Chapter 126: Hot Pot Exchange Voucher
Roman Rowe retorted, "Last time we had regular octopus balls. These are different!"
"Alright, alright." Lily Hart bought a large order so anyone who wanted could try one. Easton, Diana Sharp, and the other kids arrived one after another.
It was another huge round of selections. They were so engrossed that they didn’t even notice the arrival of Logan Holland and his family of three.
Logan Holland wanted to greet them several times, but seeing how cheerful the atmosphere was, he decided against it. The family of three stood obediently to the side, waiting in a neat line.
Listening to them rattle off the names of the snacks one by one, like reciting a menu, was enough to make one drool. Tanya Holland covered her mouth, politely stopping herself from doing so.
"Minister Holland." Leo Colby, coming out of the hotel, spotted the two adults and one child standing as if they were being punished. His perfunctory greeting finally dragged everyone’s attention away from their Light Brains.
Lily Hart greeted him warmly. "Here to buy some scratch-off tickets?"
Just then, the snacks Lily Hart had ordered began appearing on the table one by one. The kids helped arrange them. Everyone in the RV was unfazed by this, and Leo Colby boarded the vehicle with practiced ease.
The sheer amount of food, filling two entire tables, along with its aroma and quantity, left Logan Holland and his group utterly stunned.
Even though he had seen such a scene before, he was still shocked. Who in their right mind eats like this every day! Less than ten people, and this much food!
’Is this even reasonable?’
Tanya Holland’s little eyes were already glued to the adorably shaped small cake. It was also something Roman Rowe had been dying to eat. ’His tastes sure are all over the place.’
He wanted to eat everything, whether it was sour, spicy, or sweet.
Her gaze was too intense for Lily Hart to ignore, and Tanya was just so adorable.
Lily Hart turned, cut the small cake into several pieces with a knife, and gave one to Tanya. Roman Rowe was still shouting from behind, "I haven’t taken a picture yet!"
"Here, go ahead and eat," Lily Hart said, bending down to hand it to Tanya.
Tanya’s face screamed "I want it," and she was on who knows what round of salivating. But she had been raised to be very polite. She first looked at her parents, and only after they nodded did she accept it with both hands, saying clearly, "Thank you, sister."
"Such a good girl." Lily Hart chuckled. ’I just love well-behaved kids. The bratty ones should be fed to zombies, along with their parents.’
Logan Holland took a step forward. "Yes, we’re here to play the scratch-offs."
Lily Hart hadn’t put out the scratch-off tickets at all today and had even notified everyone that she wasn’t open for business.
Logan Holland’s group were the very first customers of the day.
Since the scratch-off tickets now came in three different price tiers, Lily Hart had bought twenty books of each tier on her first day at Fortune Base. Now they were all partially used.
However, the price was marked on the top-right corner of every ticket. Lily Hart took out three different books and placed them on the table. "Pick them yourselves."
Logan Holland already knew the procedure, so Lily Hart didn’t explain it again. The aroma from behind her was simply too enticing. ’I can’t wait any longer!’
Lily Hart turned, walked a few quick steps, and sat down. The spread was neatly arranged and extremely pleasing to the eye. Everyone had been waiting for her to be seated; no one had picked up their chopsticks out of greed.
She habitually used her Light Brain to take a photo, capturing every snack and every person in the frame.
Roman Rowe’s expression was the funniest. He was staring at the giant octopus balls in front of him, his eyes practically bugging out. The moment Lily Hart said they could start eating, he immediately snatched one for his bowl.
They really were giant octopus balls; one was half the size of Roman Rowe’s fist. He jabbed one with his chopsticks and took a huge bite.
The texture was rich, with several chewy and succulent octopus tentacles inside. The experience was pure bliss.
On the two tables, there was a huge variety of snacks: stinky tofu, crinkle-cut potatoes, grilled cold noodles, grilled sausages, boneless chicken strips, pan-fried buns, Chinese crepes, grilled sweet potato noodles, rice-stuffed chicken wings, and more...
