Age of Adepts

Chapter 1228 - Laws of Fire

Seeing the visitor, the few Flame Guards present bowed and saluted.

"My name is Leiolis, a lord under King Gromus, and I am here to greet Your Excellency. Please follow me, Your Excellency." The massive ten-meter tall molten fire giant was talking to Grim in a muffled, strange voice.

Turning its face, it looked at the flaming guard who had tried to start a fight earlier and snapped, "Drat, you're being rude to your guest, and I'll punish you with ten years of hard labor in the Shattered Abyss, picking enough of the hundred finest burning stones to return."

"Yes!"

The flaming guard looked glum as he bowed his head, bowing once more at the molten fire giant before turning and heading off into the distance under the escort of a group of earth fire spiders.

The rest of the flaming guards had a look of fear and dismay on their faces, and backed away to make way for Grim to move forward.

The elemental creatures could never have the red tape of human society, and after teaching these men a lesson, the molten fire giant turned around and stepped into the sea of ashes once again. The tumbling, steaming sea of fire automatically parted on either side the moment the other approached, revealing a bizarre path specially laid out by flaming crystals.

Grim, still maintaining his human form, followed closely behind that molten fire giant and also walked into the Sea of Ashes.

It was a strange path that stretched endlessly through the sea of fire.

The flames that tumbled and vibrated inside the Sea of Ashes silently sliced apart in front of them, divided to the sides, and then silently bridged together behind the two of them. It was as if the two of them were walking inside a transparent glass envelope, the calm inside the envelope and the flames outside the envelope, completely two different scenes.

That Molten Fire Giant didn't seem to be a guy who was good at socializing either, and was only concerned with burying himself in the ground, without any intention of climbing into conversation with Grim.

Although the Sea of Ashes was called the Sea of Death by the vast number of fire elemental creatures, and it was impossible for any life forms to exist in it. But as Grim followed the Molten Fire Giant on his long journey across that nearly hundred miles, through the Fire God Pearl's senses and the chip's scans, he was still able to detect signs of the presence of strands of flame life not far outside the mask.

These guys seemed to be extremely curious about Grim's arrival, diving into the depths of the sea of fire without knowing where they were, and then coming out to sneak a peek near the mask... Of course, the Molten Fire Giant knew full well about their existence, but he did not explain it to Grim.

So Grim could only have doubts in his mind and secretly estimated.

According to the chip's detection, the energy level of the ordinary fire elemental bit space had reached one or two hundred degrees. This meant that an outsider would have to endure nearly two hundred degrees of flame damage every moment inside the fire elemental plane.

And with 200 degrees of elemental damage, this was something that only a 2nd rank sorcerer in the Sorcerer World could achieve!

Therefore, the lowest level requirement for exploring the Fire Elemental Realm was Level 2. Moreover, other spectrum sorcerers in the Fire Elemental Realm couldn't get any supplemental elemental energy from the outside world, so once their body's sorcerer power was exhausted by the harsh environment, they would be forced to leave this place.

However, inside this sea of ashes, the energy level of the bitonal space had soared to over a thousand degrees. Without the protection of the Flame Law, even those flame creatures would not be able to survive here.

And that Molten Fire Giant was able to move freely in the Sea of Ashes, so naturally, he also possessed the Flame Law. If... if Grim was able to kill it and take away the Flame Core in its body, there was a great chance that it would be able to resolve the Flame Laws it possessed.

And this looting type of flame law acquisition could be much quicker than one's own painstaking experience and comprehension.

But looking at the opponent's ten-meter-tall lava body, the terrifying stone fist that was as large as a millstone, and the surging and vast flame energy within its body... even if Grim were to pour his heart out and transfer the Shadow Demon out as well, the odds of winning in an environment like the Sea of Ashes would only be 73%!

And Grim would also need to pay for this with his own light injuries and the Shadow Demon's heavy injuries.

If the other side was more violent and detonated the Heart Core in a moment of defeat, Grim would gain nothing. Other than gaining a body full of wounds and bits and pieces of molten fire debris, he would gain nothing else.

And with Grim's knowledge and familiarity with these flaming creatures, self-destructing in defeat was a high probability!

It was because of the difficulty of these flame creatures, and the difficulty of obtaining much loot from them, that few wizard families in the wizarding world were willing to explore the fire elemental plane as their main direction .

These flame creatures were too poor and too rigid... conquering them simply wasn't worth the effort!

The hundred-mile journey was quickly spent in a fit of imagination on Grim's part.

When the huge palace of that Flame Monarch Gromse appeared in front of Grim, even the usually calm and composed him was a little distracted.

The wooden palace, stone pillars, hundreds of top-heavy stone pillars as thick as five people held up this tall and grand palace. To be able to build and support such a huge hall inside this terrifying sea of flames and ashes was no small miracle in itself.

