Age of Adepts

Chapter 1423 - Scary Battlefield

The sky was black and red.

The earth was covered with a terrifying black and red turbid current, and the roaring roars of the witch beasts and alienated beasts fighting each other could be heard everywhere.

Each of the War Witch Towers held up a force field protection and magic barrier, the entire tower was dazzling with light and magic power, just like a tall Christmas tree. The former was used to block the alien beasts from approaching, while the latter was used to resist long-range spells.

Whenever there was a tide of different beasts approaching, the cavern at the bottom of the War Witch Tower would suddenly open up, from which an astonishing number of terrifying witch beasts would emerge.

The Alienation Beasts were completely a group of terrifying monsters whose bodies and minds were polluted and distorted by the scent of calamity. They had eagle-like wings, snake-like heads, and lion-like sturdy bodies. Their limbs were strong and powerful, and their hands and feet had curved and sharp finger blades at the end of their claws, so sharp that they could even shred a finger-thick plate of armor.

It was impossible for an ordinary human warrior to be a match for them!

The Witch Beasts, on the other hand, were ferocious beasts transformed by witches through the synthesis of their bloodline, and they were all over five meters in size, with the external traces of a variety of ferocious birds and beasts on the surface of their bodies.

No matter their size and strength, witch beasts were far superior to dissimilar beasts, and their bodies were protected by special scale armor. Therefore, when fighting, it was extremely fierce, often just one Witch Beast could dash left and right in the tidal wave of beasts, like a fearless giant tank.

The aberrant beasts, on the other hand, clearly had the numerical advantage!

Relying on their ability to fly and run, they danced and raced across the battlefield one by one. Often when a Witch Beast appeared, dozens or even hundreds of different beasts would swarm around it and kill it. Some of the beasts even jumped on the opponent's body, using their fangs or claws to nail them, biting and pulling them to death.

Most of the fierce and fierce witch beasts could only clash within less than a hundred meters of the group of alienated beasts, with a large number of enemies pinned to the surface of their bodies. It bit the other side desperately, and often after killing more than a dozen different beasts, the witch beast would fall down due to its injuries, becoming food for the other side to gobble up.

Many different beasts even bit and roared at each other as they fought for the flesh and blood of the beasts.

And every time at this time, the nearby War Witch Tower would gather a huge amount of magical energy, which would turn into a terrifying sorcery and throw it at the most densely packed area of the alienated beasts.

Raging Thunder! A meteor shower of fire! Earth Spear Thrust! The acid swamp! Blizzard! ........

Elemental sorceries of various shapes and colors swept across the battlefield, and where the elemental light erupted, flesh and blood flew everywhere, and corpses littered the ground, no beasts could withstand the sorcery attacks of the War Tower.

The Association Shaman hid inside the War Witch Tower, relying on the tower's sturdy defense and the protection of the large number of Witch Beasts outside the tower, which allowed them to safely attack every group of alienated beasts that entered the attack range.

But the ants were killing the elephants!

Even the War Witch Tower would not be able to do anything absolutely safe if the alienated beast herd gathered in greater numbers, coupled with a raid by the Calamity creatures hidden within.

Grim could see from as far as the eye could see the ruins of a War Witch Tower near the Earth Rift Canyon that only had a small half of its base left. They were like burned out candles, with countless holes in the tower walls, and the inside was in a mess, where blood and broken bones could be seen everywhere.

Just from the number of losses of the War Witch Tower, one could also estimate the approximate losses of the Sorcerer's Association.

In any case, it was an unacceptably terrifyingly huge number!

If it was just a different beast, it was impossible for the powerful foundation of the Sorcerer's Association to be pushed to such a state.

In the core area of the battlefield where the War Witch Towers were standing, hundreds or thousands of powerful creatures with different forms and strange lights lingering on their bodies were entrenched there, and from time to time, they would form a small team to attack the War Witch Towers that were trapped in a heavy siege.

Most of them were terrifying calamity creatures of the 3rd or 4th rank, and although they didn't have the widespread terrifying natural calamity aura of the Calamity Lords, they were able to channel their calamity power to enhance their offensive or defensive power.

Thus, once they attacked, the War Witch Tower that they aimed at became a terrifying war victim. No matter how sturdy the Witch Tower's force field protection was, no matter how violent an attacking sorcery was, no matter how protected by a group of Witch Beasts, it still couldn't stop the Terrifying Calamity creatures from attacking.

A cloud of greenish acid-rot venom spewed onto the War Witch Tower force field protection, and it took less than half a minute to erode it into a sheet of paper. Then the hordes of Calamity creatures crashed into the tower's perimeter, rattling it with their mighty bodies and then using their sharp fingers and claws to cut a hole in the wall large enough for them to pass through.

As soon as the hole was broken, the creatures of calamity burrowed straight into it.

