She wasn’t done yet. Moira Lynch dug a hole and hid inside.

After doing all that, she slipped into her space and surrendered to unconsciousness.

Moira Lynch’s sleep was anything but restful. Something was constantly licking her face, and she couldn’t get away from it no matter how she tried.

She didn’t know how long she’d been out. Moira Lynch slowly opened her eyes, her first instinct to shove away whatever was licking her face. But there was nothing there.

She shot upright and looked around. There was nothing. Reaching up to touch her face, she found the sticky sensation still lingered. She quickly went to wash it.

After washing her face, Moira Lynch stripped off her bulky clothes and took out a full-length mirror.

Looking at her reflection, it seemed as if nothing had changed, yet also as if a great deal had.

’Have I gotten taller?’ Her clothes suddenly felt a bit small, especially her pants, which now left her ankles exposed.

Moira Lynch had been around five-foot-six, not quite five-seven. Now...

She took out a measuring tape. Five-foot-nine. She had grown a full three inches.

On top of that, her facial features seemed more refined and symmetrical. Her figure had changed as well—natural, given the height increase—and her hair even seemed much thicker.

Likely due to the temperate, spring-like environment inside her space, Moira Lynch’s hair and skin had already recovered their healthy appearance.

Beyond these obvious physical changes, she suspected there were internal ones as well, though Moira Lynch couldn’t yet determine their extent.

She changed into clothes that fit. The sudden growth spurt had caught her completely off guard. ’Looks like I can’t wear most of the clothes I had ready.’ Luckily, she had acquired plenty of ready-made garments from the Cloud-Silk Beastman.

After getting herself geared up again, she left the space. She learned from Patience that eight hours had passed.

The moment she left the space, Moira Lynch felt the squeeze.

The hole had been dug in a hurry and had been just big enough for her old self. Now that she’d suddenly grown so much, it was no wonder it felt cramped.

After crawling out of the snow, she saw that the Erqii from yesterday was gone, just as she’d expected. The iceberg it had been gnawing on for food had vanished as well, leaving not a single trace behind.

Moira Lynch scanned her surroundings, instinctively sending out her spiritual power to probe the area.

The moment she did, she almost lost control of it. ’When did the range of my spiritual power get so huge?’

Moreover, for some unknown reason, she could faintly hear young-sounding voices at the edge of her hearing.

But her spiritual power wasn’t detecting any life forms nearby.

’Was I imagining it?’

Just as Moira Lynch was starting to wonder if she’d imagined it, the voice sounded again.

"Avalanche! An avalanche is coming! Run, run!!"

’An avalanche!!’

’You’ve got to be kidding me. There aren’t even any snow-capped mountains here. How could there be an ava—’

’Wait!!!’

Moira Lynch’s eyes widened as she looked at the continuous range of snow-capped mountains in the distance. ’Wait, when did these mountains get here? Why didn’t anyone tell me?’

Just then, a violent tremor ran through the ground. Remembering the warning, Moira Lynch’s face fell.

’I can’t be this unlucky!!’

As it turned out, she was exactly that unlucky.

A massive wall of snow came tumbling toward her, a sight that made Moira Lynch think of the apocalypse. Only one thought echoed in her mind: ’The heavens want me dead... but that’s not happening.’

She immediately whipped out her Flying Device and shot into the air.

The sky wasn’t necessarily safe, either. Moira Lynch’s mind raced, recalling everything she knew about avalanches.

After learning the apocalypse would likely consist of various natural disasters, Moira Lynch had crammed on the subject.

An avalanche is an incredibly dangerous natural phenomenon. When a massive amount of snow rapidly slides downhill due to gravity, it creates a powerful impact force, destroying everything in its path.

Anyone caught in an avalanche would suffer severe injuries, including broken bones, internal damage, and even death.

The sky was only unsafe if one wasn’t high enough. Moira Lynch activated her protective shield and pushed the device to fly higher.

Once she reached a high enough altitude and was certain she was out of harm’s way, Moira Lynch finally breathed a sigh of relief and looked down at the scene below.

The avalanche was like an insatiable beast, devouring everything in its path.

Moira Lynch watched the devastation with lingering fear. Only then did it occur to her: ’What exactly was that voice I heard earlier?’

If it hadn’t been for that voice, she might never have realized an avalanche was coming.

"Patience, did you hear anything before the avalanche started?"

[No sounds were heard, nor were any acoustic fluctuations detected.]

’If there was nothing, then this is even stranger. I know I heard it. Could it really have been my imagination? Was my subconscious warning me?’

’I remember that Red Fruit can awaken a person’s potential. Maybe this is a result of that? After all, a person’s intuition can be surprisingly accurate sometimes.’

Moira Lynch chalked it all up to the Red Fruit. After watching the avalanche for a little while longer, she piloted her Flying Device away from the dangerous region.

After reaching a safe area, her stomach rumbled in protest.

She hadn’t eaten much since yesterday, aside from some Snow Chestnuts and Snow Lily Seeds. It was time for a hot meal.

She looked around and spotted a small, snow-covered mountain nearby. The recent avalanche still had her on edge, but there was no better spot in the vicinity.

Besides, the mountain wasn’t large, so a disaster like an avalanche was unlikely.

Arriving at the foot of the mountain, Moira Lynch took out a shovel and dug a cave into the slope.

Once the space inside was large enough, she sealed the entrance with snow to prevent any smells from wafting out and attracting enemies, storing the excess snow in her space.

With these preparations complete, Moira Lynch took out the portable kitchen she had gotten in Snowfox Village.

According to the Snowfox Boy, it had everything.

Moira Lynch thought of a piece of cookware that could heat up food. The next second, the box transformed into a pot with a self-heating function.

She took out a pre-prepared meal and poured it into the pot, then added a generous amount of other tasty ingredients.

’Conditions are what they are. I’ll just have to make do with this for now.’

After eating and drinking her fill, Moira Lynch let out a satisfied burp. ’Ah, that’s the stuff.’ She then ate the remaining Snow Chestnuts and Snow Lily Seeds for dessert. ’Now that’s even better.’

’I wonder when the rescue team will arrive.’

Moira Lynch inquired about their progress. The response was that they were still en route.

They also reminded her that this was the season for frequent avalanches on Glacius, and urged her to be extremely careful.
