Age of Adepts

Chapter 1355 - Out-of-Boundary Tavern

The vast starry rivers were passing away fast before their eyes, and the bright stars were connecting into a dismal band of light in the distance.

As far as the eye could see, there was a colorful world everywhere within the field of vision.

The shimmering stars of raw light one by one seemed to be close at hand, as if they were peeking down and stretching out to reach it in their hands.

Yet it was all an illusion.

Even that nearest star was billions of miles away. Without the ability to travel through space, one would not be able to get half a step closer to them without a century or two of personal flight alone.

The sea of stars was infinite, and the void was not empty!

The depths of the void are filled with undulating energy tides and void storms.

If one wanted to survive in such a terrifying and cruel environment, one simply could not do so without an extremely strong body and a far superior magic resistance.

However, at this moment, a human form with a violet glow actually emerged from the depths of the Star River and flew all the way over against the Void Hurricane, which was equivalent to the power of 2nd rank sorcery.

The place he wanted to go was a huge mountain range floating in the endless void.

The entire mountain range stretched for nearly a thousand miles, its surface was pitch-black and hard, and it was filled with stars and tiny metal particles. It was precisely because of the presence of a large amount of metal that this mountain range was able to withstand the endless Void Hurricane and linger in the depths of the Star Ocean.

Obviously, it was drifted into the Star Sea World after the shattering of a certain bit continent. Thus the material was hard and rich in metal, which was why it barely survived. It was just that under the constant erosion of the endless Void Hurricane, the edges of the mountain range were still continuing to disintegrate and peel away.

The debris and steel rocks that were detached from the mountain range would be hurled into the depths of the boundless starry sea in a split second under a shower of energy sparks.

At a rate visible to the naked eye, the mountain range was still shrinking and disintegrating.

Perhaps in another hundred years, the Thousand Mile Mountain Range, which had been washed away from the original huge bit continent with only the remnants of what was before it, would also disappear without a trace, to be completely swallowed and digested by the Star Ocean World.

In the Star Ocean World, as long as you are diligent enough, you will always find countless strange items that have been stripped from the Facet World. And those that could survive the energy tides without being damaged, there would be no true 'trash'!

There would always be some smart people in the world who knew best how to make use of the residual value of these Star Ocean 'trash'.

Since this mountain range still had a hundred years to dissipate, a small tavern that existed as a transit station appeared in a depression in the middle of the mountain range.

And that purple halo figure was clearly heading straight for this tavern.

The purple light flashed through a transverse temporal turbulence, avoided a few broken rocks that were peeled off from the mountain, and hardened against the whistling wind, and slowly landed inside the depression.

What appeared in front of him was a strange building dug into the belly of the mountain, and the gate was especially towering and huge, even able to accommodate a giant whale to enter and exit here. The gate of the building seemed to be made of wood, and on it could be seen a fine and intricate wood grain.

Only on the surface of the wooden door, there was a strangely shaped magic rune engraved.

The magical rune flickered on and off, regularly overflowing with strange force field fluctuations, and also supporting a thin energy film. It was this thin energy film comparable to a piece of vellum that blocked the endless invasion of the Void Hurricane, which was what kept the two wooden doors together for a long time.

And on top of the wooden sign above the wooden doors, a bubbling wine cup pattern was engraved.

The purple light landed in front of the tavern and stepped through the thin film of energy light, pushing open the two single-valve wooden doors with one hand and stepping in.

Inside and outside the doors were simply two completely different worlds!

Outside the door was a harsh and harsh barren world, while inside the door was a boisterous and bustling world of noise.

But those two seemingly simple double rows of wooden doors clearly had the powerful effect of dividing space and isolating energy breath, which was why the tavern was cleverly and mysteriously hidden here.

Inside the door was a huge circular space, with several thick stone pillars leading to the dome, supporting this world. Beneath the dome, behind a row of wooden counters stood a few humans, and judging by their clothing and attire, they seemed to be the bartenders and waiters of this tavern.

Sparsely, there were a dozen or so stone tables in the hall, each surrounded by some odd-looking guys eating and drinking freely.

Not many humans could be seen in these guys, all with strange skin color, strange shapes, strange clothes and strange speech... In the corner of the hall, there were a few exceptionally large, dissident creatures sitting there.

From their size, it was obvious that the reason the tavern doors were built so tall was for them.

The food placed on the stone table in front of them was also different, including fresh blood food, green vegetation comb, and even more baffling and bizarre food....

Although these guys came from different planes and possessed strange races and skin colors, they all exuded an air of strength and terror without exception.

Those who could cross the starry sea to appear here were at least 4th stage, and 5th and 6th stage creatures weren't rare either.

As long as they were willing to abide by the tavern's rules, this place was open to everyone.

And one of the main reasons that could make so many strong foreigners honestly abide by the rules of human sorcerers was that the owner behind this tavern was a great sorcerer of rank 7.

