He furrowed his brows deeply.

Moreover, there are many talented individuals among the nobles, and he had to admit this fact. Due to the disparity in education, the likelihood of talent rising among the nobles is significantly higher than among civilians. He certainly could find ways to grant civilians the right to receive education, but that’s not something that can be achieved overnight, and the kingdom cannot go a day without governance.

The Princess has already begun doing the same thing, but it’ll take at least a generation to see results. In the meantime, he indeed needs the nobles to help construct the future of Erune.

But the crux of the problem is that most nobles prioritize their own interests; people like Ecco and Count Oting are far too few.

"But we cannot let them off just because of that. Moreover, cultists have already infiltrated among these nobles, and even Flame Temple itself might not feel comfortable," Brand pondered for a moment, deciding to start with the simpler side.

"But they also have no reason to trust you," Master Turaman replied slowly, "Furthermore, you have to believe, people won’t keep making the same mistake over and over again. My old friend is also a shrewd person; otherwise, with his personality, do you think he’d blindly follow orders from the temple?"

Brand thought about it, and Wood seemed indeed not to be a blind believer, given the practical nature of the temple. He hesitated for a moment before asking, "Does he truly want to stay and help Erune? What methods does he have? And what is his purpose?"

"Oh, it seems you know my old friend quite well." Turaman raised his eyebrows in surprise: "Actually, the reason is simple; evidently, my old friend thinks highly of you; otherwise, he wouldn’t have invited me here."

"Wood Main Priest..." Brand interpreted an astonishing piece of information from Turaman’s implied message. Wood actually wanted to mend relations with him, and Brand suddenly realized that Wood must have noticed some flaws within Flame Temple during the disaster.

Could it be this guy wants to change the ways Flame Temple operates?

He shook his head to dispel that frightening thought: "Then, how does he plan to deal with the northern nobles?"

"I don’t know about that, but you’ll understand after you meet the person." Wood answered.

"Who?"

"You’ll understand when the time comes," The castle lord of Secret Silver Castle revealed a mysterious smile: "First, let’s talk about your physical condition, I’m quite curious how you managed to survive with such injuries at the time. Even the Silver People might not have such capability."

"Well..."

Brand was slightly stunned.

He suddenly recalled that day when he seemed to have confronted Titan directly. At that time, his life had dropped to below several thousand—of course, it was negative. To say that even if there were ten Priests attending to him after he fell unconscious, it would still be too late to restore his Life Value to a positive number.

Because at that moment, the duration of Unyielding Talent was at most only half a minute.

Yet now, he was alive and well, and his body didn’t seem to be experiencing any discomfort. Turaman asked him how he managed to survive; to be frank, it was a mystery even to himself.

He suddenly thought of a possibility.

"Thank you for saving me, Master Turaman."

Turaman, however, laughed heartily: "It wasn’t I who saved you; you should thank this young lady."

"Hmm?" Brand was taken aback, immediately hearing a dissatisfied hum. "Humph!" He turned his head and instantly locked eyes with those golden eyes.

The golden eyes carried a hint of discontent.

They were like crystal, crystalline in color, with bright flames burning inside, appearing captivating, yet exuding a confident aura. These clear, transparent eyes belonged to a young girl—her owner being quite short, and her long curly hair playfully hanging down against her shoulders.

She was still wearing the same leather armor as last time, though she had changed its color. The Sword couldn’t be seen, but she had a book in hand.

Brand saw that the name of the book was "A Culinary Selection of Erune" written in Dragon Language, fortunately, he could understand it.

If a common person saw all this, they’d surely think she was a lively young girl with a passion for culinary arts. But if one truly thought that, they’d be gravely mistaken.

Because this girl glaring ferociously at Brand was actually a dragon.

And she was a very angry, very displeased young Mother Dragon.

She seemed just about to breathe fire from her mouth.

(PS: Yesterday I organized the ideas and outline for the new volume, and wrote two Chapters today, but only published one. If I can write two Chapters tomorrow, I’ll publish them both, as it’s new plot, I need to leave some room. That’s it for now.) (To be continued.
