is advancing, while the bombardment of continuous bombardment. The two metal arms of the war demon arm held flat, can spray out dozens of meters long, the temperature is incredibly high alchemical flames.

In the back of the War Demon Armament, a small weapon platform, but also ceaselessly thrown to all corners of the battlefield alchemical ** or self-destructing machinery.

A Goblin Organ Warlock was simply a small arsenal that could move, rumbling forward in large strides while firing unceasingly at all moving enemy targets in all directions.

That dense rain of bullets, that ferocious firepower, that unrelenting momentum... instantly lifted the momentum that had just been somewhat sluggish.

For a moment, the Crimson Family stood firm once again!
