Age of Adepts

Chapter 1229 - The Flame Monarch's Quest

"Drop, one 5th order flame creature template detected..."

"The layers are stable, the energy is stable, the mental model is stable..."

"Data comparison is underway to correct and refine the ontology base model..."

"Drip, data comparison complete... 31 ontology data deviations, 17 type fallacies, 164 invalid points, and 6 serious data errors have been found... Please instruct the ontology whether or not to follow the new 5th order flame creature template. Making data corrections?"

The moment Grim saw the Giant of Fire, the chip, as if it had suddenly discovered a new continent, began to frantically require Grim's mental energy, redirecting it into the chip's efficient data operation. Even with Grim's mental energy of up to 4th stage, it was somewhat difficult to support such crazy data running.

It was as if a black hole had suddenly appeared in Grim's mind and began to crazily devour his mental energy.

But the good news was that he was not what he used to be, and he finally gritted his teeth to withstand the chip's frantic demands, gradually stabilizing the chip's data operation.

"Establish and perfect the 5th order biological template first, and then make the corresponding ontological corrections when we have time in the future!" After surviving the first round, Grim had finally stopped the chip's madness and regained control of his body.

Only that the round just now had consumed nearly 70% of his mental energy, causing his mental state to instantly become depressed.

And it was only when he freed up some of his mental energy to bring himself back to normal that he realized that the situation around him was vaguely wrong. The Shadow Demon that was supposed to stealthily protect him had already appeared, and was standing in front of him desperately trying to get rid of the restraints of a flame rope.

Seemingly sensing a renewed glow in Grim's undisciplined eyes, the giant of fire that was perched high above the palace finally spoke.

"You've finally woken up... This little guy is quite interesting, and if you don't wake up, I'm going to capture it and study it!"

The sound wasn't huge or loud, but it was extremely majestic inside this flame hall. Moreover, as the sound propagated, it seemed to trigger the ubiquitous resonance of the fire element within the palace, making the sound even more majestic and heartbreaking.

Grim endured the severe headache caused by the rapid depletion of mental energy in the depths of his mind, and after settling his mind, he finally bowed to the strange giant of fire.

"It is an honor to receive you and to be guided by you. Grim would like to express his heartfelt gratitude to the great King Gromth!"

"Kid, don't be in a hurry to thank me yet, there are some old scores between us that need to be settled together!" The giant of fire grunted and had a look at Grim with a hint of mischief in his eyes.

"I wonder what the great monarch is referring to?"

"Two hundred years ago, you broke into the fire elemental plane and murdered one of my flame lords. How should we settle this debt?"

Two hundred years ago....the Flame Lords....

Grim's mind spun rapidly, quickly matching up with certain pieces of his memory.

"I am sorry for offending your majesty by being reckless and ignorant in my youth, Your Majesty!" Grim hurriedly solemnized his face and acted as if he was sincerely admitting his mistake.

The other party, as a 5th rank Flame Monarch, had called himself to the Fire Elemental Plane in such a convoluted manner, naturally, it couldn't be just for the matter of a tiny 2nd rank underling being killed two hundred years ago. The other party was clearly preparing for what was going on below by acting in such a manner.

Grim certainly knew full well about this, yet he could only lower his stance and come along for the ride.

"There are plenty of 2nd rank Flame Lords under my command, this wasn't a big deal. But you killed without telling me, making me the laughing stock of several Flame Lords, so it's not my turn to ignore it!" The Giant of Fire had a leisurely attitude, no expression visible on his face made of golden flame condensation.

"Grim is willing to do his best to make up for the mistakes he has made... If there is anything you need, Grim will do his best!"

The Fire Giant had a smile on his face, seemingly extraordinarily satisfied with Grim's knowledge.

"I'm looking for the same thing! Originally, I was going to use that Misa guy's power to find it, but unfortunately it failed. Now, that item should be in Misha's hands, so I want you to help me retrieve it!"

Grim snapped, horrified, "To take what Misa has? My lord, that Misa is a 7th rank great witch!"

The Giant of Fire muffled a maniacal laughter, "I'm not that stupid to let you go directly against a 7th rank great witch. That Meisha, relying on the blessing of fate, has been peeping around at the private privacy of all of you strong men, and then using this means to threaten and entice you to work for her. Such behavior is extremely bad, and has already caused everyone's discontent."

"But don't worry, her original body is hidden inside a mysterious space called the Domain of Destiny, and she usually won't even take a half step outside of there. The ones who are out there running to control the situation for her are either the Fate Branches that she has split off from, or some otherworldly powerhouses who are driven and seduced by her. You won't meet her ontology!"

