Boundary No. 5

It’s another period of quiet training. This time I’m using the broadsword to train. I rarely used weapons against the foreign creatures.

Because the power of the ancient inheritance forces is enough to kill the foreign creatures.

Even the elite humanoid was not able to withstand the power of purple lightning and shock force. But I was not complacent.

I know that an elite humanoid could be one of many elite foreign creatures. I didn’t know whether other elites are the same or stronger than the humanoids.

So I wanted to be prepared for everything. I’m having this feeling that the upcoming days won’t be peaceful. Things are not under my control.

I continued training with the broadsword.

Meanwhile,

Kaiden Farley and other Thunderflame Faction members are training as well. So far, they haven’t spoken a word to their fellow member Zack Lockwood.

Earlier, they looked down upon the new warrior who achieved Purple Mark Rank. But after the battles, their opinions changed.

Everyone witnessed the strength of Zack Lockwood during the battle. They can’t use the same gaze against Zack Lockwood anymore.

If a fight ever occurred, they might lose to him. So it’s better for them to mind their own business. None of the members talked about Zack Lockwood in front of Kaiden Farley.

Because Kaiden Farley is the eldest disciple of Main Elder Austin and Zack Lockwood is his junior brother.

So they didn’t want to make any comments. Who knows? Kaiden Farley could change his stance at any time.

On the other hand, the Bloodline Warrior Stella had already changed her opinion regarding Zack Lockwood.

She understood that it was due to Zack Lockwood’s contribution that they were able to close the space crack faster.

But she, too, is feeling uneasy. The foreign creatures are cunning. They had changed their tactics many times during the battle in the warrior camps.

If they were defeated, they didn’t use the same tactics again. The foreign creatures attacked with greater numbers.

Stella was expecting similar tactics here. Because the elite humanoids didn’t appear earlier. But they have appeared since Zack Lockwood joined here.

She doesn’t know why, but she thinks the next battle will be hard.

Dean’s Office

Dean Jerome was able to do damage control. The foreign creatures attacked other boundaries heavily. The casualties soared, but he sent reinforcements on time.

The Faction Leaders and the Main Elders on campus are shocked. The casualty rate was so high that they didn’t expect it in a single battle.

It didn’t take long for them to hear the news that Zack Lockwood was in Boundary No. 5. He is now a Purple Mark Warrior.

The news was confirmed by the injured warriors who returned from the Boundary. The battles in the boundary are tougher than in the warrior camps.

Because there is no teleportation platform there. The space barriers are weak there. Powerhouses above the Red Mark stage can cause rifts there.

There are mixed reactions. They really can’t blame Zack Lockwood here. He did his part as a warrior. He fought against the invading enemies and defeated them.

Because of him, Boundary No. 5 was saved. But that was not the case with the other Boundaries. The Elemental Faction Leaders are united. They suffered higher casualty numbers.

Because they have more warriors from their factions in both the warrior camps and the boundary, they requested to meet Dean Jerome.

Since everyone wanted to see him, Dean Jerome agreed to meet them.

Not long after, everyone gathered in the office room. The faction leaders looked toward Dean Jerome.

Jerome had already seen through their thoughts.

"I know why you guys are here. The casualties have been contained," he said to them.

Hearing that, the faction leaders of the elemental factions present were surprised.

The Flame Faction Leader Elmer said, "Dean, we know that Zack Lockwood is staying in Boundary No. 5."

"We heard that he did well. He is now a Purple Mark Warrior. He killed many foreign creatures, including the elite humanoids," he added.

Jerome asked, "What do you want to say?"

"Dean, the foreign creatures are attacking other boundaries as revenge. You have sent reinforcements this time, but they will continue to do so," Elmer said.

"Do you have any suggestions?" Jerome asked.

Compared to other faction leaders, Jerome respects him more.

"Dean, I want Boundary No. 5 to have fewer warriors. Have the rest of them go to the remaining boundaries."

"The foreign creatures will increase their numbers next time as well. So we need enough warriors," Elmer replied.

Hearing that, not only Dean Jerome, but the other faction leaders were taken aback as well. It’s because he had been neutral from the beginning.

Yet he changed his stance today. Then they understood that the casualties among the Flame Faction warriors were high as well.

For the first time, he is speaking for his faction instead of the whole campus.

Jerome’s eyes flashed with surprise as well. He pondered. He knew he couldn’t favor Zack Lockwood over the others.

But it was the order of the higher-ups. They wanted him to invest in Zack Lockwood. That’s why he was doing it. He couldn’t share the news with others.

He then decided to agree with them. So far, he was able to understand that Zack Lockwood can still fight across ranks.

Though no half-step Red Mark Warrior appeared against Zack Lockwood, he knows there are elite creatures among the foreign creatures’ side as well.

So far, only the horned humanoid has made its debut. He decided to agree with them for now. If the situation doesn’t change, he will think of another plan.

He then communicated his decision to the faction leaders. The faction leaders were taken aback. They didn’t expect Dean Jerome to agree so quickly.

They were prepared for a long discussion, but it ended in their favor. Then they left the office.

Jerome didn’t waste time either. He knows that the next crack could appear at any time. So he informed the people in Boundary No. 5.

Those who were willing to shift to other Boundaries could do so. The Purple Mark Guard will help them.
