Chapter 1221 - 309: Wrath Unleashed VI_2
"Extreme Realm?" Moros’s face changed.
"Why am I here, Moros, you know best." Mephisto did not answer, instead, he said, "When my homeland was destroyed, I knew where you were."
Upon hearing this, the Chief Priest of the Ande Fulei Grand Temple knew that things could not end amicably today, "Mephisto, it’s still not too late to regret." He signaled to his subordinates with an eye movement.
The Templar receiving the order thrust a sword towards Mephisto, but the Gray Sword Saint seemed oblivious, allowing the opponent’s sword blade to pass through his body, "Little tricks won’t save you, Moros, today you’re doomed."
Everyone clearly saw this bizarre scene, in a gray world—just a moment ago it seemed they were in the hall of the Lockshbi Palace, but in the next moment, the whole world seemed to turn into a gray-white field. The Gray Sword Saint stood in the center of this field, the Templar’s sword pierced him like it pierced through paper, or rather, a phantom.
But Mephisto’s ’phantom’ continued speaking: "Aiden Lante, Wind Knight of the Holy Temple, such renown." With a wave of his hand, the giant sword on his back traced an unparalleled arc—a seemingly illusionary move but with a muffled sound like beating a leather drum, the Templar’s arm that held the sword flew high into the air.
Countless blood pearls sprayed out, the Templar screamed in agony, hurriedly using his remaining hand to shield his body. Sky blue Law Threads extended in the direction of his arm, weaving into a massive shield.
The wind, gentle yet sharp as steel, could not save his life. The lead-gray sword edge of Mephisto swept past under his arm, assimilating the sky blue Law Threads as they crumbled.
"If time does not flow, the wind ceases."
Mephisto’s sword stabbed into his heart, the blade sank in more than two-thirds deep, the tip even piercing through the Knight’s armor from the back. Aiden Lante, like a lobster skewered, struggled futilely, made a gurgling noise, then his head tilted, falling silent.
The Holy Temple’s mighty Elemental Rank Templar was slain on the spot without even lasting a move. Apart from Brand, almost everyone present swallowed hard.
"Now’s the time!" Moros, however, let out a low growl: "Holding the Holy Commandment, in the holy name of Defis, the flame king, let this Pure Fire cleanse all sins of the world."
He pointed forward, and the temperature inside the Lockshbi Palace abruptly rose, the hall’s floor seemed to crack open, and water evaporated into white steam in an instant; the ground roared and trembled, golden light burst from the fissures, the Ande Fulei Grand Temple’s marble pillars shattered, and from beneath the earth, a sea of lava and flames surged forth.
In the blink of an eye, the hall turned into a hellish scene.
"Flame of Repentance!"
Brand and the Gray Sword Saint Mephisto cursed inwardly almost simultaneously. Among those present, only they probably recognized the value of this, with one being well-versed across two lifetimes, and the other frequently battling the Cruz people and the Flame Temple, naturally recognizing at a glance the Holy Magic Moros cast was the Ten Ring Magic: Flame of Repentance.
With this spell unleashed, the Ande Fulei Grand Temple was essentially reduced to history’s dust. Brand cursed madly in his heart, but this was no time for cursing, he immediately pulled Nemesia and Princess Griffine back, seeing the ground in front cracking inch by inch, golden flames erupting from beneath, anything touched by the flames turned to ash in an instant.
His quick reaction was his saving grace; those noble envoys over there were not so lucky, most of them were immediately engulfed by the tongues of fire, screaming as they turned to ash.
Char, being a Mage, responded quickly, casting a Protection Magic to shield those around him. However, Protection Magic isn’t omnipotent, with the sea of flames steadily advancing, they were soon to be surrounded.
"Char!" Brand immediately shouted: "Blow this temple open for me!"
"Huh?" Char was stunned: "Lord, are you sure? This temple is a priceless treasure, constructed centuries ago, it’s the heartblood of master artisans of that era, it’s a masterpiece of Erune’s history!"
"Mr. Brand, you can’t do that!" Princess Griffine couldn’t help but scold in anger.
"Enough with the nonsense, blow it open for me!" Brand thought now was not the time for debate, especially since Moros seemed intent on tearing this place apart. If they didn’t act, they’d likely be torn apart themselves.
