Amber Sword

Chapter 1468 - 11: Crystalization Disease

Brand broke through the door with a single sword strike, the solid oak door disintegrating into wood chips like butterflies fluttering in all directions. His black count’s coat bloomed like a rose amidst the shattered boards, its petals unfurling forward, with a chilling sword blade protruding from the center, pointing directly at the noble youth on the bed with a hand pressed against the Countess’s neck.

Acker never dreamed that someone would suddenly break in; his face was full of astonishment, and in a fit of angry shock, he roared, "Damn it, Anurek, where are you!"

The next moment, a black shadow shot straight towards him in his field of vision, but Brand had already guessed there might be others in the room upon hearing the young man’s anger. His sword instinctively pulled back. ’Ding’—a tooth-grinding sound rang out as Brand felt the Earth Sword catch onto something. Squinting slightly, he saw it was a transparent longsword, shimmering with a cold light like ice crystal.

"Get lost!"

With an angry roar, the Crystal Sword pressed against the blade of the Earth Sword with a ’scree-scree’ sound, trying to slash at Brand’s wrist. But with a forward push of the Earth Sword, a tremendous force erupted like an avalanche and tsunami, instantly sending that ice-thin Crystal Blade flying.

Brand saw the Grey Shadow pull back and then saw the sword-wielding figure cloaked in a grey cape that reached the floor, under which, like a nightmare, was obscured in swirling black smoke, hiding its face.

The sprite roared, its muffled voice full of surprise and anger. It never dreamed that this young human before it possessed such terrifying power. It didn’t know that because Brand was equipped with the Ghost Knight Crystal, his innate strength was naturally a notch higher than others of the same boundary, let alone being a miracle at the age of the Golden Peak twenty.

And Brand was the architect of this miracle. He had no intention of giving the opponent any chance. The long black coat fluttered amidst the falling wood scraps, and another black flash slashed toward the creature.

"Dodge... Sword!"

The shadow shrieked, seemingly recognizing Brand’s swordsmanship. It had already been swept towards the headboard by Brand’s earlier strike, and now had to raise the Crystal Longsword to block. But as the swords clashed, only a heartbreaking shattering sound was heard, with countless lines spreading instantly across the crystal.

Brand remained silent, holding the Earth Sword and pressing forward. The next moment, the sword blade in the creature’s hand burst into countless fragments, exploding outwards.

The creature let out a miserable scream, probably realizing the insurmountable gap between itself and this young man. At the last moment, with the sword blade at body length, it raised its head, unleashing a Spirit Wave nearly visible to the naked eye, stabbing straight into Brand’s mind.

Spiritual Shock.

The speed of the Spirit Wave was incredibly fast, and the distance between them too close, giving Brand no time or space to dodge. The spiritual shock pierced straight into his mental world the moment Brand just reacted.

Unfortunately, this time the shadow clearly picked the wrong target.

After being enhanced by Divine Blood, Brand’s Will Attribute had reached an outrageous number, and with the implanted Lightning Core, his power was further elevated. His resultant Will Barrier could even ward off most spells, let alone any Spiritual Shock.

The shadow’s Spiritual Shock crashed into Brand’s Will Barrier as if colliding with a 1000mm thick steel plate. Brand sensed someone probing into his will domain and couldn’t help but sneer coldly. He watched as the Spirit Wave struck an invisible wall, shattering into pieces, and the backlash swept back tenfold.

Brand coldly glared at the opponent.

The shadow let out a piercing shriek, clutching its head wildly. But it was futile, and everyone present heard a crisp ’crack’ sound, with the creature’s head exploding like a glass ball.

Brand muttered a silent "damn" to himself, expecting to see a gory scene of brain matter splattering everywhere. Of course, he himself didn’t mind, but let’s not forget the ladies present; it wouldn’t do good for his reputation as the ’Head-Popping Maniac’ to spread throughout Ambeser.

But to his surprise, the creature’s head seemed like a crystal ball, shattering into crystal shards that scattered like blades, embedding into the entire room.
