Chapter 1605: Part 2: The Council’s Shock

"Is this real or fake?" a male elder asked all of a sudden.
"I’m having the same doubts," a female elder beside him said.
"It must be true. Don’t you trust our elders?" an old man from Star University asked.
Internally, he was shocked as well. He was from the Elemental Faction, and he knew about the rivalry between the Thunderflame and Elemental Factions.
Still, he could not stop supporting Zack Lockwood here. Zack Lockwood was from their Star University.
One by one, the elders raised the same question. They wanted to know what was going on with the report.
No one believed it except Elder Rowena.
"How could the elders fake the report? They must have seen it with their own eyes," Rowena said.
Hearing that, everyone turned toward her.
Though there was no infighting in the United City, everyone still came from different backgrounds.
They knew about Elder Rowena’s recent actions. She had sent one of her people to protect Zack Lockwood.
Everyone had turned a blind eye to it because they had done similar things in the past. No one could question her.
"Elder Rowena, do you think the information in the report is true?" a female elder from the Giant Tower University asked.
Suddenly, everyone’s gaze shifted toward Elder Rowena.
"I believe in the vision of Elder Jane. And I don’t think the elders responsible for the first secret land would fake the report," Rowena said.
Quiet!
Hearing that, silence filled the room.
There were not only elders from the mixed forces here; the elders from the six major universities were present as well.
Elder Rowena was from the Red Moon University. The female elder who had raised the question earlier was from the Giant Tower University.
An elder from the Star University had spoken up before that.
Similarly, elders from the Silver, Eclipse, and Dark Shadow Universities were present too.
They were skeptical, but they did not rush to make comments.
Instead, they looked toward the elder from the Dark Shadow University.
The old man was reading the report again. He didn’t believe the elders would lie either. He examined the fine details, and the information was thorough.
It mentioned how the young man used his purple lightning power to electrocute the foreign creatures. Most of them had died under a single attack from him.
The old man read everything, then closed the report. He looked toward the two elders watching him.
He smiled and said, "There is nothing wrong with the report. It was recorded in detail. All the information is verified."
"Elder, you too?" the elder from the Eclipse University asked.
"Why don’t we see the footage ourselves?" one of the elders from a medium-sized force suggested.
Hearing that, everyone immediately agreed. Instead of remaining confused and doubtful, it was better to watch the footage directly.
Elder Rowena agreed as well. She was curious about Zack Lockwood’s fight.
Soon, a message was sent back to the elders guarding the secret land. The elders of the first secret land had already expected this outcome.
It was simply unbelievable unless someone saw it with their own eyes; no one else would believe it.
The first secret land’s elders sent the recorded footage. The elders from the other nine secret lands sent their recorded footage as well.
In the council meeting, the elders waited. They needed to verify the news.
They knew that if the report turned out to be true, the warriors from the first secret land would spread the news anyway.
The footage soon reached their desks. Each elder had a screen before them, and the footage began playing across all screens simultaneously.
Elder Rowena raised her eyebrows, her expression turning serious. The other elders had a similar reaction.
They saw Zack Lockwood appear at the front. Then, they watched as he used his purple lightning power to kill the Black Flying Foreign Creatures.
As time passed, everyone’s expression turned into shock and utter disbelief. Yet, they knew the footage was real.
They watched the young Purple Mark Warrior slay the Red Mark Level Foreign Creatures one by one.
Then everyone saw how the flying foreign creatures ignored the other Red Mark Warriors and began to target Zack Lockwood specifically.
Still, Zack Lockwood continued fighting. He killed the foreign creatures in almost a single strike.
At this point, everyone changed their minds and believed it. The report had captured everything without missing a single detail.
They saw how the others had gathered together to support Zack Lockwood, but Zack Lockwood did not need their help at all.
He had wiped out the enemies all on his own, leaving behind only one or two for the others to handle.
They watched until the last creature was slain, and then saw the Red Mark Warriors celebrate. With that, the footage ended.
Quiet!
Silence fell over the room once more. The elders from the Star University sat in stunned silence. The elder who had supported Zack Lockwood was completely dumbfounded.
He had supported Zack Lockwood, but after watching the footage, he felt a twinge of regret. He felt he should have supported him even more firmly.
Not only him, but the other elders from the Star University were in shock as well.
Because they hadn’t supported Zack Lockwood during the earlier meeting, they now deeply regretted their hesitation.
Zack Lockwood was someone recommended by Elder Jane. They had initially thought Elder Jane was simply favoring someone from the Thunderflame Faction.
They had also heard that Dean Jerome looked after Zack Lockwood and invested resources in him.
Now they understood why. The resources were well worth it. Zack Lockwood had truly fought across tiers to wipe out the enemies.
The expressions on the faces of the elders from the other universities turned grim. In fact, they were afraid.
The elders from the Dark Shadow University made their decision. They had vastly underestimated the judgment of Elder Jane.
If something happened to Zack Lockwood, they could already imagine the dire consequences. Not even their powerhouses above the Red Mark Level would be able to protect them.
The elders of the Silver, Eclipse, and Giant Tower Universities came to the same conclusion. They were going to stop others from targeting Zack Lockwood.
The elders from the mixed forces were pleased. They did not have a bad relationship with Star University.
Elder Rowena smiled to herself. She was finally beginning to understand why her friend Freya had wanted to help Zack Lockwood in the first place.
