Ascendance of a Bookworm

Second part of the first week's lecture

When I retreated from the front of Hillsur and returned to my table, it had become a very subtle atmosphere there.

"What do you mean, you've been through a rebellion of magic, Rosemaine? Who the hell are you experiencing this with?

"Oh, I went through it with Master Hannelore."

"Dear Hannelore!?

With such an unexpected reaction, the perimeter deliberately concentrates its gaze on Hannelore. Hannelore, who received his gaze, beheld me in dismay, in awe.

"Dear Rosemaine, I, I don't remember at all..."

"Didn't you two talk last year about how to inherit the sacred artifact during a ritual study with Dunkelferger? That's when I blew magic into Master Hannelore's artifact, wasn't it? I rebelled against Master Hannelore's magic..."

Describing the time when I felt the rebellion of magic, Hannelore looked convinced, "Oh, was that then?"

"There was a little magic flushed from Master Rosemaine, and it just surprised me and it doesn't affect me at all. Don't worry, as Dr. Hillsur said, the influence of others' magic will soon disappear."

When Hannelore smiled at Nicole, she exhaled like she was relieved that her surroundings were "what..." boring.

"Rosemaine, the way they say it is too confusing. It's like they took this pill and dyed it on me."

In Wilfried's words, "Right. Do you see from around you as dyed by Brother Wilfried," and I rotate my head desperately. Even though the engagement has been decided to dissolve, if such a misconception flows, both Wilfried and I will be in trouble.

... but why isn't Brother Wilfried worried about himself!? Even Brother Wilfried drank when his adoptive father peeked into his memory!?

So I was hasty. Yes, there are many people in Aerenfest who have been given this medicine. It's not just me or Wilfried.

"... I think it's really bad that Brother Wilfried is about to be misunderstood around me, but there are a number of users of this medicine around me. Aren't you naturally worried about what happens to magic after you take your medicine"

"How many?"

"Yeah, I'll avoid the intrinsic noun, but a few of the old Veronican kids were used between last winter and spring, right? Even to prove your innocence, don't you think it would be troublesome if it affected the future?

Wilfried thought, "Surely there are a few of you" in the words I twisted out.

"And then I thought, although it's your job, it's tough for knights who have to be in tune with criminals."

Ugh, I think it was the senior knights who looked disgusted. With magic tricks that peek into your memory, you just pour your magic into them, but still, it won't be fun.

"Rosemaine, you don't have to worry about that. The effect of this medicine will not last long. It will be about a month or so long until the impact disappears completely"

"Really? Everyone's magic is fine."

... about a month. I see. I lost it worrying about you.

I panicked to see if Ferdinand dyed it, but apparently it's not the kind of thing that makes it particularly problematic. The knights of interrogation would have dyed it. Matthias and the others don't seem to have any problems, and most importantly.

The next day after finishing the blend, which has been slightly softened, there will be a seating class in the morning, beginning in the afternoon with a lecture by the Lordship Candidate. There is also a stepping stone in front of my desk this year, next door is Hannelore.

"Nice to meet you, Master Hannelore"

"This is next door to Rosemayne, and I can help you with all the advice you need."

Laughing at each other huffily, Eglantine came into the small hall, a classroom as a teacher.

... Is that it?

Eglantine moves gracefully, luxuriously wrapped up blonde hair, and serene smiling orange eyes are as remembered. But it's something different. I felt much prettier than before. It's hard to describe in words that there's more glamour from the inside, or that it's a natural body with lost shoulder power, but it's kind of beautiful. It has an oddly eye-catching atmosphere.

"Long time no see, gentlemen. Now the model will be carried."

The auxiliaries leave the model on the table. It was also placed before me. It is a model of a territory containing magic equipment that mimics basic magic in a box filled with bright white sand.

After the model was distributed to everyone and the auxiliaries left the room, Eglantine gave instructions to dye the model. A student who was taking time to dye the boxyard in last year's lecture asked, "Are you dyeing from scratch again?" and make a slightly unpleasant voice.

"Yeah, that's right. I can't even maintain the magic in the boxyard for a year, so I dye it from scratch every year."

It certainly costs less to dye it back from scratch than to maintain it. I was convinced, but as a Lordship candidate, it seems difficult to re-dye it again and again for students whose magic is critical. Eglantine stares at students staring at the model in depression.

"But you can't be an Aub if you're hesitant to dye magic equipment this big. The real foundation is not as small as this. Something more difficult to dye or maintain as an Aub"

Eglantine says so smiling at Nicole, pointing to the box garden model. It is the Lordship Candidates who aspire to be Lords. It is no mistake that this much of the model should be easily dyed if a Lordship candidate.

