Chapter 1573: Part 2: Campus Reunion
Star University
The following day,
I woke up late from sleep. I opened my eyes and saw the familiar ceiling. I realized that I was back home. Then, I rolled over to the edge and got out of bed.
Next, I was greeted with the same dust and spiderwebs. First, I started doing my morning routine. The routine lasted for an hour. Then, I began to clean up my room.
It took me another hour or so. Only then did I feel relieved. I thought it wouldn’t be long before Dean Jerome sent me somewhere else. I wasn’t sure about the place, but I thought he had brought me back to the campus for some reason.
Then, I went to the bathroom to take a shower.
20 minutes later,
I walked out of the bathroom. I began to get ready. I was going to see both masters; they wouldn’t be expecting my return. I didn’t know whether it was okay to tell them about the Horned Humanoid, Dead Fang, and the Thorn Reaper.
Dean Jerome hadn’t put forth any conditions. I thought it was best not to tell them anything. Otherwise, they would be shocked to the core.
After getting ready, I left my residence. I exited the gate and started heading towards the Golden Lightning Palace first. On the way, I saw many members going for a morning walk.
I walked past them, and none of them recognized me. Then, I heard their conversations. Many General Rank and Commander Rank Warrior seeds were recruited in advance from the inner post this time.
The news was shocking to them. But when I heard the news, my eyes filled with seriousness. So far, I had only been thinking about myself, but I didn’t know what had happened to the others.
The other warrior camps and the boundary might have faced a severe threat.
I shook my head and continued walking along the footpath. Soon, I reached the Golden Lightning Palace. I saw that the main gate was open. I walked inside the building and swept my gaze across.
My senses immediately picked up the presence of warriors coming towards my side. They were Black and Silver Mark Warriors. I spread my mental power and observed further.
My mental power extended up to the training area. I saw many new faces training there. But the warriors who felt the mental power passing over them were truly terrified.
They thought Elder Austin was watching over them. They stopped talking and started practicing obediently.
Seeing that, my mouth curved into an arc. I used to have a similar feeling back in the day. Whenever I exited the essence chamber, I felt a huge mental power scanning me.
Next, I turned around and headed towards Master Austin’s residence. But I had only taken a few steps when a few figures appeared before me in a flash.
A hint of surprise appeared in my eyes.
Master Austin, Second Senior Sister Leah Downing, Fourth Senior Sister Lola Garvin, and Main Elder Rosie’s disciple, Clara, were here.
I didn’t expect to see them here. Then, my gaze fell on the bandages on their hands and legs. All three of them had bodily injuries. My expression turned serious.
"Master," I greeted Master first. Then, I greeted the others one by one.
Leah, Lola, and Clara felt a strong, suffocating pressure weighing down on them. It was not done knowingly, but it was the result of the presence of the strong.
Master Austin immediately provided cover for the female disciples.
Austin didn’t show it, but his forehead was covered in fine beads of sweat.
He, too, felt a sense of crisis from his own disciple. He didn’t talk about it because it was embarrassing, but Austin could tell his disciple had long surpassed him.
He had only felt this type of pressure from a few people: Faction Leader Clifford and the other faction leaders.
He had felt a similar pressure from the Purple Mark Guard, and a terrifying pressure from Dean Jerome, who was a Red Mark Warrior.
The senior sisters were actually in awe of their junior brother. They remembered seeing him as a Black Mark Warrior, but they didn’t know when Zack Lockwood had become a Purple Mark Warrior.
Leah was already a Purple Mark Warrior. She had broken through some time ago from being a Gold Mark Warrior. Similarly, Lola had become a Silver Mark Warrior from being a Black Mark Warrior.
Likewise, Main Elder Rosie’s disciple was a Gold Mark Warrior right now. Yet, they were shocked to see the progress of Zack Lockwood.
Austin saw the shocked reactions of the other disciples. He was not surprised, because he, too, was experiencing the shock.
He knew Zack Lockwood had become a Purple Mark Warrior some time ago, but what was with this threatening aura? He was facing it for the first time.
"Let’s go back to the room and talk," Austin said.
Hearing that, the others recovered their thoughts. They used to be talkative with Zack Lockwood, but now they were quiet. On the other hand, I watched everything.
I followed the Master to his room. We walked inside and came to the living area. The master sat on a chair before asking me to sit. I sat down on the sofa.
The seniors entered one after another and sat down on the sofa chairs.
Quiet!
There was a strange quietness. I decided to break the ice.
"Master, what’s with the senior sisters’ injuries?" I asked him.
Austin smiled and said, "Leah was in Warrior Camp 1. She fought against a horned humanoid. Similarly, Lola and Clara fought against terrifying creatures, but not the elites."
Hearing that, my eyes flashed with understanding.
"Senior Sister, it’s not easy to survive the attacks of the horned humanoids," I said to her.
To that, Leah smiled and said, "I fought one-on-one against a Gold Mark level horned humanoid. But I heard you fought against a Purple Mark level creature."
Hearing that, I shook my head and said, "I have an ancient inheritance, so I was able to manage. But it’s a different story for you guys."
"Alright, tell me about yourself first," Austin interjected.
