Age of Adepts

1509 Chapter 1509 Strength Adjustment

By the time Grim returned to the Giant Rock Castle once more, he was no longer a nobody!

It seemed that the results of the last war had returned, and he and that Antuso had teamed up to snipe out a moderately powerful deity billet, and the news had spread covertly and inexplicably through some unknown means.

For a while, there was an endless stream of great sorcerers visiting and soliciting him, forcing Grim to use healing as an excuse to shut down, which was the only way to block their 'enthusiasm'.

Originally Grim was confused by this, but only after a little probing did he understand the reason!

The wizards and the orc deities have faced off against each other for so long, and both sides are familiar with each other .

If you attack my Resource Plane, I'll send someone to defend it; I'll additionally send someone to attack your Faith Plane, forcing you to defend it as well....

The two sides fought against each other like this, in a huge star field.

Under normal circumstances, the amount of force that the two sides put into a particular area was often similar. In many cases, the outcome of a battle is determined by the individual strengths and coordination of the two participants.

Generally speaking, witches are more flexible and free, with all sorts of sorcery and intrigue on their side. More importantly, the witches were all on their own, and were able to use their equipment and sorcery to their fullest potential.

Although the probability of the orc deity's side of the body going into battle was also high, in order to make up for the lack of battle numbers, many deity bilocations could still be seen on the battlefield.

Don't look at many of them as just deity bilocations, but their basic battle strength was not weak at all!

In addition to the divine domain they controlled, these deity bilocations also possessed universal divine arts that all gods could perform: divine shields, divine shockwaves, energy blasts....

The Divine Shield was also known as the 'Little Invincible' by sorcerers, and during its existence, almost all magical and physical attacks were ineffective against the deity itself. They could only rely on saturation attacks to exhaust the divine power on top of the shield before they could continue to damage the deity itself.

Having this life preserver also gave the deity billet an advantage in the battle against the Great Wizard Gate.

If the situation was bad and they pulled their legs out against the divine shield and ran away, the Sorcerer's side was definitely a dog biting a turtle, and there was nowhere to talk in a dry hurry. If the deities had the advantage in the battle, they would be able to use their shields to withstand the attack of a group of witches and turn their victory into a real victory.

It was the overly obvious advantage of the deities that also made the war protracted, with most of the battlefield's winning high-end power only acting as a shade, and the real focus instead becoming a battle for a single bit and attack and defense.

On the Sorcerer's side, the more resource planes were destroyed, the weaker the camp would naturally become; on the Beastmaster's side, the faith planes were destroyed one by one, and the Beastmaster's followers were massacred, so the power of faith they could obtain was greatly reduced....

The orc deity side was able to resist the siege of hundreds of great sorcerers on the witch side with less than 20 deities, relying on their strong individual strength and arm-like deity billet.

It was because of this reason that very often, the witches could only rely on their numerical superiority to offset the strength of the orc deities. Under such circumstances, being able to successfully trap and slay the deity billet on the battlefield was almost impossible to do.

If Grim didn't have the strange devouring talent of the Devouring Demon Fish, I'm afraid that it would be easy to defeat the Hall billet, but it would be much more difficult to leave it behind completely.

It could be politely said that the number of deity bilocations that could successfully slay on the battlefield was never more than double digits after the witch camp and the orcish deity system had been at war for so long. Even in the worst case scenario, those deity bilocations that could not escape would choose to self-destruct their divine bodies and then cover the divine grid fragments to escape back, never leaving the enemy a chance to kill them all.

So, Grim would succeed greatly by relying on nothing else, but the all-important Terror Stomach Capsule!

The great sorcerers who had heard the news were apparently also targeting Grim's Demon Fish talent, and were ready to team up with him to hunt down the lone deity billet on the bitter battlefield.

It was just that Grim knew what he was doing, and such a raid opportunity would work best the first time. Once the orc's side was put on guard, it would be a thousand times harder to achieve such an effect again.

But no matter what, Grim's name had spread, and he was a little known fellow among the 5th ranked Grand Sorcerers in the entire Giant Rock Castle.

............

Half a year later.

Within the sorcery chamber, a ten meter tall flame giant sat silently on the floor.

Suspended in front of him was a strange bead burning with golden flames, from which a thin stream of crimson flames pierced straight into his forehead.

Two very different forces were being carried in parallel on the fire chain....

Emerging from the Fire God Pearl was an extremely tame golden power, and they were imbued with a divine atmosphere that burned the heavens and extinguished the earth, yet purified everything. Looking at the nature and form, they were inextricably similar to the Flame God's power.