The amount of manpower and huge resources that had been expended on it was a bit staggering for Grim to estimate alone!

The Flame Monarch was worthy of being the Flame Monarch, and only such a character could match such a place of wonder....

....................

It was blazing red, possessing terrifyingly high temperatures that even the void was burning. And yet, it was extremely harmonious, as if the flame and the surrounding void were one and the same. No matter how fierce it burned, it would not stir up the slightest spatial fluctuation.

As soon as Grim stepped into the palace, his eyes stared straight at the violently burning humanoid flame, his eyes filled with all sorts of astonishment and horror. He was no longer a rookie who didn't know anything anymore, and having the power of a 4th stage Fire Witch, the party had allowed him to see all the extraordinary things about the flame in front of him.

This was the power of fire derived directly from the laws of the place, naturally different in essence from the ordinary flames burning in the world, and the power condensed at its core naturally carried a hint of sublime holiness!

Although Grim boasted that he had mastered some flame laws, it was only a hint of flame laws mixed in with ordinary flame sorcery. But the fireman in front of him was so pure and sublime, the flames in his body were purely condensed from the fire of the Laws, not a trace of mixing, not a trace of disorganization....

All the Laws of Fire converged into a gurgling flowing stream that circulated within its body, behaving in an exceptionally tame and obedient manner. But Grim, who had personally manipulated the Law Fires, knew in his heart how wild and violent they were.

Even just a single drop or trace of the Law Fire leaking out could cause an incalculably terrifying firestorm to this world!

The giant of fire, on the other hand, was like a terrifying statue, allowing the fire of the Law that had gathered into a gurgling stream to flow quietly within him, all without feeling any discomfort or the appearance of being difficult to support.

Grim stood silently, gazing at the other for a long time.

Although the other party didn't have words or expressions, Grim could benefit greatly from just observing and speculating on the form of his existence.

At his class, there was no longer a ready-made example to follow as to what the future path should be. The only thing he could do was to set himself a path and direction that he could continue to develop based on his own potential and current situation.

And now, seeing the true existential form of a 5th Order Flame Monarch with his own eyes also gave Grim a sudden reference point and the time and opportunity to correct his past mistakes.

Thus, the moment he stepped into the Hall of Flames and looked directly at the Giant of Fire, Grim suddenly froze, and his entire body was plunged into a chaotic, confusing, yet mysterious and bizarre feeling.

The fellow who was high up, as if he was a golden giant of fire Ug opened his eyes and had a glance at the disoriented and stunned Grim, with a hint of appreciation and regret in his eyes.

"Your majesty, what's wrong with this fellow? Do you want me to wake him up..." the molten fire giant Raiolis, who looked more powerful and majestic in appearance than the Flame King, couldn't help but buzz.

"No!" The Giant of Fire scolded in a bad mood, "You fools have followed me for so long, but I haven't seen you comprehend anything. You guys who only have lumps but no brains... Do you think that only the size of a lump can determine the strength of a strong man? Don't forget that we are creatures of flame, and only the mastery and level-up of our fire power is the source of our power..."

The Molten Fire Giant was scolded dizzily and could only scratch his skull and buzz, "Your Majesty, why are you suddenly getting angry again? Haven't I already raised a small step in the last three hundred years!"

"Hmph, it took almost 300 years of staying by my side to rise from 4th rank intermediate to advanced, and you still have the nerve to be proud? Look at this human sorcerer, he had an epiphany just after seeing me... In my opinion, in less than ten years, his level will catch up with yours! When the time comes..."

"And when the time comes, I won't be afraid of him!" Molten Fire Giant Reolis proudly said, "With that little piece of him, even if his rank is on par with mine, all I need to destroy him is one punch!"

The Fire Giant's face instantly darkened, and the fire of the Laws flowing quietly within his body showed signs of accelerating its fury.

"Bastard Bastard... how many times have I told you that it's not muscles and masses that determine our strength, but the level of the Laws of Fire! Without the support of the Law of Fire, what use is it for you to have such a huge empty mass?"

The Molten Fire Giant who had been scolded once again tried to defend himself, but was directly interrupted by the Fire Giant who had suddenly discovered something strange.

"Hey, what's this thing? It's amazing that it can hide inside the shadow matter... Hehe, since you've reached my Hall of Flames, come out!"

The Giant of Fire's eyes were wide open, faintly gazing at the top of the piece of shadow beneath Grim that had shrunk to almost the size of a fist, and with a flaming hand flip, the endless power of flame instantly burned through every inch of the great hall.

Where the power of flame burst into flames, there was no place for shadows to hide!

A bizarrely shaped and bulky metallic puppet suddenly appeared in the center of the main hall.
