Age of Adepts

Chapter 1258 - The Gathering of Demons

It was a lonely space located deep in the void.

The dark and deep sea of stars twinkled unceasingly in the sky, and each beautiful and shining star represented a healthy and perfect bit of the world. It was only because they were too far away that they shrank to an inscrutable dot on the pitch-black sky.

In the eyes of beings stepping out of the plane for the first time, these shining stars seem to be close at hand, as if they can reach out and grab them in their hands, but this is only an illusion.

Even the star closest to them might be hundreds of millions of miles away. If those bit creatures are bewitched by the beauty of the stars and want to get closer, they will be horrified to realize that even if they fly for eight or ten years, they won't be able to get close to these stars.

A stone's throw away... the vastness and majesty of the starry sea world was simply not something that the surface creatures could experience!

The Void is not empty.

The vast majority of emptiness appeared to be empty on the surface, as if there was nothing in it. But only those who have experienced it can truly understand the true meaning of what emptiness isn't. The emptiness isn't empty, but filled with tumultuous energy tides. The void was not empty, but filled with fluctuating energy tides that converged at times and dispersed at others, forming a magnificent ocean of energy wonders.

It was just that such a sight that ordinary bit creatures were simply not qualified to appreciate or get close to!

Under the erosion and grinding of the energy tides day and night, all those substances that lacked the protection of the energy system would be decomposed and reduced to various tiny elemental particles that were imperceptible to the naked eye, reincorporating into the void.

Right now, however, there was a huge meteorite about a hundred meters in radius that was tumbling and drifting in the void. The surface of the meteorite intersected with the ubiquitous energy tides, splashing out dazzling sparks of fire and steaming clouds.

The tumbling and vibrating energy tides were like a greedy beast, continuously washing and grinding the huge meteorite, and from time to time, it would tear off some grey and black powder from it, and throw them into the depths of the void where it was hard to see.

If nothing else, this piece of continental debris that had drifted down from one of the broken bits would be swallowed up by the Void Storm in three to five years, and not even a bit of the last remnant would be left.

But at the moment, it has become a place for some strange beings to take shelter.

In the midst of a hazy, dense white death, the Witch Demon Kangonas was standing quietly on a certain flat spot on the surface of the giant rock. Beneath its feet, a small 5-meter-square amulet array was flickering, transmitting a strange fluctuation that was difficult for outsiders to detect.

It had been waiting here for as long as a year, and by the looks of it, it seemed like it could continue to wait indefinitely forever.

Of course, its waiting was not pointless!

Finally, with a slight tremor of energy tides, a tiny dot of light in the pitch-black dome of the sky drew closer and closer, and slowly leaned towards this landing spot floating in the depths of the sea of stars.

A moment later, the brilliant smoky fire cloud on the meteorite's surface parted, and a strange creature with a particularly strong and powerful physique broke in.

It was a strange creature that resembled a scorpion in shape, with a body length of 5 meters and a layer of light golden hard armor covering the surface of its body.

Its torso was divided into three sections: the front, middle and back.

The middle torso was the longest and narrowest, surrounded by four pairs of metal-shining, sharp knuckles. The head at the front was short and flexible, with a pair of huge and terrifying insect pincers protruding from both sides of the skull. Behind the body was also a bony, scary scorpion tail, and the half-meter-long tail pin at the end was pitch black, faintly emitting an unpleasant bitter smell.

Coming from the void, its surface held up an earthy yellow mask, protecting itself from the ubiquitous tides of energy that eroded it.

As soon as it intruded here, the odd exotic scorpion flashed its ghostly green compound eyes, keeping a firm eye on the Witch Demon Kanganus. The latter, however, did not seem surprised by its arrival, instead 'communicating' in a slightly languid tone.

"Sand King, you're early! Those guys haven't even arrived yet, so you can rest here for a while."

"Kangenas, I hope you've invited some tough guys this time, otherwise... that ice dragon isn't going to be easy to deal with!" The 'Sand King' Exotic Scorpion likewise responded with the words of spirit.

"Don't worry, the ones invited this time are all strong people who have been screened, so there won't be any mistakes..." the Witch Demon Kangenas contracted into a golden cross-like condensed soulfire that projected out through the two large rubies, its mental strength was simply staggering.

And as the initiator of this mission, it naturally possessed convincing authority as well.

Therefore, after hearing the Witch Demon's assurance, the Exotic Scorpion stopped speaking, swayed its body to the corner of the meteorite, lay down on the hard, steel-like ground and began to close its eyes to recover.

