Age of Adepts

Chapter 1237 - Lake Battlefield

This is a huge lake located in front of the Blueberry Manor.

Under the shroud of night, through the calm surface of the lake, one could remotely see the brightly lit manor across the street, and could even faintly hear the sound of joyful music.

With Grim's vision, he could even see the small flying platform that he had docked at when he came here.

"What did you bring me here for?" Grim looked around and couldn't help but ask.

"This is just a temporary home for me to rest in, and there is no large arena, so it's hard for us to fight at full strength." Olivia, still dressed in her palace dress, leisurely raised her hand to the lake in front of her and said calmly, "In that case, let's use this lake as the battlefield!"

Grim listened calmly.

"Using the lake as a battlefield, whoever is forced out of the lake or knocked out of the water loses. In addition, this manor is also full of my kin, and I don't want them to get injured in our encounter, so whoever can't control the power and it spreads beyond the lake counts as a loss! How about that, is it acceptable?" Olivia stood proudly, the icy night breeze messing with her long black hair and also pressing her light dress tightly against her, accentuating her ruggedness more and more.

"What if there's a split?" Grim looked unmoving, not a hint of tension visible on his young, handsome face.

"If you win, the terms are up to you. If you want the Light Flame God Stone, I'll give it to you with both hands, free of charge. But if you lose, you'll have to make a deal according to my earlier proposal!" Olivia snapped.

"Fair and reasonable, I accept!" Grim nodded his head in unthinking agreement.

"Then get in!" Olivia snapped and was the first to walk first into the lake.

Yes, she 'walked' into it, not flew in.

Just as she finished speaking, two strange auras of black and white suddenly appeared around her body and coiled up and down to vibrate. The two rings looked like they were made of countless glowing lights, and in the process of vibrating and colliding, there would be stars and beautiful energy spilling down, looking so mesmerizingly illusory and beautiful.

And under the lingering black and white aura, Olivia's body looked like it had lost its weight, and by tapping the surface of the lake with her fair toes, she stepped towards the heart of the lake.

"Drops, two strange magnetic fields detected, magnetic poles opposite, powerful energy... Magnetic pole properties in dynamic change..."

"Dynamic changes?" Grim frowned at the chip's prompt, "Can you determine the basic characteristics of the two magnetic poles?"

"Drops, the black-colored aura possesses a magnetic property of attraction, and the white-colored aura possesses a magnetic property of repulsion... The collision and coupling of the two forces will also produce a special magnetic chaos that is predicted to cause terrible damage to living beings.... ...Also note: This damage ignores defense and cannot be blocked by normal elemental protection..."

"Cripes... "Grim immediately got two heads in one, and for the first time, he was in awe of this Torturing Witch.

There wasn't a single good guy who could become a 4th rank, especially these guys who had been famous for a long time were a tough nut to crack. It was no wonder that the other party dared to make such a big thorn in their side to ask for a fight!

But the 'big lie' had already been told, and impromptu cowardice was not Grim's style.

Therefore Grim grabbed out his Fire Coral Wand as soon as he probed it, and with a slight stroke, a light of fire flew out of the wand, condensing into two wings of flame behind him. The huge wings of flame fluttered slightly, and Grim flew over the heart of the lake like an arrow off a string.

Behind him, however, was branded a series of long-standing traces of flames that were difficult to dissipate.

In his daily travels, Grim either used the Demon Puppet to walk, or used flame jumping or teleportation, and almost rarely used the Flame Wings. The only reason for this was that the Flame Wings were too eye-catching and drawn out!

The Flame Wings, made purely from static flame condensation, clung to their backs and fluttered continuously, providing Grim with a powerful stasis and swift flight speed. But such two huge flames stood out of nowhere in the night, clearly visible even from dozens of miles away.

And where the flames flew past, the flame trails were long and hard to quell, almost as if they were a striking way to guide a tracker's course. It was almost a huge joke to run away in Flame Wings.

But today, faced with the terrifying magnetic aura of the Torturing Witch, Grim had to attach Flame Wings to himself in order to improve his maneuverability.

The huge Flame Wings approaching the sky immediately caught the attention of the distant Blueberry Manor.

A huge sorcery mask appeared out of nowhere to envelop the entire Blueberry Manor underneath it, and countless tiny black dots rose from the manor, looking this way distantly, but none of the guys who knew what was going on ran over to disturb the two 4th rank witches.

"Are you ready?" Olivia looked up to examine Grim, flying high above her, coldly.

"At your service!"

As soon as the words were out of her mouth, Olivia grabbed at Grim with one hand and snapped, "Get off me!"