This one reason was sufficient enough!

After the purple light entered the tavern, the energy protection on the surface of her body withdrew, revealing the figure of a young witch.

Bald, eyebrowless, with purple pupils, wearing a purple soft armor, her figure and appearance were quite reasonable, but the look on her face seemed a little too cold.

As soon as she entered, she walked straight up to the counter, casually threw out two star diamonds, and muffled, "One portion of magic fish meat, and prepare a room for me..."

The bartender standing behind the counter is fat like a pig, and his speech and mannerisms are extremely supporting his own identity. Only his large, fat and greasy hand covered the top of the counter, and with a wipe of his hand, two star diamonds flew away with it.

"Quickly serve Lord Gloria the magic fish meat and prepare a good guest room... Annie, go clean it yourself, don't let the bits and pieces of the last guest leave out and disturb Lord Gloria.... "The tavern immediately resounded with the thick voice of the bartender, Thom.

That Succubus Annie who existed as a tavern waitress hurriedly swayed her thin, soft waist and got inside a passage at the back.

Breaking into the Sea of Stars was no easy task!

The ubiquitous energy tides and void storms were constantly depleting the strength and mind of the strong, and not many races were able to recover their strength from the storm invasion. Therefore, this tavern was not so much a place to meet and drink, but rather a place with complete protection that allowed the strong men to rest and recover their strength.

Soon, a huge plate of Demon Fish meat was served up.

Compared to the inside of the Bit World, the portion of this magic fish meat was undoubtedly too large.

This devil fish was already larger than the Gloria Witch in just wheel size, and its appearance was extremely ugly and hideous, covered with dense bone spines and grayish-white armor. If you tapped it with a dinner knife, it could blossom into a dazzling spark.

This also showed how hard and terrifying it was!

After placing it on the stone table, it was still wriggling furiously, firing sharp water arrows at all the surrounding living things.

The water arrows were airborne and bared, and its magic strength was even at level 2.

The Gloria Witch raised her finger and flicked it, and a purple mane shot out and went straight through the demon fish's skull, from which flowed dark green strange brain juice. And she immediately lay down over there, slurping and sucking on it.

The Devilfish was a hybrid between a star beast and a creature from the surface, and its body, whether it was brain juice or blood, was rich in magical energy, making it a good food for the strong to replenish their losses.

Although its appearance does not suit the aesthetics of human sorcerers, and its flesh and blood is too fishy, it is hard to find resources in this Star Beast. However, in the depths of the Star Ocean, where resources are hard to find, there are not many high-energy foods with such high energy reserves at such a low price.

Gloria's status as a 4th rank witch might be considered top-notch in the Witch World, but in this mixed-up Star Ocean, a 4th rank witch would only be barely surviving.

So, there was nothing for her to be picky about!

As she watched the Gloria Witch gobble up the flesh and blood of the magic fish, that bartender Thom leaned in beside her and whispered in a mysterious manner, "Lord Gloria, there's news from headquarters..."

The Gloria witch was still trying to eat and drink without any regard for her image, and after a busy day, she took a sideways glance at the nasty-looking Thom and frowned, "Don't they know that I'm tracking that aurora beast? It took seventeen years to easily find its trail, why are they looking for me at this point?"

Thom squeezed his eyebrows and snickered, "I heard that those idiots at headquarters seem to have taken a big loss, even the black-robed Cerworis were so badly injured that they hid back in their lair and didn't dare come out to see anyone. Therefore, Domnall is eager to summon you back!"

"Severus was wounded...by who? Who is it? Is there anyone inside the Wizarding World who dares to openly oppose the Association?"

"The news that came over was very vague, only saying that it was an elemental wizard that suddenly appeared in the middle of the continent. I heard it was quite powerful, and had even gone to the association's headquarters to defeat Olivia... and was preparing to unify the central part of the country during this time, and was fighting there!"

"Hmm, that group of softies in the middle, they can have strong people in them too?" Gloria scornfully said, "Let them fight first, and when they've beaten the dog's brains out, my side of the mission will be almost done. It won't be too late to go back then..."

Thom couldn't help but grimace, "But that's not the order that came from headquarters. Domnall is pressing very hard, telling you to return to headquarters as soon as you receive the news. From what he said, if you go back late, the middle of the continent will be completely cold..."

The mission was so easy to get somewhere, but suddenly receiving such an order, Gloria Witch's face immediately darkened.

"Why didn't you go to look for Anri, but ran to me instead?"

"Lord Anri has entered an ancient ruin, and it's estimated that he won't get out for a decade or two, so..."

Gloria Witch's face became increasingly ugly.

"Hmph, then the loss of this aurora beast will hang on Domnall's head, see how I'll go back and take care of this group of fools who can't even defend their homes..."

With that, the Gloria witch stood up and hatefully walked towards the teleportation array at the back of the tavern.