What gushed out from Grim's body was a violent, colorless and transparent flame, which was tyrannical and insane, filled with destruction, and it was precisely the two strange flame rules that he had mastered.

These two forces were blending and reconciling on the fire chain, often times they would collide and annihilate each other due to their different nature. A fine crack swirled around the fire chain, and the energy aftermath due to the collision was absorbed by the bit surface void, which did not cause irreversible structural damage to this space.

However, with more collisions and annihilations, there would always be a trace of the mutated flame energy left over. These residual flame energies also bizarrely combined the two power characteristics of flame rules and flame divine power, appearing so different.

Grim continuously held a spell to cast a spell, guiding these mutated flames into the right eye and successfully casting a spell to seal it inside.

As the mutant flames gathered more and more, Grim's right eye also became brighter and more piercing. When you looked at it, it looked like a small sun had been inserted into Grim's right eye, its golden light burning brightly and its heat compelling.

5,000 degrees... 10,000 degrees... 20,000 degrees... 30,000 degrees....

It wasn't until the energy level reached 32,000 degrees that Grim sensed the chip's alert, which slowly stopped the holding spell and intercepted the intake of the mutant flame.

"Drip, Berserk Pupil has been made... Energy level 32,000 degrees... One-time release is estimated to be able to inflict severe damage to 5th rank primary objects, moderate damage to 5th rank intermediate objects, 5th rank advanced mild threat..."

"The rapid release of the Berserk Pupil Storage's mutated flame will cause damage to the carrier, and it will take 15 days of reconditioning after each release to make it again..."

"Berserk Pupils will be in a flame sealed state at all times of the day, unable to see properly..."

Having gotten a hint from the chip, Grim was able to put his mind at ease.

With the completion of the final flame seal, the abnormality in Grim's right eye gradually dissipated, and only a tiny, unidentifiable flame rune was slowly rotating on the black pupil.

Sacrificing a right eye to gain a high-powered flame attack that could be instantly released in battle, no matter which way one looked at it, Grim felt that it was worth it. After all, on the battlefield, those orc deity bilocations all possessed frighteningly terrifying battle power.

Without a great weapon capable of calming down the scene, fighting them would simply be a torture!

Grim's flame sorcery was good, but on the battlefield he lacked a battle partner that was taciturn and trustworthy enough. Therefore, once he got into a bitter battle, at every turn, Grim would be chased by those orc deities and killed everywhere.

To put it nicely, it was Grim jumping all over the place to fly their kites; to put it bluntly, it was simply Grim being chased and slashed by them with difficulty to gain a foothold, so he could only flee desperately.

Although there was a 5th stage Remy as a helper, but this guy obviously belonged to the venom system, when the meat shield is also obviously not suitable. Therefore, until the production of that 5th stage intermediate level witch beast was complete, Grim had to find a way to solve these battlefield problems on his own.

Continuing to study that rule fusion teleportation method was certainly one way, and preparing more suitable cards was also another way.

After half a year of preparation, Grim, having temporarily abandoned several other flame sorceries, concentrated the chip's data computing power and finally estimated the completion of 'Flame Refraction'.

In this way, in addition to the two artifacts that came with the skills of Flame Rage and Ring of Decay, Grim also had a truly unique 5th level flame sorcery of his own from then on, still of the offensive type.

If the one-time Berserk Pupil was added, this also meant that Grim who stepped onto the battlefield had 4 decisive cards in his hand at the same time!

Besides being the strongest auxiliary tool, the upgraded Fire God Pearl had another strange use that was unknown to the public, and that was to take in the power of faith.

Originally, taking in the power of faith was a magical power that only the gods possessed. But now, the Fire God Pearl that had fused a fragment of the Flame God Grid also somehow possessed a similar strange power. Only, the power of faith it could receive had to come from those intelligent individuals who believed in Grim faithfully.

It was through the Fire God Bead that Grim was surprised to discover that he had a few sparse numbers of devout believers and thousands of pan-devotees on several planes.

They might not be devoutly worshipping and blindly following Grim as a deity, but merely seeing him as a benchmark to be revered and admired. The two attitudes may have subtle differences and distinctions, but the spiritual power they unite is not fundamentally different.

What was even more surprising to Grim was that shortly after the Fire God Pearl had successfully ascended, he had actually perceived a true believer who believed in himself in the world of sorcerers.

That was what was most unbelievable to him!