However, in the current state of lack of magic today, as a Lordship Candidate, a critical magician is left as good as it should be dropped on senior aristocrats in order to provide a little more magic to the underlying magic in the loser and small territories. I think it's a daunting challenge for Lords candidates to maintain their suppliers to the underlying magic, not the next Aub.

"Okay, let's get started"

I sent out a starp with the decree of Eglantine to pour magic in touch with the magic of the foundations of the Box Garden. The magic equipment stains, the magic flows and the white sand turns into black soil, and a little bit of green begins to grow.

"Master Rosemaine is as quick as ever. If you can dye this model with your own magic, this year create a demonic stone of registration between supplies for others to supply to the underlying magic."

"Yes."

Demon stones for registering during the supply cannot be made unless they are Aub. And the number of people to put in between the supplies is set at seven. Since the only place to provide magic is marked by the Great God of the Supreme God and the Great God of the Five Columns, there is no more to enter.

Of course, you can make as many demon stones as you want to register. I have also heard from Adolphine at the Tea Party that Drevanhell only registers, although minors do not frequent magic supplies because there are many adult Lords candidates.

...... I hope there are lots of lord candidates.

"What is it, Master Rosemaine? You have a difficult face..."

"No, I was thinking about someone who could supply basic sorcery. I envied the large number of people, like Drevanhell. There are only three Aerenfest, except minors..."

"That's tough," Hannelore clouded my expression a little.

"Dunkelferger is alive and well with his uncles and aunts, and some uncles. Including your father's second or third wife, it's easy for adults alone to exceed seven."

Your brother is now an adult, and Hannelore mutters. It seems that the Second Lady's son will be admitted to the House of Lords next year, as well as a few underage Lordship candidates.

"I envy being so talented, really"

"But if Aerenfest in the Middle Territories is having a hard time with that number, then Aerensbach must be really having a hard time"

That's what Hannelore said to me and I was happy. The only adults in Arlensbach who can magically supply basic sorcery are Dietrinde and Georgine, who have just grown up. And underage lord candidates are also the only Retizia before admission to the House of Lords.

... It's awful to use Master Ferdinand! I knew I still thought so, but I might know a great deal about wanting to take someone's hand.

Ugh, when I wanted to roar, magic totally went inside the boxyard. It's a sensory thing, but I know because the magic that's been going on gets pushed back for a moment.

"Dr. Eglantine, we're ready."

"Now let's make it between supplies. Are you ready for the Demon Stone?

"Yes. I've already saturated my magic, so I'm going to turn it into gold powder. Are you sure this is the Devil's Paper for drawing blueprints?

I have a Ferdinand preview, so I know what to do. I will put out the tools that I have been told to prepare for the lecture and confirm the procedure.

"Yes, I'm fine. Please draw in Stilo as you look at this magic formation"

I turn the magic stone I am bringing into gold powder, and behold the magic formations that are necessary to make between the offerings. Magic formations packed with symbols from all the gods are very complicated and difficult to draw.

... Can't you cope?

I try to specify the starting and ending points with tonnes and fingers. No magic at all. Apparently not. Coppell magic because of it, but it can only be used fairly exclusively. Too bad. I gave up and started drawing magic formations on the Devil's Paper in Stilo.

... Yikes, I wanted to make it easier.

By the time I had finished painting the magic formations, Hannelore had also finished dyeing the boxyard, and I could see her encouraging me to make gold powder. He grips the magic stone all the time and uses magic.

"Has Master Rosemayne finished drawing yet?

"It's not anymore. It took me quite a while to get tired."

"I think it's very fast and beautifully drawn..."

Peek into my drawn magic formation as Hannelore says so. I also looked down upon my own magic formation. I don't think it's very pretty. If you look a little further away like this, there are a few distorted symbols.

"Is it? Lady Ferdinand often scolded me for not being evenly symbolized on top of being slow and not being beautiful enough. I think it's a little bit subtle whether or not it's going to pass."

When using complex and difficult sorcery, it seems that the magic formation's symbol arrangement is only slightly misaligned, which makes it less efficient. I draw in Stilo, so it's what Ferdinand was forced to redraw again and again until he was convinced.

"You're tougher than my mother."

Hannelore said as a little surprised. Apparently the First Lady of Dunkelferger is also tough. I accidentally laughed small.