"Some time ago, she sent a Fate Splitter to meet me, to use my power against you. The means of blackmailing me was that item... That bitch knew that I was looking for that item and sent someone to snatch it away beforehand. So, I wasn't going to help her this time, and that's why I brought you here..."

Grim took a deep breath and calmly asked, "What do you want me to do?"

"The last I heard, the item had made its way to the Wizarding World! It's an area that even I can't easily set foot in, so..."

"So you want me to help you take that thing back?"

"Good! As long as you can do that, I'll be on your side in your future fights with that bitch! Hehe, although I am not the strongest one in the Fire Elemental plane, I am one of the seven Flame Lords. With my support, you can become one of the Fire Lords of this world. When the time comes to allocate you a piece of territory, you'll be considered a part of the Fire Elemental Lord... How about that, is this condition generous enough!"

Grim gazed at it for a moment and resolutely said, "I'm actually more concerned about the Laws of Flame than the territory... I'd like to know how you quench and condense the fire of such a vast law?"

The air in the entire Flame Hall suddenly froze!

Gromus, the Giant of Fire, stared silently at Grim, finally spreading a smile after a long time.

"Law of Fire? That's a good name... But for us fire elemental creatures, fire is fire, so there's no need to give them so many weird names. The fire of law you speak of, we call it the fire of origin... If you want to know the secret of the fire of origin, then trade that item for it!"

At any rate, Gromoth was a Flame Monarch, and with its identity and strength, it would be enough to become a Flame Deity there when it went to an ordinary world. Therefore, its every move, every word and every deed also affected the law power of the Fire Elemental Plane, having a not weak contractual effect.

So Grim nodded in silence and tentatively reached a cooperation agreement with the other party.

On the way out, Grim finally couldn't help but ask.

"Lord Grimms, I wonder what that thing you want is?"

After a moment of silence, the Fire Giant suddenly tossed over a flame crystal and buzzed, "Don't look here, don't ask, and don't tell... Go find that new Destiny Witch! She'll give you all the answers..."

Grim would nod his head, bowing once more before turning around and exiting the Hall of Flames.

The Shadow Demon, on the other hand, quietly followed behind him until it left the Hall of Flames, only then did it rejoin Grim's back.

"Chip, how was the harvest?"

"Drop, Level 5 Flame Creature Model is 22% complete... Flame Law Perception has increased to 71%, and has mastered two new Flame Laws: easy wounding of fire and fire toughness."

"Fire Vulnerability: this body can reduce the target's fire resistance to a negative number at the cost of zeroing out its own defense."

"Fire Toughness: a target that is attacked by this body will not extinguish the fire that ignites on their body on their own."

Also two pretty good flame laws, Grim sighed silently as he stepped up his efforts to get back to his witch tower.

Two months later, Grim, who had been dusty and on the move for half a year, finally returned to the Flame Throne.

............

Destiny Gauntlet.

The enchanting and brilliant starry river finally faded away, and Alice's glad and graceful figure appeared before Grim once again.

"How about it, was the prophecy heavy on you this time?" Grim stepped forward and supported Alice with concern.

While gently pulling his hair back and giving him a furious white glance, Alice didn't have the heart to say, "I'm at least a 4th rank witch, why am I so weak in your mind?"

"Yeah, yeah...men are hypocrites! Obviously, he wanted to ask if the prophecy was successful, but he pretended to be a good person. Hmph..." that annoying little elf Helen scolded loudly as she happily circled around the two, sprinkling a layer of glow along the way.

"Who did it learn that from, and why is it starting to talk poorly too?" Grim rolled his eyes and waved his hand to grab the elf, but the other cleverly dodged it.

"Who else could it be...it's not that increasingly cynical arcane apprentice...no, you can't call her an arcane apprentice anymore. That guy actually advanced on his own without guidance, and she's...now an Arcane Apprentice!"

"An arcane apprentice has advanced in the wizarding world?" The muscles on Grim's face couldn't help but twitch twice, and he couldn't believe his ears.

It seemed that during the last Austrian Empire Destruction War, the Wizard World had acquired the appropriate Austrian knowledge system. At least the underlying arcane system was already basically complete, which made it possible to support the arcane advancement within the bit.

This foreign arcane apprentice was only the first, and the next, as long as he met the arcane promotion rules, there would be a second and a third....

From this, a special branch of wizardry would most likely be born within the wizarding world!
