Chapter 109. Legendary rank 2!
Aiden moved towards the cave, flapping his crimson wings. He crossed the depression that led into the cave and entered the cave. He hid behind a large rock in the large carve. It stretched for several hundreds of meters. Its ceiling had natural blue lights. The ceiling was very far from the ground.
Aiden knew every nook and cranny of the cave, and he knew where the oceanic granda he had been following currently was, in the cave.
It was currently resting on its fin, eyes closed. It was breathing. Each breath caused bubbles to form in the water.
Aiden decided to eliminate it covertly before he started killing the oceanic grandas evolving in the eggs. Even with them, he would operate covertly. He had to kill them and absorb their blood essence, and break into legendary rank 2 before the kraken and the kunpeng noticed the worldly energy fluctuations in the cave was reduced and their attention was drawn to him.
Blobs of blood manifested before Aiden and turned into tiny crimson threads. The tiny crimson threads were very sharp all over. They were extremely sturdy and heavy. Aiden made them tiny enough to not be obvious to the eye, but sturdy and sharp enough to kill expert rank 2 creatures.
The thousands of tiny threads shot into the cave.
The gigantic expert rank oceanic granda did not notice anything.
Its eyes were closed. However, its instincts were very sharp. It opened its eyes for a moment and closed it again. Clearly, it sensed something was off but it shrugged it off when it didn’t discover anything.
The tiny crimson threads eventually arrived at where the gigantic oceanic granda was. The crimson threads wrapped themselves around the large neck of the oceanic granda the size of a large tree trunk.
The eyes of the creature flashed open. It squealed quietly, its eyes darting across the cave to identify what was trying to kill it. However, it’s vision wasn’t clear. It was dying.
The crimson threads were very sharp. They were like blades. They pulled deeper into the flesh on the neck with each passing second. Very soon, the threads were so deep in the neck that they could not even be seen around the neck anymore. They pierced through blood vessels, vertebrae and met each other in the center of the neck.
The head of the large creature tumbled and rolled on the ground. Its headless body tumbled and fell, and shook the cave. It’s blood painted the cave crimson.
Aiden absorbed its blood essence while watching the reactions of the kraken and the kunpeng outside the cave. They were still asleep.
Aiden nodded.
The crimson threads hovering in the cave proceeded towards the thousands of eggs.
They spread across the eggs. Each thread wrapped itself around an egg and started cutting through the egg shell quietly and slowly. The threads started sinking into the egg shells. Aiden was very meticulous. The cuts were so meticulous and surgical that not even an egg shell cracked.
Very soon, each thread crossed the shell and entered the inner layer of the egg, wrapping themselves around the flesh of the creatures in the eggs and cutting through the flesh of the oceanic grandas evolving in the eggs.
Soon, all the oceanic grandas evolving in the eggs were dead.
His crimson threads turned into blobs of blood and returned into him.
Aiden’s crimson threads disappeared. From where he stood, the distance was not in a one kilometer radius.
He went further into the cave. When he was in a one kilometer radius, he absorbed the blood essence of all the thousands of dead oceanic grandas.
"Please let this be a breakthrough or I’m screwed," Aiden thought.
After he absorbed all the blood essence, he felt the accumulated blood essence within him resonate. He had reached the threshold required for a breakthrough.
Aiden smiled.
A great surge of strength spread through him.
His power was now at the level of a legendary rank 2 warrior.
Just like all his previous breakthroughs, his range of sight, his hearing and his smell increased. He could see, smell and hear everything happening beyond the cave, all the way to where the forest was. And that was a very large distance!
Aiden closed his eyes for a moment and opened it.
Three kilometers. His range of absorbing blood essence was now at three kilometers!!
"If I were to be on a battlefield, and the whole place was full of corpses, it means I can stand at one location and absorb the blood essence of all the corpses in a three kilometer range." Aiden calmed himself down. He could not wait for his two year military service to start. Obviously, since his power was at the level of a legendary rank 2 warrior now, it was only natural he graduated when he returned to Derulo City University.
He snapped out of his thoughts and focused on his current situation.
The trees growing in the cave slowly withered and died.
Aiden noticed it.
"The energy density is back to normal. The gate has not started shrinking into the vicinity too. I should should hold off the kraken and the kunpeng in the meantime," Aiden thought.
Suddenly, he saw the kraken and the kunpeng open their eyes. Just as he had theorised.
They had realized something was wrong with the energy density and their attention had been drawn to the cave.
Aiden reinforced his crimson armor with more blobs of blood. A long crimson spear formed from his blood. The crimson spear shot towards his right hand. He grabbed it and shot out of the cave.
He appeared before them.
The moment they saw him, the kraken flapped its tentacles towards him.
The tentacles were packed with power. Several arcs and balls of lighting trailed ahead of the tentacle.
The creature flapped another tentacle packed with lightning..then another. It’s attacks were so fast that the movements of its tentacles became a blur. The arcs and balls of lightning heading towards Aiden were so fast that they caused resplendent azure lights to flash throughout the ocean depths.
As for the Kunpeng, the space around it twisted and condensed into a large spatial bell. The large spatial bell spun towards Aiden.
The attacks of the kunpeng and the kraken approached Aiden simultaneously.
Aiden was calm. Flapping his crimson wings, he took a step forward, crimson spear in hand. It was time to test how strong his power at the level of a Legendary rank 2 warrior was.
