’An avalanche?’

’That really is dangerous.’

Moira Lynch sighed, then stretched and got up to clean the mess from her meal.

Rescue was still on the way. The good news was she could use this time to complete a few more side quests. The bad news was she had to constantly be on the lookout for avalanches.

After packing everything up, Moira Lynch walked out of the cave, ready to leave.

She currently had a side quest that was halfway done; she just needed to find the Snowbird Singing Troupe to complete it.

She recalled finding Snowfox Village near Snow Rabbit Village. ’Could the Snowbirds also be somewhere nearby?’

Moira Lynch decided to go back and look. It was a lead, at least, which was better than wandering around aimlessly.

As she walked, she came to a place where an avalanche had just occurred.

Moira Lynch bent down and picked up an Ice Chestnut from the ground. The avalanche must have churned up the deep snow, bringing the hidden Ice Chestnuts to the surface with it.

After searching the area for a while, Moira Lynch had harvested over a dozen Ice Chestnuts, more than twenty Ice Mist Fruits that were scuffed but still intact, and a dozen or so Snow Lily seeds.

In addition, Moira Lynch also dug a dead Yeti out from under the snow.

It had likely been unfortunate enough to be caught in the avalanche and lost its life.

’How pitiful.’

Moira Lynch’s gaze fell on the Yeti’s two enormous horns, which had a metallic sheen. A Yeti’s horns were valuable things—incredibly hard and exceptionally sharp.

Among The Yeti Tribe, the larger the horns, the more powerful the individual, and the higher their status.

In life, the horns were a Yeti’s most powerful weapon. After death, the pair of horns would automatically fall off, and other Yetis would take their companion’s horns back to be buried.

This Yeti had died by being swept into an avalanche, so its horns hadn’t been taken away by other Yetis.

Moira Lynch’s hand gripped one of the horns tightly. She pulled hard, and with a CRACK, one horn broke off. She did the same with the second.

[Hidden Quest Triggered: Find a pair of Yeti Horns. Reward: one high-grade item. Accept?]

Upon seeing the hidden quest, Moira Lynch rejected it without hesitation. ’What a joke. Does the system really think I’m some clueless player? The rarity of Yeti Horns far exceeds the value of a single high-grade item. Wouldn’t it be better to craft a weapon for myself?’

Even if she didn’t craft a weapon herself, the money she’d get from selling them would be enough to buy several high-grade items.

’The system actually wants to trade one high-grade item for my pair of horns? Dream on. You can have anything you want in your dreams.’

After stowing the Yeti Horns in her inventory, Moira Lynch looted the Yeti’s body again and found a somewhat worn-out cloth pouch.

Just as she was opening it to see what was inside, her spirit suddenly jolted. Two Yetis were approaching, and they were moving very fast.

Seeing this, Moira Lynch immediately put the cloth pouch away, took out her Flying Device, and left the area at top speed.

A few minutes later, a furious, piercing roar echoed from the distance.

’Shouting like that, aren’t they afraid of triggering another avalanche?’

Just then, the voice she had heard before rang in Moira Lynch’s ears again: "Run, run, an avalanche is coming, an avalanche is coming!!"

Immediately after, a rumbling sound reached her ears. Moira Lynch subconsciously piloted the Flying Device to a higher altitude.

Then she saw avalanches of varying sizes breaking loose in every direction.

As if she’d thought of something, Moira Lynch activated the Illusion Cloak’s Invisibility function and flew back toward her previous location.

When she arrived, she found that, as expected, the area had been buried once more.

She released her spiritual power to search, but found no trace of the Yetis buried under the snow.

Not only that, but even the first Yeti’s corpse was gone. ’Could it have been washed away somewhere else?’

With this in mind, Moira Lynch began searching downstream in the direction of the avalanche’s flow.

Soon, a few hundred meters away, she found two fresh Yeti corpses.

’How should I put this?’ She had only been trying her luck. Even if caught in an avalanche, a Yeti wouldn’t necessarily die.

But when she saw the state of the two dead Yetis, she could only say that they were truly unlucky.

They were tangled together, their sharp horns having pierced each other’s bodies. The splattered blood had stained a small patch of the surrounding snow red.

After pocketing the horns from both Yetis, she found two more cloth pouches on their bodies, similar to the first one. They were bulging, as if stuffed with many things.

The system’s voice rang out again.

[Congratulations to player SoySauceDrunkard for triggering the hidden quest: Collect a pair of Yeti Horns. Quest Reward: Two high-grade items.

PS: The more horns you submit, the greater the reward.]

Although the reward had been doubled, Moira Lynch still chose to refuse.

’No means no. I’m not taking such a losing deal.’

After rejecting the quest, Moira Lynch left the area once again, for real this time.

After getting off the Flying Device, Moira Lynch collected snow into her inventory space as she traveled.

’Oh, right. I still haven’t checked what’s inside those cloth pouches.’

Moira Lynch took out a cloth pouch. After opening it, she saw gold and red beads, each about five centimeters in diameter.

There was a vertical line in the middle of each bead, making them look just like eyes.

Wait!!

Moira Lynch picked up a red bead and looked at it again and again. ’Isn’t this... the eye of the Iceberg Beast Zidra!’

’Then the gold one is... the eye of Erqii?’

Before Moira Lynch could even ask Patience what was going on, another system quest popped up.

[Congratulations to SoySauceDrunkard for triggering the hidden quest, Heavenly Eye Recovery. One Heavenly Eye for 10,000 Gold Coins. Accept?]

Moira Lynch rolled her eyes. She didn’t accept or reject, but simply ignored the system’s quest.

"Patience, what’s a Heavenly Eye?"

[Heavenly Eye: A support-type item. Because its production method has not yet been deciphered, it cannot be mass-produced. Currently, only The Yeti Tribe can craft them.

Function: The Heavenly Eye can act as a substitute eye, allowing for comprehensive surveillance of a specific area.

Pros: Small, fast, with a surveillance range of up to tens of thousands of square meters.

Cons: Requires powerful spiritual power to use.]

After reading the Heavenly Eye’s description, Moira Lynch looked at the quest panel again. At the very bottom, a number was continuously increasing.

Only then did she realize that this quest wasn’t just for her, but for all players; she had merely been the one to trigger it.

She rejected the quest.

’The Heavenly Eye requires powerful spiritual power to use. This item is practically tailor-made for me! There’s no way I’m handing them over. Isn’t it better to keep them for myself?’

’This thing is much stealthier than a drone.’
