Chapter 125: Minister Holland Is Here

The Zombie King’s eyes glowed as he stared at Lily Hart, making her hair stand on end. She couldn’t help but clench her fists.

He never expected that even a tiny piece of this human female would have such a potent effect.

It had actually healed his wound, and a strange energy was now circulating through his body, slowly but surely repairing it.

But it was fleeting, lasting only two minutes. Still, that was just a fingernail. If it were her flesh and blood...

The Zombie King eagerly reached out, trying to grab Lily Hart, but was blocked by a transparent, flexible barrier.

He grew frantic, desperate to experience that sensation again! The Zombie King roared at Lily Hart, his expression savage.

Annoyed by the sight, Lily Hart closed up the RV. Out of sight, out of mind. Now, even the sound was completely blocked out.

She didn’t forget to warn Frost Shaw and the others in the group chat, "Don’t come out. That maniac is by the RV."

Frost Shaw immediately replied, "Do you need me to come over?"

Lily Hart refused. "Don’t worry, I’ll be fine as long as I don’t go out. Just look after yourselves, especially the hotel guests. Tell them not to go out for the next few days unless it’s necessary."

Leo Colby agreed.

Now that Lily Hart had a moment, she remembered what happened with Stan Sterling yesterday. She pulled up the surveillance footage and fast-forwarded to the previous night.

On the screen, a dense horde of zombies surrounded the RV. Suddenly, on the third floor of the hotel, a balcony door in the corner stealthily opened.

A person shot out from inside and quickly threw something, but before it could even hit the ground...

The person was snatched away by the Zombie King from a distance. Lily Hart saw that the object was a hand grenade. If it had exploded, it would have certainly served to alert everyone.

Lily Hart kept watching. After Stan Sterling was captured, he was tied up. His calls for help went completely unanswered.

The Zombie King ignored him, singularly focused on attacking the RV. ’This is so fucked!’

SNAP. Lily Hart slammed her Light Brain shut. Furious, she chugged a large mouthful of water. ’This Zombie King is so annoying!’

Outside the RV, the Zombie King gradually calmed down, as if it wasn’t the one who had been roaring savagely just moments before. It paced on the spot for a moment, then chose to leave for the time being.

Just then, a message arrived from Logan Holland, saying he was about to reach Fortune Base.

Lily Hart opened a small window to peek outside. She didn’t see any sign of the Zombie King. ’He’s probably gone.’

Half an hour later, the sound of a helicopter buzzed above the RV. Lily Hart checked the surveillance cameras again, and only after confirming there was no sign of the Zombie King in any direction...

...did she open up all four sides of the vehicle. The helicopter circled several times before landing in front of the RV.

Logan Holland stepped out, leading Cherie Lowell and Tanya. Following them were three familiar-looking bodyguards, and no one else.

A smile bloomed on Lily Hart’s face. ’As long as it’s not the Zombie King, I’m happy.’ "Long time no see, Minister Holland."

Logan Holland was extremely happy to see her. Even though Central Command had already rolled out the online supermarket on a large scale...

...and the residents had become quite dependent on it, feeling uneasy if they went a day without using it or buying something. The purchase limits were also working very well, with almost no cases of supplies being sold at exorbitant prices.

But, Logan Holland still dearly missed the lottery shop. After all, you couldn’t buy fresh fruits and vegetables at the convenience store.

It was all just food with long shelf lives, and no fast food either. Now, seeing Boss Hart, Logan Holland was grinning from ear to ear.

Meanwhile, after Logan Holland’s "brainwashing," Cherie Lowell had come to hold a fair amount of respect and fondness for Lily Hart.

The family of three, plus the three bodyguards, all wore smiles of extreme sincerity and warmth.

Lily Hart found it a bit strange. Logan Holland came up to her and said, "Boss Hart, long time no see. This is my wife, Cherie Lowell, and my daughter, Tanya Holland."

Lily Hart looked at each of them and offered some warm, polite praise. "Wow, what an elegant mother, and Tanya is so cute~"

After a round of pleasantries, Lily Hart led them to the Dawn Hotel. The main doors were shut tight, still stained with uncleaned zombie blood.

Logan Holland’s sharp eyes noticed something was off. He shot a subtle glance at the expressionless Lily Hart.

But he said nothing. The group walked into the hotel. Leo Colby was still at the front desk.

He was cracking melon seeds, sipping a drink, and watching a palace intrigue drama that Lily Hart had sent to his Light Brain.

Logan Holland watched with extreme envy. ’Isn’t this the ideal life? Far from the complexities of human relationships, just living a simple, quiet life with my wife and daughter.’

Cherie Lowell’s eyes, on the other hand, lit up. Although she often heard Logan Holland talk about how wonderful life was here...

...she could only truly believe it now that she was seeing it with her own eyes. In the hotel lobby stood a wall of refrigerators, filled with all sorts of drinks.

There was also a designated area set aside for customers to store food that needed refrigeration, most of which was bought from the convenience store.

Hearing the commotion, Leo Colby paused the palace intrigue drama, stood up, and looked at Lily Hart, then at Logan Holland. "Checking in?"

"Yes, a room for..." Logan Holland glanced at the electronic screen on the wall, which displayed the room types and prices. He paused for a moment, then quickly said, "A triple."

This room type was suitable for a family living together, or for a group of people who couldn’t afford that many Crystal Cores at the moment.

"We’ll take it for a month to start," Logan Holland said generously.

"Alright, that’s ten thousand points, which is one hundred Crystal Cores," Leo Colby recited practicedly.

As Cherie Lowell took out the Crystal Cores, Logan Holland asked in surprise, "Huh? The exchange rate changed? It used to be fifty points for one Crystal Core, now it’s one hundred?"

Lily Hart nodded. "That’s right. The scratch-offs have changed too. You can go try them later."

"Great, great, great," Logan Holland replied cheerfully. He took the room key and led his wife and daughter up to the third floor, while the bodyguards waited downstairs.

The moment the door opened, the room felt exceptionally bright and spacious, twice the size of the double room Logan Holland had stayed in before.

Just inside the door was one bed. Around a half-wall were two more beds, creating a simple partition.

Opposite the beds were a bathroom and a wardrobe, as well as a table and chair set that could seat six.

Beyond the floor-to-ceiling window were a kitchen and a balcony. The more Cherie Lowell looked, the more she liked it. It was so much better than their small house at Central Command.

It was spacious and bright, and the furniture was all there. Most importantly, it had hot water and air conditioning! The kind you could use as much as you wanted!

Seeing the balcony, Cherie Lowell was already starting to plan what she would do with it. ’If I can win a plant prize from a scratch-off, I’ll grow it here.’

’Oh, and I’ll put a lounge chair out here, read books, grow flowers, sip on some drinks... what a wonderful life that would be.’

Logan Holland had intended to unpack a bit, but Cherie Lowell was already impatient to try the "win-anything" scratch-offs her husband had told her about. She quickly pulled him and their daughter back downstairs.

As evening fell and dinnertime approached, Lily Hart felt it had been a very long day. Everyone had worked so hard; they deserved a big feast!

So she started planning what everyone liked to eat, putting together a grand collection of night market snacks like last time. ’Healthy or not, doesn’t matter. As long as it makes everyone happy.’

She directed Frost Shaw and Roman Rowe to bring out the tables from the storage room. They pushed two together, and three heads huddled around Lily Hart’s Light Brain to pick out snacks.

"I’ve never had this before, I want one!" Roman Rowe shouted.

"Jumbo octopus balls? Haven’t you had these before?" Lily Hart read the name of the snack out, word by word.