"Dear Hannelore, very strict instruction from Ferdinand, but if you have received it many times, there is a passing line that you will know more and more. As long as you find that, it will also be possible to increase the speed by aiming enough to manage to pass. Master Hannelore should also look for the acceptance line."

It is important to note that if I do too much, I can raise the passing line, but when I recommend it, Hannelore exhaled softly after becoming a pocan face.

"... Master Rosemayne can surprisingly afford some tough instruction."

... Huh? That's not true, right? I wanted to read the next book soon, and it was always full.

Can't I even afford reading time satisfactorily right now, but does it look like I can afford it from around me?

"Dear Rosemaine, when you are ready, please make between the supplies"

"Yes."

I use the same procedure as Entovickern to make magic equipment for supply and connect it to the magic of the foundation. And made seven demon stones for supply. I have made it in preview once, so I shouldn't have made any particular mistakes either.

... Is this what it is?

"It's wonderful," Eglantine glanced as I showed Eglantine. It seems to be unexpected speed and ability. Thanks to Ferdinand, but I also think it's because I'm previewing it and it looks like I can afford it that I can push for trouble like a service ceremony.

"After this, you will learn how to create a registration medal for your residents, and you will register and discard them. We're running out of time today, so let's do it next."

I've been feeling a little gloomy listening to Eglantine explain. That is the disposal of the registration medal. It is the execution that Ferdinand was carrying out in Hasse. I know it's something you have to know to execute a fugitive criminal like the previous Geebe Gerlach, but it doesn't feel good.

... Hasse's execution landscape comes back and makes me sick!

All we do in the lecture is register the magic of the Demon Stone in a medal that stands out to the people and discard the Demon Stone with the medal. Maybe if I hadn't seen Hasse's execution landscape, I could have finished the lecture without thinking about it.

But the way the Demon Stone collapses reminds me of the execution landscape that day. It makes me sick, and I feel down for a while.

... It's okay. I'm not afraid because I'm a demon stone. I'm not scared.

A bell rang announcing the end of the lecture. As everyone cleaned up quickly and left the classroom, Eglantine called me, smiling at Nicole.

"Will Master Rosemaine stay? I need to talk to you a little bit."

"Yes, I did, Dr. Eglantine."

I wave gently at Vilfleet and Hannelore, who leave the classroom looking back several times worried, and I remain in the classroom as Eglantine told me. When everyone left the room and the auxiliary finished cleaning out the boxyard of the material, only Eglantine and I remained in the classroom.

"What is the story, Master Eglantine?

"You said something might happen at the dedication ceremony, right? What the hell is going to happen? Why don't you give me as much detail as you can?

The contents exchanged at Ordonanz remain intact. As I had first thought, I would say, "I cannot even predict what will happen".

"You know something happens even though you can't predict it?

"Yes. You need prayer to be a Zent, don't you? For we must pray to the gods, and set up the pillars of light, and pray in the temple..."

Eglantine nodded in my words. It is also written on the white stone slab of the underground library that you must pray around the temple of the House of Lords.

"So I thought if we had a service ceremony in the deepest part of the world and we all prayed, something would happen. Between the deepest is the prayer room for prayer, so I don't think anything will happen at all, but I can't predict what will happen"

"Doing a service ceremony last year didn't change anything, did it?

Eglantine tilted her neck wonderfully. A pillar of red light stood, but it was a normal phenomenon in the House of Lords. I also wish it would end without a thing with a change of such magnitude.

"I didn't pray for the altar last year. There was no magic on the altar, just magic on the chalice."

Besides, we didn't tour the shrine, and there's no giant magic formations floating in the sky. Different conditions last year and this year in many ways.

"There may be strange things if we pray toward the altar, just as a strange phenomenon occurred if we used divine objects during the ritual of the star knot. I just wanted to let you know that it might not be necessary just to prepare your mind."

When I say from Anastasius, "I can prepare my mind more than it happens accidentally. Because nothing could have happened more to it," Eglantine laughed couscous when she told him.

"Okay. Prepare your mind by reporting to Zent as well. Then, a new candidate for Lordship in Classenburg has been admitted. Master Janciane has not yet carried out magic compression, so he plans to have him attend the service ceremony of the intermediate nobility. Intermediate aristocrats will be in charge of Master Wilfried, won't they?

"That's right. He suggested that I should divide the service ceremony three times because it was a burden on me."

And when I smiled with Nicole, so did Eglantine smile with Nicole.

"It has been conveyed that the two people near Master Rosemaine also care very much about the Lord. And that's all you have to say to make sure that neither of you is burdened by Rosemaine."

