Chapter 1607: Choosing a Reward
United City (Tier-3 Sub Post)
The administrative staff were working on the list. Before sending it, they asked for a word from the council elders.
The council elders heard about Zack Lockwood’s request. They had already made a decision regarding Zack Lockwood.
Irrespective of their backgrounds, they had decided to support Zack Lockwood’s growth. They didn’t want to face the wrath of Elder Jane.
They could see Zack Lockwood’s potential. If Zack Lockwood became a Red Mark Warrior, he could really change the battlefield.
So no one raised any objections. They had also stated not to hold back any rare resources. For example, if there were any useful treasures related to lightning, they should include them.
Some other elders had already started making plans. If they could provide resources useful to Zack Lockwood, they could mend past rifts.
They agreed to it. The administrative staff then sent the list to Zack Lockwood.

Residence
After taking a bath, I walked out and changed into fresh clothes. Then I went to the sofa and sat down. I remembered asking the administration for the list.
I took out the device and saw new messages. They were sent by the administration. I opened the messages and read them.
A bright smile appeared on my face.
"What is it?" the ancient spirit’s voice asked.
"They have sent me the list," I replied.
"Ha... Ha... Ha... The news of your battle must have shocked them. They are ready to give rewards," the ancient spirit said with a laugh.
"Alright. Let’s check the list." After saying that, I opened the list to read it. The ancient spirit could check the list with me as well.
[1. Pill made from the root of a ten-thousand-year-old lightning-struck tree.]
[2. Treasure plants and flowers grown in a lightning-rich region.]
[3. Superior-Grade Purple Lightning Essence Stones.]
[4. Crystallized liquid of an undated purple lightning seed.]
I read them one by one.
"Select the fourth one. You have to get the lightning seed liquid," the ancient spirit’s voice sounded all of a sudden.
Hearing that, I didn’t expect the ancient spirit to be this excited.
"Wait, there are six more. They only sent a list of ten treasures to me, and all of them are purple lightning-related," I replied to the ancient spirit.
"Humph, I have already looked at the other six. They are a waste. You can get all those treasures when you grow stronger, but the fourth one is hard to come across."
"I think they failed to date the crystallized liquid for some reason. So pick the fourth one," the ancient spirit’s voice urged.
Hearing that, I raised my eyebrows. The words "lightning seed" caught my attention as well. Just earlier, I was wondering how to improve my lightning seed.
If the lightning seed grew stronger, it would have an impact on the purple lightning force as well.
Then I could wield stronger purple lightning power. Still, I decided to glance at the other six resources. I was curious about them.
Like the ancient spirit said, the other resources were not that rare. They were fruit-type treasures and monster cores from lightning-type monsters.
And the top three weren’t impressive either.
"Well, you have taken your sweet time. What have you decided?" the ancient spirit’s voice asked.
"Alright, I’ll go with your suggestion. I’m going to ask them to send me the crystallized liquid of the old lightning seed. I hope it helps my lightning seed," I said.
"Don’t worry. Even the slightest improvement to the purple lightning seed will increase the power of the purple lightning," the ancient spirit’s voice assured.
I decided to trust the ancient spirit. The ancient spirit’s knowledge was far vaster than mine.
I took the device and typed a reply. Then I sent the message back to the administration.
"You can already slay foreign creatures in one move. If your purple lightning improves further, no one will be your match," the ancient spirit’s voice said.
"What about the Quasi-Gods?" I asked.
"Hold on. I hope you aren’t overconfident when it comes to Quasi-Gods. The energy of a Quasi-God would kill you, let alone fighting against one," the ancient spirit said.
"Why?" I asked.
"There is a huge natural barrier between a Red Mark Warrior and a Quasi-God. You won’t be human anymore. You will be an evolved human with a much longer lifespan and special energy," the ancient voice explained.
Hearing that, my eyes flickered. I couldn’t wait to become a Red Mark Warrior soon. But before that, I had to become a Half-Step Red Mark Warrior.
...
The Dark Planet
In a totally different secret location, in the middle of the endless black sand, stood a sky-piercing, towering structure.
It was the base of the foreign creatures, where they controlled and commanded the Red Mark-level creatures, including the elite races.
Right now, the higher-ups responsible for the Red Mark-level battles were gathered for a meeting. They had sent scouts to the ten secret land battlefields.
These higher-ups on the foreign creatures’ side were at the Red Mark level. They were totally different from the group that handled the battles across the human warrior camps and boundaries.
These foreign creatures came in various shapes and sizes.
They were gathered in a huge, wide hall, sitting around a round table.
These creatures were all communicating in their own tongues. They didn’t care about the results because they knew the outcome was the same every time.
So they chatted normally while waiting for the reports to arrive at their desks.
"The Ten Secret Land Battlefield must have experienced another slaughter. The human side sends their Red Mark Warriors to their deaths every time," an oval-shaped creature with no eyes commented.
"It’s just that the powerhouses at the Quasi-God level and above pose a real threat to our Masters. If not for them, we would have completely invaded the planet long ago," a foreign creature with long, wide wings said.
"Don’t worry, the situation won’t remain the same for long. The human side doesn’t have a next generation of warriors," another creature with a weird shape commented.