At some point, the white aura around her body had disappeared and bizarrely appeared above Grim's head. In the next second, the powerful to terrifying strange gravity acted on Grim's body, crushing him and sinking him violently in the air.

Grim was horrified and shocked.

His entire body was under the protection of the powerful flame force all the time, and any external exotic force that wanted to act on him would have to break through this invisible layer of flame force field to do so. But now, as soon as the other party first exerted his power, the strange gravity had already penetrated the flame force field and landed on his body without any delay.

His hair, his skin, his flesh and blood, his tendons and bones, along with everything in his body were all being pulled and suppressed by an invisible and immaterial force, pushing him downwards viciously.

If Grim's constitution was below 20 points, I'm afraid that his internal organs would have suffered damage from that earlier. If Grim didn't have the power of flame added to his body, an ordinary flying technique wouldn't be able to carry this level of gravity suppression.

Grim shouted furiously as he accelerated and slapped the Flame Wings behind him while waving his wand to condense five fiery fireballs that flew at Olivia.

The best defense was offense!

The other party's gravity control was too bizarre to be left to its full strength.

Facing the five incoming fireballs, Olivia's eyes didn't tremble at the corners of her eyebrows.

She raised her right hand lightly, and two ultra-small white halos appeared in front of the fireballs.

Under the manipulation of the strange gravity, the first two fireballs instantly changed course and collided, detonating the following three fireballs.

Five fireballs imbued with violent flame energy exploded in the air and burst into a huge fireball on the surface of the lake. The terrifying flame shockwave rolled around the scorching flames and instantly overturned the lake's surface by nearly a thousand meters.

The lake water tumbled and boiled in an instant under the baking and burning of the scorching heat.

Curls of white smoke steamed up, creating a miserable mist over the battlefield. But before the mist could disperse, it was directly vaporized by the terrifying heat of the scene, also revealing the silhouettes of the two distantly confronting 4th rank wizards.

"You think that the power of a mere flame can compete with my gravity control? Taste my quadruple gravity aura!" Olivia, who hadn't been injured in the earlier explosion, gave a light sigh, and her body bulged with power, and three more white rings appeared near the white aura that had been suppressing Grim's head, and quickly fused with the former.

His eyes, ears, mouth, nose and mouth instantly produced purple and black blood, indicating that his internal organs had been injured and his muscles and bones damaged. His torso was like a cannonball as it was swiftly pushed down into the sky and rushed straight into the lake.

Seeing that this Legendary Fire Witch of Honor Scattered Earth Tallinn was going to be injured under his gravity aura as soon as he started, Olivia immediately laughed wildly, her hands continuously and rapidly stroking, constantly manipulating the gravity aura in order to prevent the other party from breaking free.

There was a muffled thud.

A huge flame crashed through the surface of the lake, sinking straight to the bottom of the lake.

But Olivia, who witnessed this, not only didn't look happy, but her smile tightened, and the black and white aura around her body shifted itself out of thin air by a hundred meters.

As soon as she moved away, a huge meteorite fell from the sky and crashed into the lake.

A thick column of water rose into the sky, rising a hundred meters into the air before it turned into boiling water and fell down. The terrifying impact first lowered the surface of the water, and then turned into a several-meter-high wave that roared in all directions in a circular shape.

Olivia's right hand drew a circle in front of her, and a strange gravity aura instantly coalesced, dividing the oncoming giant waves to the two sides. Olivia, who was hiding behind the aura, didn't even get half a trace of moisture in her hair.

After resolving the giant wave, Olivia stared at Grim who reappeared in the sky through the illusory gravity aura, her eyes finally showing a hint of vigilance.

At that moment just now, what was pressed into the water was only a humanoid flame, not Grim's own body. And this Grim had strangely appeared in another place, taking advantage of Olivia's somewhat slack heart to inspire that terrifying flame sorcery, Meteorite Skyfall.

If Olivia hadn't been experienced enough to sense the problem and dodge out in time, she would have been defeated even if she had caught the falling meteorite and smashed it into the bottom of the lake.

What kind of ability was this? To be able to make a flame simulate one's soul breath and then stealthily hide in the shadows himself to perform a sneak attack... Damn it, this Legendary Fire Witch sure has some tricks up his sleeve!

Olivia looked flickering, and her eyes couldn't help but fall distantly on the witch staff Grim was grasping in his hand. For some reason, she always felt that the witch staff was able to project a strange pressure on her mind, and that she always had a strange feeling of being controlled.

There was something wrong with that wizarding staff....
