Boundary No. 5

Everyone was ready to depart. The warriors took a last look at the boundary. They knew Zack Lockwood was the only one remaining inside.

They knew about his strength, but they still had doubts about whether Zack Lockwood could survive alone. He could fight against one, but what about a group?

They knew Zack Lockwood had little chance of survival. The only option left for him was to leave the boundary like them.

But they didn’t know whether Zack Lockwood would do it.

Then they left the place. Stella felt bad, but she knew the reality. She could only hope that Zack Lockwood would leave the place as well.

Meanwhile,

I was practicing inside the tent. This time, I wanted to use the blood energy efficiently. I had rarely used such power in battle.

I had mostly relied on my lightning power and shock force. If I could use the blood force efficiently, then I could save time during battle.

The foreign creatures would die faster. I spent a few hours in training before coming outside the tent.

Then I saw the empty ground around me. There was no sign of the warriors here. I knew everyone had left.

A hint of disappointment flashed in my eyes. I didn’t know what Dean Jerome was thinking. Was he isolating me from the other warriors?

Was this related to the foreign creatures targeting me? Then I shook my head. I didn’t want to waste time by thinking too much about it.

Buzz!

The next second, the device in my possession buzzed. I took the device out and saw the contact name.

The person calling was none other than Dean Jerome. My eyes flashed with surprise. I was just thinking about him.

Next, I answered the call.

"Zack Lockwood, I know you must be confused by the situation. But I have received reports that attacks on other boundaries have intensified."

"They need warriors to withstand the pressure. And I’m sure that the foreign creatures are targeting you. If you find yourself in a dangerous situation, then you can use the artifact," Jerome said.

When he said that, I recalled the bead-like treasure on me. It could release the power of a half-step Red Mark Level attack. But I didn’t think the foreign creatures would send such creatures.

Then I asked him a few other questions. I understood that Dean Jerome was executing plans to collect information regarding the foreign creatures.

After ending the call, I took a walk around the whole boundary alone. I even walked up to the barrier and tried to walk past it, but it blocked me directly.

Next, I began to investigate the place. I wanted to know how the barrier was maintained. Then I found a building. There seemed to be a big machine running inside. When I tried to enter, I found there was no door.

It was a completely sealed building. I didn’t try to probe further. I guessed only a Purple Mark Guard could use some key to open the barrier.

Then I returned to the tent.

That night, the crack in space above the boundary opened. It immediately sent an alarm across the boundary.

Swoosh!

I exited the tent and saw the crack widening in midair. I felt a sense of crisis. The threat of death was higher than before.

Before my shocked gaze, I saw a massive snake-like creature trying to get out. The head of the creature was over 4 meters wide.

I saw a long, protruding thorn on top of its head. The thorn was covered in black runes. It was similar to the creature known as Dead Fang.

The massive, wide body was coming out from the crack. My senses screamed at me. They wanted me to get out of this place.

But my gaze remained locked on the spatial crack. The length of the snake-like creature was immense. It had sharp spikes on its back.

It was exactly like the Dead Fang, except it resembled a snake. The huge creature, more than 50 feet long, landed on the ground.

The creature alone occupied most of the space.

Boom!

Next, the Thorn Reaper immediately sensed the presence of life. It was a half-step Red Mark Level creature. The foreign creatures’ side had somehow managed to send such a creature to the boundary.

The Reaper saw the human warrior. It recognized the face. It was the target to be eliminated, but the creature didn’t feel the presence of others.

Reaper was surprised. Now it was even easier to kill the target. It didn’t expect the enemy to present such an opportunity.

Boom!

The Reaper then turned toward the target to attack. The massive thorn above its head began to change. The black runes were activated.

Boom!

Next, the Reaper shot out a dark beam from the thorn. It took only a couple of seconds.

Boom!

On the other hand, I decisively moved away from the spot to avoid the attack. But the beam traveled fast. If I had hesitated a moment longer, the attack would have reached me.

The black beam missed its target.

Boom!

The beam struck the ground. It immediately created a massive, deep pit. The shock force spread across the place.

The impact force landed on me as well, but I was able to withstand the pressure.

The Reaper was shocked. It then continued to shoot out multiple beam attacks.

Boom! Boom!

I used the lightning phantom movement method to avoid the attacks. Whenever an attack landed on the empty ground, it caused a deep pit to form.

It didn’t take long for the terrain of the boundary to change. The ground everywhere was filled with massive deep pits.

Not only that, but the shock force had uprooted the tents. A few of the dark beams landed on the tents and destroyed them completely.

Boom!

The Reaper was enraged. It continued to discharge a few more dark beams. The power tore through the air before landing on the ground.

As time passed, none of the tents survived. All of them were destroyed. The only building left standing was the sealed building with the big machine inside.

If it were destroyed, then the barrier would be gone as well.