To be able to pass through the starry sea, dripping through the void storm to come here, naturally there will be no good fault, is the appearance of an inconspicuous scorpion, the body is also overflowing with the powerful power of the 4th stage. With its powerful flesh * body strength and armor hard, in the empty storm to drive a ten thousand miles does not lose much power.

But in this empty, temporary landing place, it couldn't find anything else to do but close its eyes and rest.

The arrival of the Different Scorpion was like the beginning, and in the following half a year, two more powerful existences came in and after a brief exchange with the Witch Demon, they started to rest on the ground.

So far, this small meteorite less than a hundred meters square has hosted four powerful existences from various different planes. They were each in a corner, silently waiting and communicating with each other, seemingly not caring about the passage of time.

Finally, two more months passed without any more outsiders arriving, and the first of the alien scorpion sand kings couldn't hold back any longer.

"Ahem, Congenas, is the person you called out for still coming or not? If no one comes, it's time we discussed how to act back there!"

"Don't worry, that man will be here for sure! Also, his power is very helpful to us in this operation, so..."

"Hmph, he's so big-headed that he made my lord wait for him for so long... I'll have to see which bit of power he's from later!"

"Oh, look, just as I was saying...he's here!"

As the sharp spiritual words of the Witch Demon Kanganus echoed in this small space, a dazzling fire ignited in the void in the distance, then amidst a huge roar, the fire appeared and was rapidly approaching this place.

Almost in the blink of an eye, the fire in the middle of the meteorite burst into the sky, and a strange human figure of only 2 meters in height suddenly emerged. A moment later, the firelight dissipated, and only then was the figure of this strange visitor clearly seen by the crowd.

This last visitor was actually a human!

The visitor wore a strange set of black dragon skin soft armor, a dark cloak over it, and a hood that covered most of his face, revealing only a sharp, fair chin and two strands of sideburns that shone with a dark red luster.

He was only 2 meters in height, neither fat nor thin.

Such a height might be considered a large man among humans, but within this bizarre gathering place, he became an authentic 'little man'.

Even the Witch Demon Kangenas had a height of will all 3 meters, and as for the others, they were even huge and strong, with an intimidatingly great body.

The human sorcerer was leaning on a reddish red strange sorcerer's staff, with an insipid magic jewel embedded in its head. At his waist was a large, thick book suspended from a silver chain, and looking at the gold and silver-encrusted corners of the book, it seemed to be very handy for smashing people.

The visitor's face was very young and handsome. However, those present were all old monsters who had endured centuries of suffering, so naturally they would not take his appearance to be a newcomer to the Witch Demon.

When the Witch Demon Kangenas saw the human wizard arrive, his scarlet soul fire dripped around his body. When the 'gaze' fell on the large, thick book at his side, the soulfire shrank and his mental energy fluctuated.

It was that Holy Book of Wisdom?

But the smell isn't right either! Does this fire witch have a second powerful book-type auxiliary witch weapon?

Any individual's own abilities and the equipment they carried were part of their strength, and a hidden secret that could not be coveted or pried into by outsiders. Therefore, despite his suspicions, the Witch Demon Kangonas was unable to probe further in detail and could only rise up to greet him with seeming carelessness.

"You've finally made it here!"

This young human sorcerer was naturally Grim who had traveled ten million miles to come here after receiving the message . Among the many existences present, he also only 'knew' this Witch Demon Kangenas, so he nodded and smiled, "My location is slightly far from here, and the journey took a bit more time.... "

"It's good to be here, it's good to be here... Time, hehe, what's it to us 'people'!"

As he spoke politely, the Witch Demon Kangenas motionlessly sensed the overflowing energy scent from Grim's body.

My goodness, it's only been less than a hundred years, and this guy who wasn't overly concerned in the first place has already jumped to 4th rank intermediate!

Such a terrifying speed of advancement, even with Witch Demon Kangonas' experience and insight, he couldn't help but feel somewhat horrified.

Seeing that the always arrogant and cold witch demon was also showing such 'enthusiasm', the three first comers couldn't help but look at me and me at you, all of them betting on this human wizard who had just arrived.

"Hey, late comer, I'm the Sand King, what's your name again?" The Fae Scorpion Sand King, whose temperament was always fiery and stubborn, couldn't help but be the first to speak up.

The Sand King was just the title of this different scorpion, and no one obviously cared about its real name.

After all, everyone was just invited to complete a mission, and they couldn't trust each other yet, much less reveal all of their privacy.
