Chapter 879: Can You Not See It?
Lu Yu didn’t even realise when such subtle changes started to happen in his way of thinking. But in his heart, his naive sister was no longer alive.
If he had known that after falling in love with Lei Qian, his sister would go through so many changes all at once, he would have never allowed the two to meet. But there were no what-ifs in this world. His sister had changed into a maniac, and at that moment he could only hope that she would still have some humanity left within her.
However, his hopes were doomed to be dashed. As soon as he arrived at the convoy where the women were being forcefully kept, he realised that his sister had indeed lost all humanity. He stared at the countless corpses that were scattered in a corner and pursed his lips. He closed his eyes and turned to look at the people kneeling by his side. "Who killed them?"
No one dared to answer him. Why? Because there was no specific answer to that question. They all had tormented these women when they had time; how could they give this man, who suddenly barged into their convoy and killed many of their ability users? They, of course, could not!
"I asked WHO WAS THE ONE WHO KILLED THESE WOMEN!" roared Lu Yu when he saw that none of the men was answering him. He knew that they all were the culprits behind these killings, but he could not bring himself to accept it; how could his sister be so cruel? She knew that these women were weak and starved, yet she let these men have their way with them? She was a woman as well. How could she ruin so many lives and that too without feeling anything?
Did she even feel slightly guilty when these men tormented these women, or did she have no idea about what happened to them?
Lu Yu did not dare to delve any deeper. He closed his eyes and said, "You better tell me the truth. If you are honest, then I will be kind enough to give you all a merciful death."
As soon as the men heard those words, they turned even more worried. So, in the end, they were going to die anyway? So what was the point of saying anything? That was what these men thought, but as soon as Lu Yu sensed that they were determined to keep the truth to themselves, his eyes turned fierce. He raised his hand and commanded the wind flowing past them and used it to attack one of the men kneeling in front of him.
The man had not expected Lu Yu to make a move. His eyes widened in surprise, but before he could even let out a cry of surprise, it was as if he was thrown into a mixer grinder. A bunch of blades attacked him, causing the man to let out a yelp before a blood-curdling scream tore from his throat.
The scream was simply dreadful. The men who heard it were so scared that they nearly peed themselves, and some of them actually did, in fact, peed themselves. They looked at the man who turned into mincemeat in front of them slowly and had no idea what to do; they could only watch the man being turned into what resembled a bag of minced meat.
The death was not only slow but painful.
"Now, who is going to speak the truth?" asked Lu Yu again. Though the man in front of them looked gentle and honest, these men knew that he would kill them at the drop of a hat. In the end, all of the men jumped up and started pointing at one another. No matter what, they had to push the blame on the head of someone else or else they would end up being killed in the same manner as the one who died just now. They could not afford such a gruesome death.
However, Lu Yu simply watched their performance as if he were looking at a show, and sure enough, it was just as he expected; all of these men were responsible for the death of these women. He closed his eyes, not knowing what to think. He simply raised his hand and wanted to clean these men off when—
"Brother!"
Lu Yu paused and turned to look at the woman who came rushing toward him. Usually, he would be filled with a hint of glee upon seeing his sister running toward him. But now, after realising how much Lu Yin had changed, he could no longer find joy in seeing his younger sister.
"What are you doing?" Lu Yin could not see the cold indifference in the eyes of her brother. In her mind, no matter what she did, her brother would treat her well. Because she was his little sister. Their parents had asked him to protect her with his life. So even if she turned the world upside down, her brother would still support her! That was what she believed.
"What do you think I am doing?" Lu Yu only revealed part of his face to his sister, which caused her to miss the glare that flashed in the eyes of the man. She simply raised her head and glared at her big brother before saying to him, "Why are you attacking my people? What have they done for you to make me suffer such a big loss? Do you even know how people would see me once they realise that you have harmed me in such a manner?"
Lu Yin did not see any reason for her brother’s madness. Was there a need for him to come looking for these men and kill them? They had not done anything.
"You mean to say that they did nothing wrong?" Lu Yu echoed the sentiments of his sister and did not know what to say. He simply turned to face Lu Yin and questioned, "Can you not see the corpses of the women they killed?"
