Chapter 234: Omnipotent?
It was hard for ordinary humans to even get near a member of the Mysterious Clan...
Cheryl Rivers couldn’t figure it out. ’Where on earth did Lily Hart come from?’
She couldn’t figure it out, and neither could the people in the meeting room upstairs. They stood cautiously by the shattered floor-to-ceiling window, looking down.
They couldn’t help but let out a series of stunned gasps.
That was a member of the Mysterious Clan, and they had seen for themselves just how powerful the clan was.
With a wave of their hand, they could make an entire building collapse. With a stomp of their foot, they could leave someone half-dead from a distance.
And yet... she was sent flying by Lily Hart this many times? It was unbelievable! ’Could Lily Hart be even more powerful than the Mysterious Clan?’
Cheryl Rivers gave a slight wave, and the bricks covering her were pushed aside. She frowned, looking down at her hand. ’My power hasn’t vanished, so why can’t I control my body?’
She looked up, and the brand-new RV was once again in her line of sight.
Cheryl Rivers lay on a pile of bricks, dusty and disheveled, looking utterly wretched. She tried to get up but found that her body was completely immobile.
It was as if a pair of enormous, invisible hands were crushing her, making it difficult to even breathe.
"COUGH! COUGH COUGH!" The dust in her mouth made Cheryl Rivers cough violently. It felt as if her insides were on fire.
She was inwardly shocked. ’How is this possible? My power is still here, but I can’t use it. Is Lily Hart controlling me? How can she have this much strength!’
Suddenly, her body began to levitate, floating in midair, completely beyond her control.
She reached out, trying to grab onto something, but there was nothing to hold.
’The last time I felt this complete lack of control over my body was...’
Before she could dwell on the thought, she was forced upright in midair, meeting Lily Hart’s calm gaze from inside the RV. She roared instinctively, "How dare you!"
The moment she spoke, her body was slammed heavily onto the ground, tossed aside as casually and disdainfully as a piece of trash.
"AHHH—" A sharp CRACK of breaking bone rang out.
She bounced lightly off the ground only to be slammed down hard again. This time, it was her leg that broke...
Cheryl Rivers screamed in terror, as if she had seen something that filled her with absolute dread.
After this was repeated several more times, she passed out, collapsing to the ground.
Rose Rhodes finally snapped out of it and scrambled over. She helped Cheryl Rivers up, her face a mask of shock as she examined the injuries.
Her left wrist was shattered, and her right foot was broken.
’How could this have happened?’
’Most members of the Mysterious Clan go their entire lives without injury. Only that one person has the power to punish them...’
’But Lily Hart? Is she the one?’
Rose Rhodes had no time for further thought. She hastily hoisted Cheryl onto her back and scurried away without another word.
’I have to get back and treat Cheryl Rivers immediately, or I’ll be the one in deep trouble.’
Inside the RV, Lily Hart shook out her hand. "They sure are hard to kill," she remarked, her tone as casual as if she were wondering what to have for lunch. "The members of this Mysterious Clan are really durable. She’s still not dead after all that."
Frost Shaw, Elder Shaw, and the others were silent. They had all witnessed the power of the Mysterious Clan; even Owen Warren and Leo Colby were no match for them.
And yet, Lily Hart had toyed with one of them, manhandling her as if she were a piece of garbage.
A wild thought flashed through Elder Shaw’s mind. ’Could Lily Hart be... the one?’
’But her age doesn’t fit at all. She’s too young. The one should be at least fifty or sixty by now and hasn’t emerged from seclusion in a very long time.’
’The last time she emerged was when the Mysterious Clan grew restless and started stirring up trouble. She appeared and immediately punished two members of the direct bloodline.’
’The Mysterious Clan quieted down for a few years after that. Who would have thought they’d get restless again now? Fortunately, Lily Hart was here this time to punish them.’
"Let’s go, get out of the command center. I never wanted to come to this dump in the first place!" Lily Hart said, a look of utter revulsion on her face.
No one objected. Even Elder Shaw was still reeling from the shock of who Lily Hart might be. By the time he snapped out of it, they were already outside the Central Command.
"Huh? Where’d the convenience store and the other buildings go?" Roman Rowe peered outside. The area was completely empty, without a single trace left behind.
The only things left... were the six kids, who were still waiting obediently where they’d been left. Seeing the RV return, they immediately hurried over.
Lily Hart parked the RV in its original spot. The kids scrambled aboard, and Frederick Shaw’s eyes lit up. He whispered, "Grandpa? How did you get here?"
Elder Shaw thought to himself, ’Right, how *did* I get out here?’
But he still bent down to catch Frederick Shaw as he leaped into his arms. Both grandfather and grandson were all smiles.
Lily Hart smiled, too. She loved a happy family reunion.
She held out her hand, and a miniature version of the convenience store appeared in her palm. It was exquisitely detailed and tiny; you could even clearly see the clothes drying on the second-floor balcony.
Lily Hart held the convenience store in her left palm. Roman Rowe leaned in to inspect it from all angles, exclaiming in awe, "Whoa—" Just then, she flicked a finger on her right hand.
The convenience store floated from her palm and flew to its original spot. Upon landing, it expanded with a WHOOSH, growing back to its full size. Everyone was stunned. ’You can do that?!’
’Doesn’t that mean you could just carry them around in your pocket?’
Next came the hotel, the bathhouse, and the factory. One by one, they were summoned, landing and expanding to their full size. The process was utterly magical, leaving everyone speechless.
The nearby survivors also witnessed this scene, their jaws hanging open. A single, shared realization began to spread through their minds.
’Boss Hart really has Magic!’
This Magic was different from their limited superpowers—it was truly omnipotent!
"Wow, Lily Hart, is there anything you can’t do?" Roman Rowe exclaimed. She had once again completely blown his mind.
’Not only could she effortlessly dominate a member of the Mysterious Clan, but she could also shrink a massive building, stick it in her pocket, and then restore it. And the most important part was that it looked exactly the same as before.’
Roman Rowe’s admiration for her reached its zenith. Frost Shaw wasn’t surprised, though he was far more reserved. Still, he couldn’t hide the stars in his eyes.
"Are you two okay now?" Lily Hart asked, looking at Seth and Stan Sterling.
’That Cheryl Rivers... she only knows how to pick on the weak. She targeted them just because their power levels were low. I absolutely will not stand for that!’
Stan Sterling sat weakly on the sofa, his face pale. His fingers unconsciously dug into the sofa’s upholstery. Hearing her, he shook his head. "I’m fine..."
Seth also shook his head. Luckily, they had stopped the bleeding in time.
When Lily Hart discovered how effective the medicines in the Shop were, she bought a large supply and gave some to everyone, just in case they were out and encountered an emergency that required immediate treatment.
"We won’t open for business today. Everyone go back and get some rest," Lily Hart said considerately, sending them on their way.
Even Elder Shaw followed Frederick Shaw back to the convenience store, temporarily putting the whole mess at Central Command out of his mind. ’Who cares,’ he thought. ’They’re all so capable over there, aren’t they?’
’Let them handle it themselves.’
Thanks to Lily Hart’s modifications, the second floor of the convenience store was now actually larger than the first floor, even though its exterior appearance hadn’t changed at all.
Now, everyone had their own private room. Frederick Shaw held Elder Shaw’s hand.
He happily led him back to his room. The sheets and duvet cover were soft and looked brand new.
It even had a private bathroom with a separate shower enclosure.