Eglantine looks at me like she sees a smiling object. And the truth is, you wanted to invite Janciane and me to a tea party before the service ceremony, or you want me to shelter Janciane. I think asylum and joint research are separate, but do I perceive them differently?

... If you asked me to tell you about the service ceremony, I'd be happy to accept it, but Eighth Aerenfest will take refuge in first place Crassenburg? Isn't that the opposite?

"I can shelter from next year when my position will be royal above Master Janciane's, but I still think this year will be difficult"

"Well, Master Rosemaine. You don't have to be so hard to think about it, it's enough to invite me to a tea party or accept an invitation to get along."

"If that's all right..."

If we're good enough to have a tea party together, we'll figure it out. It's just hard to twist time.

... study of magic equipment in the library, can you? That's what I want most. Hmmm......

"I'm glad you took it on quickly. Dear Rosemaine, let's do a good joint study."

That is what they said, and I leaned my neck. I have trouble being called a good collaborative study. Even though it's a joint study with Classenburg, I'm not going to be doing it with Eglantine, and I'm just in the mood to be cooperating in a joint study of Classenburg, one way or another.

"Even if you say good collaborative research, what the hell kind of collaborative research does Classenburg do?

"Huh?"

"Me, I haven't been asked anything, and as an Aerenfest, I'm not particularly interested in studying at a service ceremony. I was asked to cooperate with the royal family and the upper territories, so I just do the divine work. What the hell will Lady Janciane of Classenburg be studied?

I look at Eglantine in a strange mood holding her mouth in amazement. We haven't even decided on a research theme, and let's make it a good study even though we haven't had any meetings other than preparing for the service ceremony, even if they say so, I don't know what to reply to.

"It was said last year that I do not need Aub's permission because joint research is part of the student community. However, joint research with Classenburg has been decided with the support of Mr. Eglantine, with an offer from Aub to begin, and meetings and discussions have been held without students"

Eglantine looked at me like a hack. But there really isn't any student involved at all. I can't think of the face of a student in Classenburg at all, except for Janciane, who greeted me at a rapprochement.

"How am I supposed to research something that doesn't even determine the research subject, without asking for this opinion, but has a set date, time, or order?

I don't mind cooperating with the service ceremony because there are reasons why royalty can gain a lot of magic in order to increase student protection and make people widely aware of divinity, but even if it's called collaborative research, it's not a pin.

"There are many advantages, so I think it's a good idea to have a service ceremony. I urge you to do your best for Classenburg, and this year we will follow the requests of the upper territories. But once I am adopted by the King, I will stop working with Crassenburg, which has nothing in particular to gain for Aerenfest. To be honest, it's very annoying to crush a holiday in the first half of a lecture that you can't afford at all."

As Eglantine has intervened, I will also intervene to stop the joint research. It's not what Aerenfest does until it involves students who are straining Wilfried and Charlotte and striving to achieve excellence.

"Isn't it in Aerenfest's interest to contribute to royalty"

Classenburg can contribute to the royalty by pulling it together for a service ceremony, Eglantine said. Surely it will be necessary for Aerenfest to contribute to the royalty as a winning territory.

But it's not something I have to do with Classenburg, and my royal entry is supposed to count towards Aerenfest's contribution. I don't need any more burdens.

"Dear Rosemayne, we cannot have a service ceremony without the cooperation of Aerenfest. There is no one who can do divinity. If it was so annoying, let me know sooner..."

Trouble, I shook my neck to the side, staring straight at Eglantine, who said so with his hand on his cheek.

"Me, I couldn't tell you because I was just told at the beginning of winter as something I had already decided, and I couldn't ask for my opinion. I cannot say no to Aerenfest because it was the royal order at the time of Lord Eglantine's intervention."

At a time when Eglantine, a royal family, is intervening, it is no longer just a collaborative study of students for Aerenfest. There is usually no such thing as collaborative research, which is determined by discussions between Aub. And I'm not willing to go on with that unusual research.

"If Crassenburg is going to have the same ceremony next year, I think it would be nice to study this year's ceremony carefully and allow students in Crassenburg to do the divinity. Oh, why don't you make that your research theme this year?

Vilfleet and Charlotte are also available, and I hear that Merhior and the Blue Apprentices performed their rituals splendidly at the Harvest Festival. I have a prep period for a year, so as long as I'm willing, I'll be fine. When I talked about the efforts of the blue apprentices who worked hard from spring to autumn, Eglantine turned out to have no idea what to say.

"Six months, it is possible to do divinity if we make serious efforts. Yes, please tell Aub Klassenburg, Dear Eglantine"
