Chapter 110. Leaving the pocket world
Aiden took a step forward.
His figure blurred as he turned into phantoms and after images. Tentacles, arcs, balls of lighting and spatial bells passed him by a hair’s breath.
"I’m very fast now," Aiden thought as he assessed his combat instincts and reaction speed. His vision, his smell, and his hearing had been enhanced to unimaginable heights after his breakthrough. His physical prowess had greatly improved too.
The time he had also spent in this pocket world had given him a load of combat experience he would have never had in the real world. He had faced a lot of life and death situations that had pushed him to his limits. All these factors had played a great role in enhancing his combat instincts and speed.
Of course, this did not mean that if he encountered an opponent more powerful than him, he could not die. For instance, if he were to be engaged in a battle with a beginner rank 3 chaotic beast at the moment, the fact that he could predict the direction of the attack did not mean he would be fast enough to react to it.
He knew his limits.
Aiden kept evading the attacks of the two behemoths. Each time he evaded the lighting attacks and spatial bells, he drew closer to them.
Aiden knew it was time to clash. He had tested his combat instincts and reaction speed.
He disappeared. He reappeared a split second before a descending tentacle of the kraken.
The crimson spear came down.
The tentacle, clad in a streak of lightning, crashed into the spear. The lightning spread across Aiden’s body. But it held. He did not feel a thing. His Crimson armor remained as sturdy as it was previously.
"Defenses are commendable," He thought.
Also, instead of being pushed back, the spear cleaved through the tentacle of the kraken. A gaping wound appeared on the tentacle. Blood sprayed across the place.
His figure darted across the place like a streak of crimson light. Each time the crimson spear came down, it sliced and stabbed through a tentacle.
Aiden knew it was not doing much damage to the creature. He was just trying to familiarise himself with his strength.
The creature grew frustrated and kept lashing its tentacles across the place haphazardly.
As for the kun peng, Aiden kept evading its spatial bells.
A glint flashed through Aiden’s eyes. He had familiarised himself with his power enough and he had come to a conclusion.
"It seems I won’t need to just delay them till the gate shrinks into the vicinity. I can kill them," Aiden thought.
For a moment, he didn’t move. He flapped his crimson wings, floating before the two behemoths. He looked like an ant before them. Their attacks came down on him from different directions.
The crimson spear vibrated. It transformed into an extremely large crimson sword.
The crimson sword blotted out the place. It was very overbearing. It was twice the size of the two creatures.
It floated before Aiden for a moment. Then, it blinked and shot towards the two creatures.
The colossal crimson sword tore through their attacks like paper. It proceeded towards the kraken. The crimson sword cleaved through its colossal body overwhelmingly.
It sliced through flesh and pierced through the creature’s heart and separated it into two. Its attacks ceased. Its tentacles lashed around slowly and came to a stop. Blood rained and filled the ocean, painting it crimson.
It did not stop. It spun like a fan and arced unnaturally, then appeared in the line of vision of the kunpeng.
The creature screamed as pain tore through its body vertically. The crimson sword trailed through its flesh, cleaving it into two halves.
The spatial bells disappeared as its vision blanketed.
It was dead.
The crimson sword turned into blobs of blood and returned into Aiden..
Aiden absorbed the blood essence of the two creatures after that. He returned into the cave, waiting for the gate to shrink into the vicinity where the eggs were.
When he arrived there, he was in thought.
"The gate will be shrinking into the vicinity anytime soon. I have to say, being stuck in a pocket world must be a really daunting experience."
His thoughts randomly drifted towards a scientific principle behind why gates were not visible and accessible to warriors when one entered the pocket world.
"When gates are formed, those in the actual universe can see them and enter them into pocket worlds. However, after they enter the pocket worlds, they don’t see any physical gate anywhere in the pocket world. This makes it impossible for them to leave the pocket world the same way they entered the pocket world.
In the pocket world, the gate exists as a destabilized temporal spatial boundary that only the creatures and environmental phenomena of the pocket world can naturally connect to and leave the pocket world into the real universe through.
As for warriors from the actual universe, it is only when the factor needed for the closure of the gate is dealt with, that the temporal spatial boundary, which is the gate, will start to close/shrink into the vicinity of the factor which led to the high energy accumulation which led to the formation of the gate.
This is the only time they are naturally able to perceive the closing gate and leave the pocket world through it.
Because of this, if warriors enter a pocket world and get separated from each other by some reasons, and one group manages to close the gate and return to the actual universe through the shrinking gate, the others who were not in the vicinity where the gate shrunk into will be left in the pocket world without any way back into the real world! Could there be instances where those who get stuck in pocket worlds survive in the pocket world, build cities in pocket worlds and live there? Endra has not discovered such an occurrence. But it’s not technically impossible. Perhaps, I may come across such a possibility in the future," Aiden thought.
Soon, he snapped out of his musings.
He saw something appear. It started shrinking into the vicinity of the eggs.
It was the gate. It was closing.
"About time. I wonder how long it’s been out there." He went through the shrinking gate and disappeared. The gate shrunk and eventually turned into a dot in the pocket world and disappeared completely, leaving only the eggs in the oceanic cave.
