Chapter 1469 - 11: Crystalization Disease_2

Brand hurriedly activated the Conflict Aura, and the crystal fragments clattered against the magic shield and flew in all directions, ultimately preventing him from ending up riddled with holes like a beehive.

On the other side, the young noble named Acker wasn’t as lucky. He was initially watching the fight in the room with astonishment, only for his men to suddenly launch a suicidal attack. When the countless crystal fragments exploded, he was almost entirely shielding Delphire.

So the outcome was predictable.

At the instant the crystal fragments burst, hundreds of needle-sharp fragments pierced into half of his body in the blink of an eye, slicing his handsome face into a mess. One fragment even exploded his eyeball, and his right eye flowed out from the socket like a piece of rotten flesh.

Acker, looking like a bloodied figure, seemed stunned for a moment before reacting—he immediately clutched his face and let out a ghastly howl on the bed, his voice as chilling as an animal being sent to the slaughterhouse.

Pressed down by him, Delphire somehow found the strength to push him away, struggling to jump off the bed. But she forgot she couldn’t walk and fell off the edge, crashing onto the floor. With a dull thud, the Countess cried out in pain as tears streamed down her face.

Brand felt a pang of heartache, quickly went over, and pulled her up, bringing her behind him. The Countess was pale and trembling, her chest completely exposed, and she was oblivious to it—she didn’t even have the strength to cling to Brand’s sleeve. Had Brand not supported her, she could collapse onto the floor at any moment.

"Are you okay?"

"Mr. Brand... I..." Delphire seemed as if she had experienced a nightmare; her cheek was still stained with tears, yet she couldn’t say a word.

"Don’t be afraid, I’m here," Brand reassured.

He looked at the bloodied figure still wailing on the bed—in fact, Acker had dyed the entire sheet red, some cloth strips stuck to his wounds, tearing new ones, causing more blood to flow out. Soon enough, he seemed too exhausted for screaming, shivering on the bed, afraid of aggravating any small wound.

The wailing gradually turned into painful sobbing.

Clearly, this guy wouldn’t survive. But Brand felt no sympathy at all, especially seeing Delphire like this now, which made him seethe with anger. If he could, he would give the guy more healing spells, just so he could enjoy the ’taste’ of his pain before dying.

At this point, Princess Griffine finally hurried upstairs. Seeing the scene inside the room, her expression changed, then looking at Delphire, she understood immediately what had happened. "Beast," the Princess coldly spat.

"Who is he?" Brand asked.

"I don’t want to mention his name; he’s worse than a beast. He’s Baron Darrel’s sole heir, not Delphire’s biological brother. You should know who he is now, right?"

Princess Griffine coldly stared at the bloodied figure sobbing on the bed, then turned to look softly at Delphire, comforting her, "Delphire, are you okay?"

The Countess was somewhat strong in front of Brand, but seeing her childhood friend, she finally couldn’t hold back and cried out loud. The Princess hurriedly held her, comforting gently, and gave Brand a look:

"How long are you planning to hold her?"

The meaning of that look.

Brand was slightly taken aback.

"Let me take her to change clothes quickly. You made such a commotion here—the Harbor Guard will arrive soon. Do you want Delphire to be seen like this by outsiders?" The Princess spoke softly.

Brand was suddenly enlightened, hurriedly supporting the crying Countess into the Princess’s arms. Then he glanced at the noble youth on the bed, who was almost too weak to howl anymore. Previously, he acted out of anger without considering much, but now he found the situation quite hard to handle. However, this guy brought it upon himself; otherwise, he would have kept him alive to find out what was really going on.

Now it’s a mess, killing a noble inexplicably without even knowing the purpose of his visit.