The spread hit the mark for everyone’s favorites, and there wasn’t a single thing that Lily Hart herself didn’t love to eat.
Outside the RV, although Logan Holland’s group was several meters away, the unstoppable aroma wafted over, assaulting their senses.
"Scratch, scratch, scratch! ’What if we scratch off something good to eat!’" Logan Holland tried his best to block out the aroma, leading Tanya forward by her little hand.
He held her up to see the scratch-off tickets on the table. Logan Holland pointed to the most expensive book and said, "Tanya, you pick a few."
Tanya grabbed a few tickets based on her intuition. The family of three started scratching. The three bodyguards didn’t stand on ceremony either, taking out their own saved-up Crystal Cores to buy some tickets to scratch.
Outside, the scratching was in full swing; inside, the eating was even more feverish. Luckily, the RV’s temperature was constant, or they really would have died from the heat.
Cherie Lowell looked at the scratch-off tickets in her hand and sighed. "All ’Thank You for Playing.’ What about you, Tanya? Are you done scratching?"
Tanya Holland finished scratching the last spot. She glanced at it with her big eyes, realized she couldn’t understand it, and handed it to her mother.
Her mother could vaguely make out the shape of a pot but didn’t know the specifics. Following Logan Holland’s lead, she stuffed the ticket into the Lucky Cat’s mouth.
A moment later, it spat out a small card. The moment Logan Holland saw that kind of card, his heart started pounding.
’This has to be a grand prize!’
With an excited heart and trembling hands, Logan Holland picked it up and read: [Hot Pot Exchange Voucher x2].
"Oh my god!" Logan Holland exclaimed. ’Even though this Hot Pot Exchange Voucher is for a set menu with fixed ingredients, this is still an insane stroke of luck!’
"What is it? What is it?" Cherie Lowell could tell from his tone that the prize was something special. She leaned over to look and read it out, word by word: "Hot Pot Exchange Voucher!"
The two exchanged a look, then stuffed the small card back into the Lucky Cat, choosing to redeem it once.
Five seconds later, a large table and eight chairs appeared before them, followed by ingredients that descended from the sky one after another.
Everything was ready to be cooked, making it very convenient. The pot was already boiling; they could sit down and eat immediately.
"Come on, come on, have a seat!" Logan Holland called out, taking the first seat himself.
Cherie Lowell and Tanya also sat down next to him. At a look from Logan Holland, the three bodyguards sat down, looking extremely flattered and surprised.
The group of six was overjoyed. Who would have thought that Tanya’s pick would result in a grand prize!
At that thought, Cherie Lowell cupped Tanya’s face and gave her a kiss. "Tanya, you’re the best! We get to eat hot pot!"
Tanya was also very happy. She had just eaten a slice of cake, which wasn’t nearly enough to fill her up. As the aroma of the hot pot wafted over, her stomach began to growl cooperatively.
Logan Holland started adding ingredients to the pot. The gazes of all six people were fixed on it, their eyes filled with anticipation.
"It’s cooked! It’s cooked!" Logan Holland first picked up a slice of fatty beef for Cherie Lowell, then another for Tanya, before saying, "You all eat up, too. There’s plenty of food."
There really was a lot. The table was piled high, the ingredients were fresh, and there was enough for ten people.
Hearing this, everyone began to eat with abandon, discarding any thoughts of eating less now so they could save it for a second or third meal.
Inside the RV, Roman Rowe had been drinking and was now starting his "drunken truth-telling" session. His handsome face was flushed, and his blond hair was a mess.
It looked as if it had been thoroughly ravaged by its owner. He held up a finger, his body swaying.
He looked at Frost Shaw, then at Lily Hart, and opened his mouth. "Boss Hart, did you know that Frost..."
Before he could finish, Frost Shaw clamped a hand over his mouth and shot him a warning look.