A moment later, the wretched screams of dying wizards were heard from inside the War Witch Tower, accompanied by a rumbling roar of sorcery.

However, against the fearsome exotic creatures with thick skin, high magical resistance, and terrifying disaster abilities, it was impossible for the frail human sorcerers to be a match for them.

As a result, one by one, the war witch towers fell, and the shamans inside either died or fled, with losses that were hard to count!

The opposing side's numbers were so astonishing that it made every Central Wizard who witnessed it dizzy and pale.

At Grim's level, he actually didn't care about these low-level demons, alienated beasts, and calamity creatures anymore. What he was silently examining with narrowed eyes, however, were a few particularly strong and piercing small Calamity Lords within that group of Calamity Creatures.

In essence, they were not yet worthy of the title of Calamity Lords, but at most were just the underlings or thugs of one of the true Calamity Lords.

Their appearance had no fixed physical form or physical features, and the only thing that distinguished them from the creatures on the surface was the strikingly chaotic scent.

This breath was so incompatible with the laws of the bitemporal plane that a lingering purple-black mist lingered on the body of each Calamity creature. This wasn't actually fog, but rather an anomaly of laws left behind after two opposing rule breaths collided with each other.

The closer it was to the Earth Rift Canyon, the more obvious the Calamity Breath was, and the more severely the Sorcerer World's Bit Law was broken there. With the retreat of the Sorcerer World's bit laws, the bit suppression of this world against the calamity creatures was getting weaker and weaker.

The magic tide would last for a hundred years.

Once the Calamity creatures adapted to the laws of the surface here and broke out of the Mo Fu Valley, they would only be able to bring the native creatures of the Sorcerer World endless slaughter and terrible disasters!

From this point of view, it was actually only a matter of time before all parties would reinforce the Sorcerer's Association.

After all, everyone was in the same boat, and if the calamity creatures were to break in and set up roots here, I'm afraid that everyone would then be in trouble, very much so....

But it was good that the only ones stalking the Witch World this time were some obscure Calamity Lords, and not the monarch-level existences inside the Calamity World. Otherwise, the Sorcerer's Association would have been impatient to ask for help from outside the domain, pleading with those great sorcerers to send some billet or men back to calm the situation.

It was said that the one stalking the Wizard World this time was a 6th Order Calamity Lord named Dilmas. It was a three-headed magical dog that was a hundred meters tall, each of which could drive a special magical element and possessed immense strength.

And the last time Grim had run into that calamitous little lord Evil Hoof within the Austrian Empire, it was actually a 4th stage alienated billet of Dilmas.

And this time, the other party even took advantage of the stall when the Wizarding World was experiencing a demonic tide attack to try to run to find some advantage. Such a move was certainly something that should be forcefully countered back.

At the very least, the Calamity creatures must not be given the chance to corrupt and transform the Murky Abyss Valley and turn it into a bridgehead for the Calamity Bit to invade the Sorcerer's World. Otherwise, once the true Calamity Lords broke into the Sorcerer's World, they would have to pay a heavy price far more than a thousand times that of the present if they wanted to expel them again.

It had to be known that the fall of most bit worlds wasn't due to natural disasters that caused them to be this way, but rather it was usually due to the invasion of Calamity, Abyss or other evil races that turned it into a deadly land. At most, the invasions of sorcerers would just capture some resources and population, and would rarely devastate the bitworlds.

However, only evil races like Calamity, Abyss and Star Beast would indiscriminately destroy the bitworld's original foundation regardless, or contaminate and alienate the entire world's bit origin, transforming and twisting all bitworld creatures into bowed down alienated beasts.

Thus, when a calamitous creature or star beast appears within a bitworld, it is often the moment when that world comes to the end of its rope!

However, it was still very difficult for a 6th stage creature like Dilmas to break into the Sorcerer's World. The massive chaotic energy and chaotic atmosphere within its body would trigger the strongest reaction of the Sorcerer World's Bit Law.

Therefore, before it actually invaded, it sent out a large number of its men to drive away the constant stream of alienated beasts to contaminate the bit-rules near the distorted spatial rift a little bit. This was also one of their most common and insidious tactics!

If the invaded bitworld doesn't have a strong enough means to repel the alien beast attack and force back its men. When the spatial barriers were eroded out of holes of sufficient size, that was the moment when the 6th Order Calamity Lords would actually make their entrance.

With a rank 4 against a rank 6, even if the witches held a local advantage, they would crumble in front of its terrifying power, thus becoming the target of its wanton slaughter and devouring.

At that point, even a superpower like Krsuna would no longer be safe. A powerful sorcerer like Grim, who possessed the power of rules but had yet to reach Level 5, was even more of an indispensable delicacy in its eyes.

Thus, helping the Sorcerer's Association was actually helping themselves.

At this point, the witches' always calm and wise brains would allow them to make the right and wise choice!
