Chapter 1574: Part 1: Meeting Both Masters
Star University – Golden Lightning Palace
Master Austin and the others were looking toward me. They wanted to know about my experience, but I had decided not to tell them about the Dead Fang and Thorn Reaper.
Leah, Lola, and Clara were looking at me. Their expressions told me everything, they wanted to know, and they wouldn’t let me off just like that.
I said, "I did fight against the foreign creatures. At one point, they surrounded me completely. I had to face more than twenty foreign creatures."
"What?" Lola exclaimed in surprise.
Leah and Clara had the same expression; they were shocked internally. They were seeing Zack Lockwood after a long time, so they didn’t know what experiences he had gone through.
Austin showed no surprise, but he understood that Zack Lockwood was not going to tell them the whole truth. He knew that Zack had faced more than fifty foreign creatures at the same time.
"Are you telling the truth?"
"How did you survive?" Lola asked.
"I told you, I have an ancient inheritance with me. I was able to injure them with the power of lightning," I replied.
Hearing that, Leah turned toward Austin. Only Master Austin could verify whether Zack Lockwood’s lightning power was truly that strong.
Seeing Sister Leah’s reaction, Lola and the others turned toward Master Austin as well.
Austin’s mouth twitched. If he told them the truth, they would be scared out of their wits. With Zack Lockwood’s current strength, he could easily defeat even him, let alone ordinary foreign creatures.
He said, "Zack is telling the truth. His purple lightning force can injure even elite horned humanoid creatures; ordinary foreign creatures are no match for him."
Gasp!
A low exclamation escaped from the mouths of Lola and Clara. Ordinary foreign creatures were already too much for them; they had fought hard just to survive against the horned humanoids.
Leah didn’t say anything, but she was shocked as well. Then the ice was broken, and we started chatting casually.
The Senior Sisters and Clara behaved as usual. I shared some interesting stories from the warrior camps, though I didn’t mention the boundary.
"Okay, when are you going to meet with Master Ann? Once she knows you’re here, she will be extremely happy," Austin interjected.
"I’m going to meet her right after leaving here."
"I already sent her a message. She was busy with her work. Many injured Gold Mark and Purple Mark Warriors were admitted to the campus clinic," Austin said.
Hearing that, I nodded. The situation at the warrior camps was worse than I thought.
I asked, "Master, I should have asked this question earlier. I want to know what’s happening at the warrior camps. How are our warriors doing?"
Silence fell.
Hearing that, Austin and the others showed a change in expression. My gaze fell on their injured bodies again. Senior Sister Leah was not weak; if even she had suffered injuries, I could only imagine the plight of the other warriors.
Austin said, "You might have already guessed it. The situation is dire. The numbers on their side are huge. It’s no easy task for our warriors to fight against such numbers."
"We are using a different strategy each time to fight against them," he added.
Hearing that, I remained silent. I didn’t know how they would react if they learned about the Thorn Reaper.
Buzz!
Austin received a message. After reading it, he turned toward me and said, "Main Elder Ann is waiting for you. Go and meet her. We will catch up later. I will also update the Faction Leader and the main elders."
"They might want to meet you later," he added.
Hearing that, I nodded and bid farewell to the Senior Sisters and Clara. Next, I left the Master’s Residence and walked out of the Golden Lightning Palace.
I headed toward the Healing Palace next.
As usual, I saw female warriors coming back from the Healing Palace. They were wearing the emblem of the Healing Palace.
A hint of surprise flashed in my eyes because their numbers reached up to thirty. They appeared to be coming from the Healing Palace. I didn’t expect this many warriors to be there.
Then I realized something.
"Don’t tell me Master Ann sent them out because of me," I muttered to myself.
The female warriors looked toward me and began whispering among themselves. Among the group, I recognized a few familiar faces. They were disciples of Master Ann as well.
"Senior Zack Lockwood is here."
"It’s Zack Lockwood."
"Zack Lockwood is here!"
The familiar Senior and Junior Sisters approached me.
A bright smile appeared on my face. I didn’t expect them to recognize me; we had only met once or twice during my previous visits with Master Ann.
"How are you guys doing?" I asked.
"Master Ann said that you were back. We didn’t expect to see you here," a middle aged Senior Sister said.
"Yes, I’m back. It’s nice to see you all. But why do your faces look so tired?" I asked them.
"We are all heading to the clinic. More than a hundred warriors were admitted there. Master Ann instructed us to treat them carefully. Many of them were attacked by dark energy, and it’s damaging their foundation," she said.
Hearing that, I realized the gravity of the situation. Dark energy was not easy to handle. Even with an ancient inheritance, it took a great deal of energy to withstand it.
I encouraged them with a few words before parting ways, then continued toward the Healing Palace. When I got there, I saw that the gate was open.
It appeared there were some students inside. I entered the grounds and headed toward Master Ann’s residence. Then I paused and expanded my mental power.
In the blink of an eye, my mental power covered the entire area.
I sensed Master Ann sitting in the back garden with a few disciples, her usual spot.
I headed toward the garden. When I arrived, I saw Master Ann instructing the disciples. But as my gaze swept over them, I was surprised to find that these disciples were all Black Mark Warriors.
